Re: Another so suitable for freeruner?

But if you wanna port Android onto the new OpenMoko.
I'm sure GNUtoo will be pleased to do this too, as soon
as he got a new OpenMoko.

Guys,

For those of you interested in running/building/improving Android on the
Freerunner, check out http://code.google.com/p/android-on-freerunner/. Cupcake
is stable and working on the Freerunner. We've recently received some patches
which should have resolved issues with sound via Bluetooth (thanks to Zhang
Yi). Froyo is still under construction. Ran and Jim are working on some patches
to improve the Froyo branch. Cupcake and Froyo are now available in SD only or
NAND installations (thanks to Christian and Ran).

The project mailinglist can be found here:
http://groups.google.com/group/android-on-freerunner.

It would be great to see what co-operation is possible with other initiatives
also targetting Android on the Freerunner. Feel free to post your ideas on the
AoF list to discuss with the AoF community.

Kind regards,

Niels.

 Hi,
but.. Is there no QtMoko logo?

Hi,
i have the penguin in egg (can be seen on qtmoko.org or
http://activationrecord.net/radekp/qtmoko/)

I also have nice monkey with qtmoko letters, but i havent found good place for
it...

If someone is interested, I've made a simple logo for QtMoko. [0]
It's just an idea :D ( and I don't know if the green-simple-text Qt is in
some way a copyright violation )
Let me know if you like it ( and if you want the svg ^^ )

Your logo is really nice, svg would be nice too. If you dont mind i have
placed the logo on qtmoko.org

Thanks!

Hi again.
Thank you for your answers. I really hope those interested in android
related work can cooperate and improve together. I say this just as a
humble freerunner user.

Niels,
thank you, I've red what you've written on the board at Replicant website.
I need to clarify that I'm actually not related in any way to Replicant
project, neither I'm the one who has tried to get contacts with aof before
(that's because you couldn't see my email address in your inbox etc); I've
just seen their project and asked them about infos, then I've wondered
about it's knowledge into the openmoko community, because I've never heard
about it on this ml or other related to openmoko. After telling this, I
think teh people of aof, replicant and those interested in them, could go
on with this discussion together on the mailing lists of aof and replicant.
I'll later join the two ml to see if I can be of any help, even I'm not
able to program either my working day... :-P

Thanks to all and sorry if I've used this ml for something which maybe
wasn't so strictly related to it's main discussions

8open didn't seem to be that great of improvement over the standard

 Greetings,
Some weeks ago a new software for Android has come out, the 8pen:

the video clearly introduces a modified/simplified version of
Quickwriting, an open (ie unpatented) input method invented a few
 years ago.

Now they are trying to put a patent on it, even on variations! This is
outrageous, since the idea has already been thought. I think we still
apply against this patent, and move for a request to make it void
 (it's still in pending state).

 Here is the patent request:

Please help the open source community against this ridiculous attempt
to make money on an already invented thing.
 Thanks,

p.s. I already have a working implementation waiting to be pushed, so
 let's not waste time! :-)

Re: qtmoko v28, strange behaviour with the earphones

2010-11-09 Thread Joif

hello
Since I installed the v28 I noticed a strange behaviour with the openmoko
earphones. Maybe it is just a coincidence and my earphones are broken (and
I'm off-topic, sorry :) ) but there is someone else who experienced
anomalies with the earphones and the v28?
What happen to me: if I make or receive a call and the earphones are plugged
in, the sound comes out from both the speaker of the neo and the right
earphone, but very very low for the latter; Headphone volume control from
qalsamixer seems to be inefficient; if during the call I switch from
handset to speakerphone, the sound comes out from both the speakerphone
and the right earphone but this time very very loud. If I use qmplayer to
play a song the sound comes out from both the speakerphone and the right
earphone, qmplayer volume controls affects both.
There is someone else with this strange behaviour with v28 and the
earphones? Otherwise... I have to suppose that my earphones are broken :)

Only Nikolaus does, who is working on getting

I do not need 2 freerunner for this project.
You do not even need one gta02.
You just need ONE gta04 ;-)

we have just one board yet and the SDRAM is not working
properly. We did suspect a soldering issue with the
fine-pitch OMAP processor. Today we were lucky
to find someone to do X-Ray right on the Electronica
fair ground to demonstrate what they can do.

Here is the machine and the X-Ray result:

http://download.goldelico.com/gta04/images/2009%20Xray/

So it does look ok and we have to find the SDRAM problem
at a different place.
