Any movement on this / acknowledgement on the issue / impending resolution.

Would prefer not to be kept in the dark and be told if Valve is aware of
this issue and if they're working on a fix, if so, when.

I'm having to migrate customers to Windows per request... makes me feel
dirty.

Same here, now tick128 the var goes up to 3 and starts going yellow instead
of being steady white and no more than 2,5 the most. Performance went
definitely in bad direction.

Since the update we are seeing 0.5-1.2 which is a significant

It seems the advantage Linux had over Windows is gone, the same
variance is being seen on both platforms.

We have even tested a new E3-1240v3 with an SSD running just one
 server, no luck.

Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS w/ 3.2 lowlatency kernel. No improvement using
 the 3.5 or 3.8 kernels.

 Anyone else having similar issues?

 Cheers.

It's clear they're not on the list, and just have a bunch of their

looking into it, maybe in the wrong places, but at least someone's on
it.

This is exactly the reason why i stopped using workshop. Either the map
download takes ages or it doesn't happen at all or similiar that you get.
Download speeds are also horrible slow. It's all quite random. One moment it
works, on the other, no.

Each one gets to 4.096Mb and then hangs. Had to remove them all from

where it locks while getting the other 60 maps fine, leads me to
believe its a workshop bug for sure.

 Current example is de_keystone.

Trying to setup a new dedicated and it hangs on the download
from the workshop. This happens often with what seems to be
 random maps.

It downloads 4Mb worth of tmp data, and hangs. Currently been
hanging for 2+ hours, waiting to continue.

The only solution is to go in, remove the map from the
collection, and go add it back in a day or two and then it
 downloads.

Ido, any idea what we can do here or if there is anything
 being done?

Also to point out, I copied the map from another server that
is currently running it and the new dedicated still tries to
download it overwriting the one that was copied. Tried
 deleting cache with no luck.

Re: [Csgo_servers] [csgo_server] Workshop - New server - Download hangs on old map

2013-12-03 Thread Will Graham
Downloading the map from a separate location (such as CDN or FTP), even if
originally sourced from Workshop (via another server or client), it still
attempts to download and overwrite the copy that exists locally.

We love Workshop because it allows client synchronization of maps and
maplists without download or version conflicts but this issue is crippling
our ability to use the service.

Thanks,

Will
