2020-05-07 Thread James McKane via CoTyroneList
Just found this online -
https://www.culturenorthernireland.org/article/1185/a-brief-history-of-ardboe

A History of Ardboe Parish, Co Tyrone
The old monastic church at Ardboe was founded by St Colman in the year 590.
On the maps that were drawn up for the purposes of the plantation of Ulster
in 1609, Ardboe appears as Munterevlin iochtar and Munterevlin vachtar,
meaning the upper and lower O’Devlin territory. The lands belonging to the
church at the time of the plantation were passed to the Protestant
Archbishop of Armagh, and the secular lands came into possession of one of
the stewards, Lord Octiltree.

[CoTyroneMailingList] Multi-Maps Link on CTI

2019-01-27 Thread James McKane via CoTyroneList
Hello Katie & Carmen - the link to the new map works just fine Maps - added
Tyrone - Number of British Families 1622 Survey

However, the link *Tyrone - Multi-Map provides good maps* is no longer
valid. Apparently the site changed their whole setup which has negated
these links completely. After checking a number of website through a very
details Google search, I have determined there are many sites with broken
links to Multi-Map caused by these changes.

If anyone out there has any solution, please let me know asap.

At the moment I am removing this item from our menu.

Thanks for pointing it out,
Jim

So Sorry but I completely misunderstood. I thought you were referring to
the new map just placed on the site.

I can only assume Multimap has made some changes which negate the page
references. I will investigate but there are other townland, etc maps
available on CTI as well.

Thanks for pointing this out,

Hi Bob - basically, I send you a spreadsheet with a link to a page on the
website; then you type the Surnames, Firstnames, Maiden Names into the
spreadsheet which are shown on that page. Once complete you send the sheet
back to me.

If you are still interested, please email me off-list at jamck...@gmail.com

Thanks for coming forward,
