Hey, everybody. I heard and saw (and audio'd and photo'd) an *eastern
meadowlark* at Greenlee Preserve, Boulder County, earlier today, Friday,
Apr. 7. Other birds at and around the preserve included* wood duck, hooded
merganser, black-crowned night-heron, greater yellowlegs, Say phoebe,
American bushtit, Audubon warbler, dark-eyed junco,* and *spotted towhee.*

[cobirds] Eastern Meadowlark, Greenlee Preserve, Boulder County

2012-05-23 Thread Ted Floyd

Hello, Birders.

Earlier this hour, Wednesday, May 23rd, I audio-recorded an Eastern Meadowlark
at Greenlee Preserve, Boulder County. I have put the sound spectrogram at CFO's
Facebook page, here:

http://www.facebook.com/groups/129995222037/

I first heard the bird in a tree at 39.997197 N, 105.112438 W. Then it flew to
the huge dead tree at 39.997000 N, 105.113627 W. Then it flew to the northwest
a bit, and I lost track of it. Hope it's still around! Oh, and given that the
bird is moving around, know the flight call--distinctive to genus, for sure,
and perhaps to species.
