Re: [Csgo_servers] CS2 dedicated servernotes?

2023-09-09 Thread Vi
You're...correct. I apologize on that aspect. I do not know much about
dota and completely forgot about the whole ordeal between dota s1 and
dota s2. nonetheless, i still wouldnt think they would do that again,
because unlike dota, cs has a history of things like community servers
(im sure dota does too, but i dont know how those work unlike how all
the others do, so i will not act like i do) that would be affected by
such a change, thus, id presume theyd try and aleast mitigate some of
the downfalls, even if, god forbid, it ends up like how csgo demo viewer
is (a branch of the main game, that is unmaintained and forgotten, but
aleast with some sort of multiplayer, since the version of the csgo
SRCDS would still be avaliable in some aspect, and not lost media) .

i understand your worries. try and keep hopes up.

Re: [Csgo_servers] CS2 dedicated servernotes?

2023-09-08 Thread Vi
This is unlikely from valve. For example, when artifact tried having a
remake to improve the game, they instead split the game into two apps,
where both includes each other. This is more likely than a full
delisting, and would make sense with the track record that Valve has.
Valve is not one to pull a service offline, even if it ends up being
abandoned. If you have a source of otherwise, please share. Otherwise,
hoping for the worst like that is not the best situation.

Re: [Csgo_servers] CS2 dedicated servernotes?

2023-09-06 Thread Vi
I do think a lack of communication is what is causing it. Its very
unlikely valve will actually remove the game altogether, but we still do
not know what their plan for the future  of csgo is (migration to a new
appid? make it a branch like demo viewer csgo? will matchmaking be shot
down (very unlikely, artifact still has MM servers!)?) still, it
shouldn't be the biggest worry, since the original deadline of "summer"
is already long passed, and so at this point i hope that it takes /even
more time /for the game to finish. its a lot of work for a company built
like valve, and rushing it is never a good option.

As for cs2 community servers, i don't know exactly having them up will
benefit, considering there's no browser server, and things like
lua-vscript and workshop submitted cs2 maps arent finalized.

Patience pays off. Pray for the best.

Its showing progress, the normal release schedule shows that csgo gets a
major update once a year, and since its getting close to when its
released, and with the (known) observations of it working under s2, id
say give it until then. Otherwise, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, it happens when it happens

every subscription "package" is listed on steamdb,

you access to https://steamdb.info/app/624820/ , which seems related.

On the new account, I am hosting several games, including:

Using the manageme game servers page

For TF2 (which IS free-to-play) I just punched-in appid 440 and
