[jira] [Updated] (NETBEANS-3174) Error en los atajos/Shortcut error

Anthony Sandoval updated NETBEANS-3174:
---
Description:
Español e inglés así puedo ser atendido más rápido por alguien/Both spanish and
english so someone can help me faster

Well, I've just installed the IDE and I don't really know if this is a bug
(that's why I put low priority status in the description part). I can't find
any information about, so I don't know if it's just like the new IDE'd have to
be or I'm really lost (I'm a freshman so sorry), but ... I've just changed from
10.0 to 11.1 and there's something weird in my shortcuts, for example, SHIFT +
COMMA throws "<" instead of ";" and there are plenty of other shortcuts like
that. Is there a "solution" or it's just as it meant to be? If that's the case,
is there a way to modify this?

Note:

However if I manually deploy the WAR file then the application works fine.  Its
just that Netbeans is not able to copy the context.xml file from
C:\Users\Pramod Chandra\AppData\Local\Temp to C:\Program Files\Apache Software
Foundation\Tomcat 9.0\conf\Catalina\localhost

This is resulting in a File not found exception.

This story is going on for years. And there is a bug already listed in here:

As old bug tracking system doesn't work
([https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/enter_bug.cgi] gives

internal server error 500. Hello there!) I submit it in here.

Look's like it is only in Windows and after I lock windows and then log on
again I have the issue.

+_*It's annoying*_+ It is lasting for years. Please get
it fix someone somehow.

Do I understand right version 1.7 is based on JDK 13 and 1.71 on JDK12? Quite
odd to downgrade in a version upgrade, IMHO

[jira] [Created] (NETBEANS-3170) Wizard Session Beans For Entity Classes in EJB missing

2019-09-26 Thread Riccardo (Jira)
Riccardo created NETBEANS-3170:
--

Summary: Wizard Session Beans For Entity Classes in EJB missing
 Key: NETBEANS-3170
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-3170
 Project: NetBeans
  Issue Type: Bug
  Components: cnd - Other
Affects Versions: 11.1
 Environment: Linux 64bit
Reporter: Riccardo

I'm trying to follow a tutorial
([https://netbeans.org/kb/docs/javaee/javaee-entapp-ejb.html)] to having a
correct environment to develop an EE Application from scratch.

Firstly, I needed to add manually the javax library to the ejb module and the
jsf ones to the war module.

Secondly when I tried to create the entity class the wizard did not find the
existent "Database Connection", so I used jdbc/sample (as suggested)

Following the tutorial I tried to create a "Session Bean for Entity Classes".
The tutorial ask to create it from EJB module, but the wizard is not present.
So I tried to create it from the web module. Here I wasn't able to proceed
because the module didn't find the persistence file of the EJB module

So I tried to add the entity clas and PU directly into the web module.
Surprising the Database Connection list was correctly filled up with the
existent ones: in any case I've set up the persistence.xml exactly as the one
created for the EJB module

After this I was able to generate correctly the Session Bean

So the (I think) errors are:

1: Generating a new EE Application, did not populate the Library Dependicies

2: Generating Persistence Unit the list of the current Database Connection is
unaccessible

3: the wizard "Session Bean for Entity Classes" is not shown in the EJB module

Björn Schmidt updated NETBEANS-3115:

Description:
I'm using many independent gradle (java-library style) projects opened in NB.

They are not part of a big multi module project!

Whenever I want to navigate to a source file from another project relative to
the current one, Netbeans opens the source from ~/.m2/repository.../project.jar
and not from the local file of the referenced  project which is of course also
opened in NB.

I already tried to disable all ~/.m2 Sources under Window->Sources but that
doesn't change the behaviour (also not after restarting).

Even if it would change the behavior I then would have to disable all those
automatically added ~/.m2 (which are somehow preferred) references for every
project.

Maybe I'm just to stupid to find the right (global) option but ATM I think this
behavior is a bug.

—

Attached Test Case:
 - open both projects in Netbeans
 - deploy both project to local maven repo via custom rungradle action (clean
build publishToMavenLocal)

 - go to NewClass in providedlib
 - ctrl click on the new Lib2Class statement

Expectation: Lib2Class gets opened from local filesystem

Actual: Lib2Class gets opened from local maven repo

I'm using many independent gradle (java-library style) projects opened in NB.

They are not part of a big multi module project!

Whenever I want to navigate to a source file from another project relative to
the current one, Netbeans opens the source from ~/.m2/repository.../project.jar
and not from the local file of the referenced  project which is of course also
opened in NB.

I already tried to disable all ~/.m2 Sources under Window->Sources but that

Even if it would change the behavior I then would have to disable all those
automatically added ~/.m2 (which are somehow preferred) references for every
project.

Maybe I'm just to stupid to find the right (global) option but ATM I think this
behavior is a bug.

Great. We'll provide v1.71 of the nb-javac plugin today, which will be the same
as v6. We created the new version yesterday to support new Java language
features for JDK 13, which we'll need to make available as a separate version,
i.e., v 1.8 and also in a separate update center specifically for 11.2.

I made a fresh install, and just do not install the nb-javac

not sure if it has been necessary, but deactivated "Compile on save" for all

I am able to work so far

I understand that and that's great, it works.

However, now I am running 11.2 on JDK 8. I have started 11.2 on JDK 8 and I
register JDK 13 as a Java platform. Now I create a new project and I set
Source/Binary to JDK 13.

In the above scenario, why does text block support not work, i.e., why is it a
requirement that 11.2 itself must run on JDK 13?

[jira] [Created] (NETBEANS-3167) Exception trying to open a file on a shared drive in Ubuntu

2019-09-26 Thread armien (Jira)
armien created NETBEANS-3167:

Summary: Exception trying to open a file on a shared drive in
Ubuntu
 Key: NETBEANS-3167
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-3167
 Project: NetBeans
  Issue Type: Bug
Affects Versions: 11.1
 Environment: Ubuntu 19.04
GNOME 3.32.1
64bit
32GB ram
Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz × 8
GeForce GTX 1050 Ti/PCIe/SSE2

Reporter: armien
 Attachments: 20190926_ideLog.txt, 20190926_uiLog.xml

Hi

I opened a file on the shared drive, scrolled down and then did a ctrl-B on an
include file (<%@ include file).

I waited for quite a while before the file opened. I suspected that the network
share was dodgy, so I went into Dolphin file manager and navigated the folder
structure of the share and didn't find any issue there

So if you are running NB in JDK-13 , and now create a new `project. Project
will get created with  Source/Binary set to JDK-13. by default

Only if someone had an old project and wants to use text-block, then they have
to change Source/binary to JDK-13 along with run time to JDK-13.

[jira] [Commented] (NETBEANS-3164) JDK 13 preview feature not working correctly in 11.2beta1

If 11.2 is running on JDK 8, I would expect lambdas to work if I have
Source/Binary set to JDK 8 and text blocks to work if I have Source/Binary set
to JDK 13.

But it seems this is not correct — I must run 11.2 on JDK 13 and also have
Source/Binary set to JDK 13. I’m just trying to understand why that is the case
and if we can do something about it.

Consider similar situation

NB is running in JDK-8 and you are using lambda expression. Will you be able to
compiler the file always?

Runnable run = () -> {
 throw new UnsupportedOperationException("Not supported yet."); };

No, you will get below error if you had set Source/Binary format to 1.7

(use -source 8 or higher to enable lambda expressions)

JDK support is available from JDK-13 onward.

If someone is running NB with JDK-13 , by default project created will have
Source/Binary format id JDK-13.(i.e., --source 13). So no issue in running
Text-Block in JDK-13

You will get the same below error if someone tries to compile the file in
JDK-13 in command prompt. but source version is different

/bin/java --enable-preview --source 8 NewClass.java
error: invalid source release 8 with --enable-preview
(preview language features are only supported for release 13)
 error: compilation failed

Point is NB is not restricting the user from using Text Block in older jdk
source version, restriction is from java itself.

Is NetBeans itself required to run on JDK 13 for text block (and other JDK 13
features)? If so, why? Shouldn’t compiling and running my application on JDK 13
be enough?
