Re: debian-installer and braille table selection
Hi Samuel, Thanks so much for your fast removal of the bug :-). As I read on http://www.debian.org/devel/join/newmaint.en.html, you might not be an official developer. Have you talked to the Debian developers about your changes? Mario Lang reads along in this list as far as I know. Maybe he can comment on this as he is the maintainer of BRLTTY. Best Regards and many thanks for your effort. Simon -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

To clarify one point, he maintains the Debian BRLTTY package, but not BRLTTY itself. BRLTTY itself is currently maintained by Dave Mielke. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: debian-installer and braille table selection
Hi Samuel, In official images no, indeed. But it is fixed in my image, isn't it? At my first try I did not carry out the installation completely, but cancelled it after selecting the Braille table and the language. Then, the Braille display was connected via a serial port. Although I entered install brltty=ht,ttyS0,de at the boot prompt, BRTTLY was started with the US Braille table. After selecting the language I had expected my input to be carried out at the boot prompt and that the Braille table would only have to be chosen when the Braille display is connected via USB. BRLTTY was installed correctly and was available instantly after the installation :-). You can fix this bug in the official images, can't you? Re: debian-installer and braille table selection
Hi Samuel, I've implemented a braille table selection menu in debian-installer, so that USB braille device users can just plug their device, boot a debian installation CD, choose the language/country, and then choose the braille table. I've built a beta mini iso: http://brl.thefreecat.org/mini.iso Could some people test it? I downloaded the image and successfully tested it with the Braille star of the Handy Tech company. Is this upgrade already accessible in the daily built images and will it be included in the official installer? BTW: the bug 373118 (http://bugs.debian.org/373118) has not yet been eliminated as the test with the netinst CD of 05-Sep-2006 02:09 has shown. Great :D Is this upgrade already accessible in the daily built images and will it be included in the official installer? Mario needs to upload a new brltty first. If this happens soon enough, it will be included in the official installer.
