Re: [darktable-user] How to remove red flare from photo

2016-08-30 Thread Jos

Hi thokster,

I didn't know that was possible. It works now.

I was able to get rid of the flare in the image by taking the steps that
Stéphane described.

I learned a lot today.

Again, Tanks to all!

Happy that it suited you.

To avoid flare next time, have you got a lens hood ? It not or if the
light source appears in the frame, you can prevent flare to some
extent by hiding light source with a finger or hand. In some cases you
can consider taking two shots : one hiding the sun, the other not, and
mix both in postprocessing. Best used with a tripod.

Have a nice day!

Re: [darktable-user] How to remove red flare from photo

2016-08-28 Thread Matthieu Moy
Spot removal alone is painful if the flare covers a large area. Another thing
to try is spot removal with blend -> uniformly -> color, to pick the color from
another part of the image but keep the contrast info. In this case, it removes
the red but unfortunately leaves an overly light area, which could probably be
corrected with contrast/brightness/saturation and a drawn mask, but I'm not
getting so good results.

Re: [darktable-user] How to remove red flare from photo

2016-08-28 Thread Jason Polak
Not perfect, but depending how large this clip is in the main image you
could try a quick and dirty adjustment using the 'color zones' module to
adjust the red hues closer to the colour of the sweater. I included a
quick hack that I did, combining saturation, lightness, and hue tabs to
reduce the effect. With more patience you may be able to produce a
slightly better result.
