called Incision and was Alaska Blue. I have the build file and original owners

I just put new stars and diamonds on this spring -- ordered from New Holland:

Click on "C Parts" and scroll down.  The set is a little pricey, but nice to 
just peel and stick.  I did not use the outline of the stars.  Before ordering 
I sent them a sample of my shear stripe to get a good match.  It's perfect in 
dark blue.

Once pretty much anything has cured you are creating a mechanical bond vs a 
chemical bond. Etching or course sand will give you good bonding results.  At

Stus-List Gelcoat over Epoxy

Did a repair jobfilled the big stuff with West System Epoxy with a 
little silica and finished with gelcoat...that was 12 years ago.


I didn't know then that gelcoat didn't adhere to expoxy.but for some 
reason, mine did.


Many years ago I bought a Kirby 25 which had VC 17 bottom paintfresh 
water boat now coming to salt water so what to do with the VC 17?  
Everyone told me, including Interlux, that Micron CSC wouldn't adhere to 
VC17well, it did for me for the 10 years I raced the boat.  Only 
ever wet sanded and painted.

I have a 2004 C 99 which has a vacuum bagged epoxy hull.  The finish is a 
polyester gel coat.  Here is a quote from Tim Jackett the designer from Tartan 
Yachts who built the boat “The gelcoat is NPG Isothalic, which is a polyester 
product.” So obviously it can be done with the proper preparation.  The finish 
sill looks like new.

Be advised, Gel coat is Polyester based and will not adhere to epoxy, but
epoxy will adhere to polyester and or vinyl ester based fiberglass. Gel
coat will also work with vinyl ester based fiberglass.

Same question for hull chips - small batch for touch up of my 33-2
For the deck - 
I had a gallonof gel coat tinted by Canada composites - I had a core section of 
deck where I polished the non skid and matched it to their box of samples - 
worked very well.

   Burnside Fiberglass color matched a can of gelcoat for a 35 C  a couple of weeks ago (cabin top) which was a very good match. He had to make several attempts before getting it just right, but he kept going until it was right. I was very happy with the match.
