[cobirds] Redpoll - Golden - Jeffco

2016-02-10 Thread Ira Sanders
Birders
The Redpoll was here when I put out the feeders at 7:30 after chasing the
elk up into the open space.
I don't find it amusing that birders are NOT chasing off the elk when they
are going after the feeders or are in my yard.

[cobirds] stearns lake, boulder(?) county

2016-02-10 Thread 'j.d. birchmeier' via Colorado Birds
In addition to the ducks/gulls/geese that you would expect, there was a
harbinger - a Western Meadowlark singing lustily from a fence post.   A couple
of red-winged blackbirds were singing, but their hearts weren't in it, although
one female red wing was taking an interestI also got to see a mature bald
eagle cruise over and dive on a target in the weeds.   Failing to reappear,
probably got some lunch.

[cobirds] Greater White-fronted Goose, Thornton (Adams Co.)

2016-02-10 Thread Adam Vesely
There is currently a Greater White-fronted Goose at Sage Creek Park in
Thornton, near the southeast corner of 128th Avenue and Holly St. Among
several Canadian Geese, there is also a Graylag Goose in the same field,
which offers a nice size comparison to the Greater White-fronted Goose.
