Re: [darktable-user] New Module Ordering
No need to apologize. You didn't sound as you were complaining :) In fact, I think you were really helpful with your screenshots. Re: [darktable-user] New Module Ordering
I think you nailed it: You're using a development build and changes are expected. You can understand the rationale behind this change in this PR: https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/pull/5683 Cheers, Rafa El vie., 16 oct. 2020 a las 10:02, jys () escribió: > On Thu, Oct 15, 2020, at 23:48, KOVÁCS István wrote: > > > > It would have been nice to migrate existing favourites and add enabled > > modules to the respective categories automatically; now a few thousand > > people will have to re-add their modules. > > When first viewing the new group manager window, there was a preset named > something like "previous groups" which has your original settings. When first viewing the new group manager window, there was a preset named something like "previous groups" which has your original settings. If you want to keep them, you can save that as a named preset. I agree, though, that it would be nice to make this transition a little bit smoother before the next release, rather than the somewhat disorienting way it works now... but don't forget that you're using a development build... you should be prepared for things like that. :-) -- jys darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to darktable-user+unsubscr...@lists.darktable.org

See: https://www.smugmug.com/gallery/n-PKTkkn/ It would have been nice to migrate existing favourites and add enabled modules to the respective categories automatically; now a few thousand people will have to re-add their modules. Re: [darktable-user] New Module Ordering
At the top of the module stack, on the right-hand side, there is a presets icon. Click on it and select manage presets. I added a legacy layout and put my favorites in there. Trying to explain in detail what to do would be a lot of work. Play with it, and post questions if you don't figure it out. Re: [darktable-user] New Module Ordering
Thanks Patrick ... just the information that Ineed. However I do not see the way to add the new column or the add other modules to any of the columns. What is the trick that I am missing? I would be interested to know why the favorite column was deleted, or if it still could be added. why don't you just add a column. I did it, MyFav, and populated it with modules I frequently use. it also may be posible to edit that to add off-the-wall modules in a second column just for access. and a second mouse clink on the "header" icon, MyFav in my case, provides a larger, more complete listing of modules. darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to darktable-user+unsubscr...@lists.darktable.org

[darktable-user] New Module Ordering
Manjaro/Arch ..XFCE ... Daily git. The latest way of ordering the modules eliminates the 'favorites' column. I had previously placed all of my common modules in that column and rarely had to switch to other columns during basic processing. With the new ordering system I can delete items in a column but cannot add items. This forces the user to always work with multiple columns even when working with simple images. I would be interested to know why the favorite column was deleted, or if it still could be added.
