Thanks Will. I know about MARCEdit.  What I'm concerned about is not so much 
technique, but a source of authority records. Obviously, thre's LC Authorities, 
but what I don't know is if those records all have RDA equivalents in that 
database, or what the advantages of the commercial authority databases are.  Of 
course, we can get authority records from OCLC if we could work out some method 
of selecting a batch of macthing authorities that doesn't cost a lot extra.  We 
have III automated authorities, so one authority record can updateall the bibs 
if it has a 4xx that match their 1xx.What I need is an overview of what my 
options are for selecting a batch of authority records from a good source.

I'm not super-familiar with cataloging software, but would MarcEdit do the 
trick?

I know it's designed explicitly for batch editing of MARC records, I just don't

**About LLS:**  
LLS is a federated library system established in 1983. We currently serve
Racine and Walworth Counties, and our office is located in Waterford WI. We
are a State-funded agency, providing materials delivery,
professional consulting and other services. On the
technology side, we operate a number of system services including a Wide Area
Network (Cisco based), an Integrated Library System (SirsiDynix Symphony 3.4.1
sp5), web servers (CentOS-based Apache), open-source library applications
developed in-house (Php, Perl, MySQL, XML, web service calls). In addition to
providing services according to Wisconsin state statutes, we strive to assist
our member libraries in making the most effective uses of funding, and to
generate value for libraries  library users by engaging in innovative
projects with the resources at our disposal.

  
**How this job fits in:**  
This position is designed to work closely with our System IT Manager and the
LLS Administrator. Primary responsibilities will generally revolve around
supporting the ILS, and supporting the local IT services offered to our member
libraries (maintaining, diagnosing and fixing library IT problems -including
pc support- both remotely and on-site). Based on your skill set and the
organizational needs of the day, you'll also lead or collaborate on other
projects. The successful applicant will also have a great deal of opportunity

professional position. Responsibilities: The University of Illinois at Urbana-
Champaign seeks a collaborative and experienced professional to join the
University Library's Web Team. Working in the Library
Information Technology unit under the direction of the Technical Architect for
Web Content, the Web Developer and User Interface Specialist will develop and
maintain data-driven and user-centered web pages and related internet
applications. The Web Developer and User
Interface Specialist will initially focus on the re-design of the general
Library website but may also collaborate with other Library units and groups
that maintain web pages; and will contribute to the Library's evolving user
experience (UX) program.  Duties and responsibilities:
Collaborate with faculty and staff to design new interfaces, develop
wireframes, mockups and prototypes for testing in an Agile development
environment. Collaborate to transition final prototypes to
production. Create and maintain documentation. Maintain web
pages and related applications. Participate in UX studies, including
comparative and iterative testing of interfaces, and incorporate findings into
designs. May modify third party interfaces and create new ones to meet
accessibility standards. 
Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree with a focus on interactive
design, graphic design, web development, informatics, human-computer
interaction, or related field; Familiarity with web coding best practices;
Demonstrated fluency in best practices for web-based and mobile information
architecture, responsive design, and other web design standards; Excellent
communication skills, including the ability to accurately communicate ideas
across varying perspectives; Solid understanding of visual design best
practices, particularly for website design; Experience with HTML, CSS, and
JavaScript; Successful experience working in a collaborative
