Awesome, thanks so much Jill.

I am on a manifest for Sunday airport-to-hotel. When arriving at the
Asheville airport, how do I find this van? [ This info may be on the
wiki somewhere I'm missing, sorry! ]

We could really use 3 vans to get all the folks that seems to want to make that

Only thing I can do to help is recommend the following folks get together to
see if they can share taxis or rides.

Based on my calculation...I recommend that:

Marquez, Stethers, Lamm, and Young see what they can do to share a ride at
12:15 pm on Thursday...

Barrera, James, Rockliff, Reiss and Rochkind see what they can do to share a
ride at 2:00 pm on Thursday...

Hellman, Classen-Wilson, and Kome see what they can do to share a ride at 2:30

And Gong, Ou, and Atzberger see what they can do to share a ride at 3:30 pm on
Thursday.

The rest is up to you...

I'm going to look tomorrow to see if we can add a late run on Monday (I think I see a

Just an FYI that a LinkedIn event has been created for the Code4Lib
 2010 conference in Asheville, NC.

 See http://events.linkedin.com/Code4Lib-2010/pub/180483

LinkedIn events allow you to indicate whether you are interested and/or
attending and/or presenting. It looks like it is also possible to
 comment on an event.

[CODE4LIB] Asheville Airport Bus: Re: [CODE4LIB] Van Departure list updated...

2010-02-18 Thread Yvonne Federowicz
Thanks for all your work on this, folks.

How about adding this to the options:

Airport Bus Schedule:
http://www.ashevillenc.gov/residents/transportation/city_bus/default.aspx?id
=968

Asheville has a bus that goes to the Airport, and their Transit Center isn't
too far from the hotel, about 1.4 miles walking:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=dsource=s_dsaddr=31+Woodfin+Street,+Ashevill
e,+NC+28801+%28Renaissance+Asheville+Hotel%29daddr=360+West+Haywood+St.+ash

599785,-82.55948sspn=0.028648,0.04446ie=UTF8

There seems to be a bus that goes fairly close to the hotel, towards the
Transit Center.

Buses seem to be about $1.00.

(I'm listed for a 10AM shuttle on Thursday, but I'll miss events and sit at
the airport until 4PM if I do that. So I wouldn't mind sharing a taxi also
if the bus is unworkable.)

Yes, that is a very good (and inexpensive) option. The whole shuttle

[CODE4LIB] 12 Bones: Paying, Getting There, Menu, and Pre-Event Cash Bar

2010-02-18 Thread Rosalyn Metz
Hello All,

The final cost of the 12 Bones BBQ Excursion will be $18 per person. The
cost went up a bit based on market value for the meat. If this is too rich
for you blood, feel free to remove your name from the list and move up the
first person on the waitlist.
http://wiki.code4lib.org/index.php/C4L2010_social_activities#12_Bones_BBQ_Dinner_Excursion
I've also added information to the wiki about getting there, menu, and a
pre-event cash bar. I would include all of that here, but then the email
would be really long.

You can pay via one of two methods:

*Pay in Advance via Credit Card / PayPal*
I have created a PayPal button if you need to use a credit card. You must
have a PayPal account in order to use this method (it takes 2 minutes to
create and add your card). Bear in mind that if you go with this method
you'll *actually be charged $18.83* since PayPal charges me 2.29%($18.00) +
$0.30 whenever someone uses a credit card, so I'm passing that cost on to
you (i know, i'm cheap). You'll get a lovely receipt from PayPal at the end
of the transaction and I'll check you off of my list. When you get to the
door of 12 Bones, you'll give me your name and I'll let you in so you can
stuff your face full of BBQ. You can find the payment page here:
http://bit.ly/cu0Bxy.
*
Pay at the Door with CASH*
Technically this is the cheaper method. You show up, hand me your $18.00 *in
cash*. Remember, I am not a bank therefore I do not accept credit cards or
checks at the door, *cash only.* I will then check your name off of the
list, hand you a receipt and we all walk away happy. * *Did I mention I
will take *cash only* at the door? Okay good.
*

*If you refuse to pay via one of these two methods, I'll throw you out on
your ear. This will provide entertainment for everyone at the BBQ since I'm
only 5' 2 and you're most likely taller than me. But don't underestimate
me, I'm feisty and I had a big brother that was twice my size.

[CODE4LIB] Announcing the very unofficial code4lib '10 24 hours of Drupal

2010-02-18 Thread Cary Gordon
Since I have 24 hours, more or less, in Asheville after the the end of
code4lib 2010, I thought that it would be nice to have an informal
Drupal party in that period. Imagine... 24 hours of hook this and node
that washed down with gallons of coffee and/or beer and punctuated
with no sleep.

If that sounds like too much fun, maybe we could have a Drupal dinner.
Or maybe even an I'll have dinner with you, but if you so much as
mention Drupal, I'll slap you. dinner.

No formal registration necessary, I'll be there all week and I am not
hard to find.

Thanks,

Cary

Let me know if you want to join. Probably about 15-20 miles. I ride
about 18 mph, but I can go faster or slower, NP.

Jogging - what say folks up for runs meet in the hotel lobby at 6:30am any
day next week.  I'm game for a relatively short run (2-3 miles) both Monday

or treacherous out, I'll just hit the treadmill or rowing machine if they
 have it.
