So-called "representitive" democracy is a fraud and a sham. It isn't democracy. It isn't even representative, especially as long as artificial people have more representation than real people. You could not be more right. Some time ago I had a conversation with our local MP regarding the Dangerous Dogs Act, and I wanted to know why he voted against it, when it was clear and obvious that his constituents wanted him to vote for it as our representative in parliament. His answer was quite an education! He maintains that he is NOT our representative in parliament at all! He is a member of the conservative party and will always vote the way that the party office wants him to. If our views coincide with his own, great, if not, tough luck. He further maintains that when we vote in a general election, we are voting for a political party, not for an MP. Therefore, he will always follow his own agenda, regardless of the interests of his constituents. This is what we call democracy. It is a farce. This is something that I wrote in response to a 'Judas' Question on another list I would like to share a few thoughts about the above with you and would welcome your comments. Most people on this list, having read the available literature on the subject would probably agree that Jesus was deliberately manipulating his last days in order to conform to the OT prophesies, for whatever motive. We will never know the full story and speculation, though interesting, does not actually add to our sum of knowledge. However, as speculation is all that we have, I would like to put the following points forward for consideration. Jesus had surrounded himself with loyal and trusted disciples. There were many more than the 12 that we know of, but most of these appear to have been sent out on missionary work, leaving the 'elite' to form part of his retinue. His 'triumphal' entry into Jerusalem was obviously stage managed and seems to have been done to create as much attention as possible. As indeed did the incidents at the temple. It appears to me that he was attempting to get himself arrested. As we know, this did not happen. Assuming for the moment that my interpretation is correct, at the last supper he must have started to become anxious that the prophesies would not be fulfilled and he needed to help things along. If you needed someone to do a particularly unpleasant thing, something that would otherwise been seen as a betrayal, who would you ask to do it?. Your most loyal and trusted companion of course. And how would you do it?. By telling everyone what was required and then nominating your chosen candidate. Could this not have happened here? Look at the reaction of Judas when handed the sop. "Must it be me Lord?" or words to that effect. "Yes, do what you must do and do it quickly". At which point Judas leaves the room and has been vilified for two thousand years. Also, his subsequent actions seem to attest to his loyalty. After 'betraying ' Jesus and obtaining 30 pieces of silver, he promptly gives it back! Hardly the action of a traitorous mercenary. And then he apparently commits suicide. If Jesus did not want to be betrayed, he had sufficient numbers to restrain any traitor, particularly as he apparently knew who it was and when he would do it. But rather than do this he encourages his own betrayal. This is simply not logical. His very words and actions in the garden on the night of his arrest are those of a deeply troubled person who knows what is about to happen. His 'traitor' has been well briefed as to rendezvous, timing and identification. And that kiss. Why? Would it not have been easier to point Jesus out "That's him over there in the grey robe" or something like that. I would have thought that the kiss was either from Judas to say "I have done as you asked Lord, may God forgive me.", or from Jesus "Thank you for doing the hardest thing that I have ever asked any man to do". It is my contention, at present, that Judas, far from being the traitor of popular belief, was in fact a brave, loyal and compassionate hero. He did what he did knowing the likely consequences simply because he believed in Jesus and what he stood for. However, it has been pointed out that the purpose of this list is serious research and some valuable work is being done. That may well be the case, I don't know. IF this is a serious discussion list, then when someone posts an unsupported 'fact', it is not at all unreasonable for someone else to ask for a source or verifiable reference for this 'fact'. This is perfectly normal procedure and should come as no surprise to anyone. If, on the other hand, you are going to allow ( and believe) any old rubbish that someone decides is of merit, the list will have no credibility at all and you may as well rename it as 'Conspiracy Fantasy Research List'. Yesterday, I asked Duncan to provide some evidence for a claim he was making. Up to now I have had no response apart from a rather cryptic ' you can take a horse to water' message. I must therefore conclude that his claims are false and he should withdraw them. The above quotation is of a similar vein, I would like to see a valid source for this claim, and I will be more than surprised if one is found. I know that some people will not like my style and find me offensive, I can live with that, but if you don't like what I write, don't open my posts. I am not attacking any individual poster, I always try to play the ball, not the man, but if you are going to forward posts that are plain silly, then you can get what you deserve. (In my opinion.) Similarly I am not happy with any existing religious explanations for where life on Earth came from. This sentence clearly shows your own lack of understanding of evolution. There is nothing random about it. It is called the evolution of species through natural selection, and it means exactly what it says on the tin. Assuming the two choices we are given, ie science or religion are both incomplete (or downright wrong), we are only left with one alternative: a) life was seeded here either accidentally or deliberately by other life forms from elsewhere in the omniverse (an omniverse being more than one 'space-time continuum universe [multidimensional]) OK clever guy, where did the life come from that 'seeded here'? b) many original lifeforms were (either accidentally or deliberately) erased at various intervals (the 5 mass extinctions) and 'replaced' with newer improved models. Using the fossil record (remember also that fossils happen as a result of sudden catastrophes, ie catastrophism) we find NO transitional species, only complete unique lifeforms. Again, you have an incomplete understanding of this subject. c) i conclude that we started off with many more species and lifeforms on this planet than we have now. If the theory of evolution is wrong, then this also means that the huge number of lifeforms present on Earth right now are the 'left overs' of what was not removed during the mass extinctions. All life on Earth may well be just 5-10% of what was orginally 'put' here. Given mass extinctions, asteroid impacts, climatic change, ice ages, solar flares, diseases, interbreeding, wars, earthchanges and the like, I'd say we would be lucky to have even 10% of the original number of varieties. The question now is whether life on Earth is a result of accidental contamination, or deliberate germination. And that just applies to physicality. How does one explain intellect, emotions, spiritual experiences, psychic experiences etc via a evolutionary process? Conspiracy theories are flourishing in this void of understanding our origins. Creationists conspired to suppress scientists. Scientists now conspire to suppress information that contradicts its own dogmas. Anomalous and contradictory information should be used to further our understanding of life, not hidden away to protect vested academic and financial interests. Maybe it is time to listen to the records of the indigenous cultures of this planet. They ALL basically say the same thing. 1) Beings from the stars came here and created us/interbred with us 2) We had advanced civilisations in our distant past 3) We have had regular sudden catastrophes which have reshaped the face of our Earth, causing civilisations to disappear completely, and restart elsewhere. What is so silly with the above scenario - it fits ALL the existing and the suppressed information that we know of?
