I don't understand "repairs correctly". dt on start will recreate
necessary config files, but I am sure it will not interrogate your system
to make "corrections". and I do not believe that "user.css" is a
necessary file unless *you* plan on making css changes on your box.

This is the location where I have mine located on both systems but on
the rebuilt machine the color scheme is totally different.

Thanks for your idea Patrick ... I will run dt without the user.css and
see if it repairs correctly.

functioning. None are satisfactory.

on linux, the correct user css file would be:
~/.config/darktable/user.css

My second system is displaying correctly the recent amended file with the
'orange' highlights but copying over the user.css file from that system did
not solve the problem.

have no idea to what you refer ???

Any idea where to look and fix the problem?

no.

I can provide my user.css if you wish, or you can run dt w/o a user.css
and it should be fine.

note: dt recreates missing configuration files when started:
~/.config/darktable/

[darktable-user] user.css file question

2022-05-08 Thread David Vincent-Jones
On a new (Manjaro/Arch/git) system build my backup of the user.css file
appears to be incorrect. I find that I have apparently several versions
located in the /.config/darktable folder and I m not even sure which one
is functioning. None are satisfactory.

My second system is displaying correctly the recent amended file with
the 'orange' highlights but copying over the user.css file from that
system did not solve the problem.

Any idea where to look and fix the problem?
