[css-d] background disappears on link hover in IE

2005-09-09 Thread David Wang
Hi guys,

I've got a problem in IE (what else is new right?). Please have a look at my
page (http://david.itchyhands.com) while I explain the problem.

In Internet Explorer, when you hover on the links under 'freshest' or
'schedule', part of the background disappears. What's going on? How do I fix
it? Thanks heaps in advance.

David

[css-d] Absolutely positioned menu displays in FF but not IE

2005-06-28 Thread David Wang
Hi,

The site I'm working on has an absolutely positioned menu at the top of each
page. However, within the markup, the menu is actually at the end of the
page. The menu (#smenu) shows correctly in Firefox but not in IE. It's
easier for me to show you my problem than put in into words, so please point
IE and Firefox to http://beta.quattro.com.my to observe the problem. Now you
see it (in Firefox), now you don't (in IE).

My CSS file is located at http://beta.quattro.com.my/assets/styles.css

I'm actually trying to emulate the menu positioning from Doug Bowman's
Stopdesign (I only refer, never copy). In his site, Doug places #cnav right
at the top with absolute positioning, but within the markup it is actually
down at the footer.

What am I doing wrong? How can I make IE display the menu?

Any help is much appreciated,

David

[css-d] Repeating header in IE5

2005-05-08 Thread David Wang
Hi guys,

This is my first time mailing in a query to the list. Please bear with me.

I'm working on a freelance web design project for a client. In my agreement
I've stated that the site will be compatible with IE6+ and better. However,
they're not very tech-savvy are not sure how to download the latest version
of IE or Firefox and I don't have the time to go to their office just to
install new browsers for them.

The problem is that the page displays properly in IE6 as promised, but
they're seeing a repeating header in IE5. The site in question is located at
(still on a test location): http://homebaked.itchyhands.com/alun/cinta/
CSS file: http://homebaked.itchyhands.com/alun/assets/css/styles.css

Why does the header repeat in IE5? How difficult is it to fix and should I
bother fixing it at all?

Any help is much appreciated,

David

Re: [css-d] Repeating header in IE5

Hi Lothar,

Thanks for looking at my site. You can see a screenshot of the site in IE5
at http://homebaked.itchyhands.com/alun/alun-wrong.jpg

The bug is intermittent. Sometimes it only appears when you scroll down and
then scroll back up. It's really weird and I'm at a lost at why it happens.

Thanks.

David
(hates IE5 even more now)

Can't see the problem here. Looks ok on Win XP SP2 in:
 Firefox 1.0.3, Mozilla 1.7.7, Opera 7.54, IE 5.01, IE 5.5 an IE 6.02.
 No header-repeat at all.
