[Csgo_servers] MOTD not visible for some users

2016-12-08 Thread Team LANII
Hi,
I am not sure if this is a server sided problem, but since the last update
instead of the actual MOTD a grey area is shown. This happens to a lot of
users, but not all. Is there a workaround or a fix planned?
Thanks

No crashes on Linux since the optional update for us. Maybe it is Windows
related?

I can confirm your observation, there is an increase in cheaters on our
servers too. Those are often blatant cheats like spinbots. There needs to
be something done about that. If it is true that VAC is not working on
communityservers then this is a major issue.

The question is not if it is a good thing to do, or the best way to do it.
The fact alone that there are hosters out there that do it this way is
problematic enough to discuss it, as it is a potential problem for innocent

hope Valve can say something about it.

If you use the same account -> banned from creating
If you use a 2nd account (with the phonenumber from the 1st acc) -> phone
number is not qualified (while the account itself, with another
phonenumber, could be)

Your phonenumber is banned from using for token creation, it unfortunately
was like this from the beginning onwards. If you have a banned account you
need a new number to create GSLTs with another account.

Its not worth running servers where you don't have any clue what
you got banned for. This isn't like clients where there is an
 expectation
for them to be unmodified. Community servers are generally modified to
give the players something different to experience. But we don't know

API calls magically get us banned.

THAT is a blatant lie.
Our servers did comply at all times. I wrote the steamsupport, they won't
lift the ban, because "they cannot do that". All I get is default messages,
copy I have no possibility to get my falsely banned account back.

2016-01-27 Thread Team LANII
I am so freakin done with how Valve runs their multimillion(-billion?)
dollar company. It is absolutely disgusting how every time they fuck up
something so hard, they do not even care about collateral damage. This is a
joke, there isn't even a place to get support, their own support system
nowhere lists "GSLTs" as subject. I had some sympathies left for Valve
until this day, but that's enough. They are mutually destroying the CS
communityservers, the community, which lead to the success in first plays.
If it wasn't for communityserveroperators, CS would not even have reached a
big enough audience to be brought to light to Valve, which now make more
than 240M$ in 2015 alone off of CS:GO. I'm done.

If it were from reports, how could we ever defend ourselves? A reasonably
large community could use its members to bring the server of another,

2016-01-27 Thread Team LANII
DHooks should be legal, "Always Weapon Plugin" depends on it and seems to
be fine (Another server with a GSLT from another account with "Always
Weapon Plugin", "DHooks" but NO "GiveNamedItemEx" runs just fine).
It would be nice if Valve was so kind to release a list of banned plugins.
Please.

2016-01-27 Thread Team LANII
It looks like Valve banned the "GiveNamedItemEx" plugin, which was used in
combination with the "Always Weapon Plugin", which itself is considered
legal. Unfortunately "GiveNamedItemEx" can be used in conjunction with
other plugins that allow viewing skins that are not their own. This means
that Valve went the easy way and did ban the simple "root" plugin
"GiveNamedItemEx" and not only the problematic plugins itself. This seems
to be the reason why our tokens where banned, while we were only providing
the players allowed actions (viewing their own AK skin on CT side).

Aditionally: Have a look at the changelog of AWS (
https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=237114):

Version 2.2.2
- Merged GiveNamedItemEx (removed dependency)
- Fixed crashes on Linux
- Added cvar aws_skipmapweapons
- Moved to transitional syntax

Which means that before 2.2.2 there were a dependency on the now unapproved
GiveNamedItemEx (https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=264320)

Hi,
our gameserver account was falsely banned. We DO NOT RUN ANY plugin that
give players weapons that they DO NOT own. We do run "always weapon
plugin", a plugin, that gives the player HIS ak from HIS OWN inventory when
playing CT, for example (
https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=237114 ).
Where do I voice my convern for this false ban? Which emailaddresses should
I write to?
Thanks.

They come from this reddit post by Wickedplayer

which is just copy pasted from this mailing list I'm like 99% sure. Plus
Wickedplayer's pretty trustworthy and on top of such things.

Anyway contact them. Be polite and respectful (even if you think it's
bullshit) say you're sorry for any oversight in what you thought you could
or could not do and if there is anything you can do to be unbanned.

No guarantee if anything will happen or they'll even bother to reply
 but worth a shot.

I will say I personally think the system is designed wrong. Maybe not
inherently in that GSLT exist but the unspecified bans and no way to appeal
is super stupid. Plus scanning and banning for disabled plugins feels
 pretty overkill.

[Csgo_servers] Always Weapon Skin Plugin - will it get me banned?

2015-10-15 Thread Team LANII
Hi,

I want to make sure that I comply to the new rules, so:
Is the "Always Weapon Skin Plugin" (
https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=237114) allowed or will it
get me banned? This plugins enables players on the server to always have
their own skins, even though they are on the "wrong" side. So a CT having
an AK (through a DM plugin for example) will have his own AK skin (if he
owns one), which is usually impossible.

Thanks,

You are a bitter man in the hour of celebration...

Yeah I'm laughing my ass off while my players complain about not being
able to connect to our servers all day long.
I'm celebrating spending thousands of dollars every year on servers that
nobody can even join 10 times a day.

Eijzi, they have a sense of humor. You should have one as well, since
 you're watching suits.

 Cheers CSGO! Happy birthday!

Basically: Zeus was changed to make people party with it (it has a new
sound effect and custom particles, now costs $100), and a whole bunch of
 other anniversary silliness.

  Hi,

I know there was an update to prevent DDOSing, but I don't need that for
my public servers. Is there a cvar to deactive it, so that I can see which
players are on my server? I only see Max Players in the serverinfo
instead. In HLSW I only see questionsmarks.

  Thanks in advance
