Yes, basically you can sent new translation files to those bugreports (example: sent them to 890...@bugs.debian.org for the eject translation), as long as the bugreport is not closed (look at the webpage of that report). However, the bugreport may have been closed in the meantime (like 890078 for tasksel, which has already been closed by bubulle). So you need to file a new one for such translation update. Dear Holger, Thank you for filing the bug reports! Translations are proper, however they are going to be reviewed by a reviewer for any mistakes I could miss for a production quality. I think I will provide reviewed translations within a couple of days. Should I use the same links below to resubmit the bugs in case of updated files with improved translations. Have a nice day! Also, having the translation complete does *not* mean that you'll immediately see it when testing D-I. It needs each individual package to be uploaded with the included translation, whether it is ofr levels 1, 2 or 3. For level 1, that depends on uploads I do on a semi-regular basis. For levels 2 and 3, it depends on each package maintainer. Moreover, given the way D-I works, several packages that are used are used from testing, so it needs those packages to also migrate from unstable to testing. signature.asc Description: PGP signature

RE: New Language Process for Tajik: missing status update?
Dear Holger, Thank you so much for the details. And it is also nice to hear that Tajik language is not among new languages anymore for Debian ). Due to ongoing Tajik language reforms and improvements, It may take a long time, but I do pass Tajik translations for Debian installer through the government linguistics expertise to make sure that everything is in compliance with new language laws, regulations and terminology control. The procedure is not quick, but since there are no deadlines, so there is nothing to worry about, as it may take months or more. After that procedure Debian can be considered as validated product regarding the Tajik translations and ready-to-use on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan as fully localized. I keep records on this process and will reflect them in my scientific research work. Hope in the future this work can be found as a useful experience for any localization projects, both commercial and non-commercial. I expect that verified terminology and translated strings will also become available on the official website of local language authority organization to grow an official English to Tajik IT dictionary. This is documented here: https://d-i.alioth.debian.org/doc/i18n/ch03.html The NLP for Tajik has happened in 2013, but it has forgotten be completed somehow, which is now done. > How the language is supported after the "NLP - Done" status? As all the other languages, translators are encouraged to keep their translation up-to-date, which you are working on. BTW: there are some more sublevels to complete ;-))) And translation is included is in the installer, that's it :-) Cheers Holger > Thank you so much, > Victor > > -Original Message- > From: Holger Wansing [mailto:li...@wansing-online.de] > Sent: Tuesday, February 6, 2018 2:24 PM > To: debian-boot@lists.debian.org > Subject: Re: New Language Process for Tajik: missing status update? > > Hi, > > Holger Wansing <li...@wansing-online.de> wrote: > > > > > > So, any objection for me setting Tajik NLP status to 'done'? > > > > NLP status for Tajik set to done now. > > > Holger > > > -- > > Created with Sylpheed 3.5.1 under > D E B I A N L I N U X 9 " S T R E T C H " . > > Registered Linux User #311290 - https://linuxcounter.net/ > > > -- Created with Sylpheed 3.5.1 under D E B I A N L I N U X 9 " S T R E T C H " . RE: New Language Process for Tajik: missing status update?
Dear Holger, Could you please, provide some more details about the NLP status as "done" for Tajik? How the language is supported after the "NLP - Done" status? New Language Process for Tajik: missing status update?
Hi, Victor Ibragimovwrote: > Dear Holger, > > I have just committed files with improved Tajik translations. Since we got a translation update for Tajik, and Victor is working to get it to 100% for level 1, we can assume, that this language is no longer "prospective", right ? :-) Status of Tajik at https://d-i.alioth.debian.org/doc/i18n/languages.html is currently "tools". It seems the New Language Process for Tajik is stalled somehow, so I would like to get it finished now (only a theoretical part though, since Tajik is nearly active in d-i). Info on this process is at https://d-i.alioth.debian.org/doc/i18n/ch03.html. In another mail Victor has shown, that he is capable of using tools for po files, he even managed to merge several po files into one big project and the like. So I think nlp_step 'tools' is done. The next step would be to ask Victor to subscribe to mailinglist . Victor: if not already done, could you please subscribe to this mailinglist, so that we can reach you easily, in case this is needed? After that, the last steps would be: "Announcement of the translation effort", which could be done with this mail: Hey guys, Tajik translation for debian-installer is nearly complete, just for your information. :-) ... and "Follow the Debian Installer development", which is also nearly done, looking at the translation status. So, any objection for me setting Tajik NLP status to 'done'? Regards Holger -- Created with Sylpheed 3.5.1 under D E B I A N L I N U X 9 " S T R E T C H " .
