Re: Stus-List Force 10 Stove Parts?

2019-12-11 Thread Shawn Wright via CnC-List
Glad to hear that yours works well. Since I went to the effort to replace
the battery holder, I will clean up the burners and see if that helps. I
wonder if my regulator is allowing a bit too much pressure and causing the
problem. On high, the gas comes out forcefully enough that part of the
flame blows itself out when lighting if I'm not careful. I'll fiddle with
it next time I'm aboard.

Ours was as well, and it was under one corner (I thought the left instead of
the right), but it was really easy to replace with a battery holder with a wire
running out of each end.  I re-wired that new holder in the circuit and mounted
it, and the sparker has now run perfectly for about 3 years.  I love that the
sparker works every time.   Easy peasy, and cheap as well!Bruce Whitmore1994

I don't have any ideas on parts, but we have a Force 10 stove and also a
BBQ on the rail. Both are nice quality so hopefully they will keep going. I
was a bit disappointed that I spent some time replacing the battery holder
for the ignitor on the stove, but it doesn't work well. It sparks with a
nice strong spark on each burner, but with the gas flowing outward from the
burners, it doesn't ignite that well. I'm not comfortable having unburnt
propane spilling out, so I'll keep using a manual lighter, which works well.

Re: Stus-List Force 10 Stove Parts?

Kuuma might be as close as you get, as Force 10 sold their grill business. I
did some digging on this last summer, but can’t remember who they sold the
remnants to, but I think Kuuma makes most everyone else’s controls. I’ve been
trying to get an older Force 10 working with a new control without the
regulator, and I have finally decided to just buy a new grill, as I seem to be
throwing good money after bad.

EBay might turn up some parts.

Re: Stus-List Force 10 stove parts

I highly recommended Sure Marine. I have found many manufacturers are quick to
push for you to purchase a whole new unit. My refer unit stopped working last
week and the manufacturer suggested I ditch the old unit (2006)and join the new
enlightenment of refrigeration.

The folks at Sure Marine were very supportive and I remain in the dark ages of
refrigeration with a good deal of treasure still jingling in my pocket!

We did purchase some parts for our Force Ten last year direct from Force Ten
but maybe the well ran dry. Sure Marine has been very good at providing service
and parts for our 1989 C&C.

Fred,

Thanks for the response. I wrote the post after I talked to Force 10. They told
me they had NO parts, particularly not burners or thermocouples, for anything
made prior to 2000. Good to know, but not good in my current situation. I need
a couple of burner caps and thermocouples. Else, the stove is in great shape.

Dan,

I thought thermocouples were universal, with different length leads. Am I
wrong (again)?

Stus-List Force 10 stove parts

2015-07-01 Thread Daniel Sheer via CnC-List
Fred,
Thanks for the response. I wrote the post after I talked to Force 10. They told
me they had NO parts, particularly not burners or thermocouples, for anything
made prior to 2000. Good to know, but not good in my current situation. I need
a couple of burner caps and thermocouples. Else, the stove is in great shape.
