I don't see em, they might have not gotten through if you got NO reply.  I
know we often go off track on the list, but I've rarely seen people ignored
and I don't think it was ever done purposely.

Fact is, it was an iPad users problem and iPads are only on ATT..it didn't
happen to all their phones on the network, just the iPad.

Right, I forgot, bad code on MS means incompetence, bad code and security
fixes on Apple is a feature.

  That breach of security and privacy was a problem for iPad users and
should not be dismissed as such simply upon the basis that Apple was
not the culprit.  It will probably not be the last of the personal
data breaches either.

  A fellow I know who works for the FAA has to travel all over the
country on business.  He likes his iPhone and iPad, but has to always
take another phone with him on those trips because he cannot depend on
the service provided by ATT.  His big wish is that he could choose
another service provider.  He does not like the freedom of not
having to choose.

 Apple may have contracts that force them to use ATT exclusively for who
knows how long.   Other places have multiple carriers with the iPhones and

Exactly my point. The ATT servers have a problem and you make a bizarre twist 
of logic to somehow try to tar Apple with the ATT problem.

I read the hacker blog post about iPad Safari. It demonstrates that the hacker 
has no idea about the structure of iOS. He thinks he is attacking Windows.

  Sure, but as far as I know you have to muck around with things, like
cutting SIM cards.  Most folks aren't gonna get into doing that kind
of stuff, especially since the iPad is designed and marketed to be
particularly attractive to non-techie types.

It's easier than that it just may not be cheaper.  A Mifi box from Verizon
is a portable personal mobile wifi hot spot for something like $50/month but
you can use a cheap wifi only iPad plus the mifi is good for 5 connections.

This is the gizmo that they think did in the iPhone demo last week.  They

  Not really.  Founding members of the Wi-Fi Alliance smaintain that
the term Wi-Fi has no meaning.  The moniker of wireless fidelity
was created by the general public. mostly print media and internet
reporter types, and is pretty much considered to be predicated upon
high fidelity.  If you think about it, wireless fidelity actually
makes no sense at all.
