Bug#369757: vncserver: debian/control::Description improvements (vncviewer mentioned twice)

2006-06-01 Thread Jari Aalto
Package: vncserver
Severity: minor

Packages' description reads:

Description: Virtual network computing server software
VNC stands for Virtual Network Computing. It is, in essence, a remote
display system which allows you to view a computing `desktop' environment
not only on the machine where it is running, but from anywhere on the
Internet and from a wide variety of machine architectures.
   .
This package provides a server to which X clients can connect and the
! server generates a display that can be viewed with a vncviewer.
   .
Note: This server does not support or need a display. You need a vncviewer to
! see something. However, this viewer may also be on a computer running other
! operating systems in the local net.

SUGGESTION

The lines marked with (!) should go together. The NOTE only applies to
the first sentence. The description could also give more
information. Perhaps something like:

Note: The server generates completely isolated environment. It does
not support or need a display. This means that it does *not*
provide remote connectivity to already running desktop or window
manager sessions. For that, see packages like x11vnc, vnc4server,
   linuxvnc etc.

In contrast to what it says, the above also affects direct rendering.

However I'm going to try applying the patch and recompliling, so I should

Note that mesa-swx11-source 6.4.2-1 already has the patch applied, so you

Alright, I've built xorg-xserver and everything seems to work fine.

Bug#368051: libarts1c2a: artsd taking 100% CPU on KDE start

2006-06-01 Thread Marcin Juszkiewicz
Package: libarts1c2a
Version: 1.5.3-1
Followup-For: Bug #368051

On my system (up-to-date 'sid' on AthlonXP 2200+) first thing which I have to
do after login is
killing artsd - otherwise system is unusable due to fact that whole CPU power
is wasted by artsd.

Currently I did 'mv artsd artsd-' to not have it started at all (other users of
this machine will
rather complain then kill artsd (lack of any Unix skills)).

For me this bug is rather not 'normal' but more like 'blocker' as it make my
machine too sluggish.

Bug#369756: faxalter: re-scheduling doesn't seem to work

2006-06-01 Thread Paolo
I should add that such jobids are from 'faxstat -s' with status 'W'.
faxrm(1) fails as well on such jids, so it seems they're stale or
'phantoms'.
Anyway, from such faxstat(1), faxalter(1), faxrm(1) I get quite confused.

Also, note that although faxalter fails on JSUSP it exits with status 0
and prints nothing without -v, whereas faxrm complaints.

Bug#369762: debian-goodies: 'debman' is a 'bash' script, crashes in 'dash'.

2006-06-01 Thread A Costa
Package: debian-goodies
Version: 0.23
Severity: normal

My '/bin/sh' is linked to 'dash'. 'debman' does not
run with it:

% debman -f evolution_2.2.3-5_i386.deb evolution ; echo $?
trap: 83: ERR: bad trap
2

However, this works correctly:

% bash /usr/bin/debman -f evolution_2.2.3-5_i386.deb evolution

Looking at the code I believe the bashism is:

grep -n ERR /usr/bin/debman
83:trap 'rm -rf $TEMPDIR' EXIT ERR HUP INT QUIT TERM

...'dash' doesn't understand the 'ERR' signal.

Suggested kludge, if this bashism is necessary:

Change first line from this:

#! /bin/sh -e

to:

#! /bin/bash -e

If it matters, both of these shells worked correctly:

% ksh /usr/bin/debman -f evolution_2.2.3-5_i386.deb evolution
% pdksh /usr/bin/debman -f evolution_2.2.3-5_i386.deb evolution

Hope this helps...

Bug#368816: pine: should have another binary package which have no debian patch

--- Santiago Vila [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

The goal of Debian is to produce the best *free* OS possible, and

Yes, although in non-free, we can only distribute the non-modified pine binary.
The modified binary is not allowed by the license.

There are a few reasons why a non-modified pine is not a good idea:

*) We would not be able to fix any bugs in it, as we would be unable
 to modify it at all.

My purposed solution is to distribute another non-modified pine as a distinct
sub-package name.
pine : the modified pine
pine-orig : the non-modified pine
So, we can still fix bugs in the package named pine, and leave the
non-modified binary version
in pine-orig
for any users who don't want to compile the src themselves.

*) It would hide the real pine even more.

Heh, what is hidden?
It will obviously has two distinct package name.

*) The UW already distributes a debian package for pine.

The *real* problem here is the license of pine, and for that you
should complain to the University of Washington, not to us.

The way pine is distributed in the debian ftp servers is not a secret,
it's documented in the Debian FAQ.

Hmm, sorry for that I haven't tried reading debian FAQ yet.
Thank you very much.

Bug#369759: sendfax: sendfax: wrong kill time computation

2006-06-01 Thread Paolo
Package: hylafax-client
Version: 1:4.2.1
Severity: normal

hi,

I think sendfax(1) fails to correctly compute the max job kill time, i.e.
the opt passed by -k. Namely, while the default seems ok usually, it isn't
when destination is a long list. In such case, sendfax(1) seems to pretend
the whole list should complete in such time frame (normally valid for just
a single job). I think it should instead start a -k time timer per job, at
1st actual job sending attempt.

thanks

Bug#369760: Video problems installing etch on oldworld PowerPC Mac (beige G3)

2006-06-01 Thread Rick Thomas

Package: debian-installer
Severity: Important

I've been trying to test install the etch daily netinst CD on an
oldworld Mac (beige G3) and I can't get off first base because I
can't get the video to co-operate.

I'm using the BootX bootloader under MacOS-9.2.2

Before I begin describing my problems, let me state that I was able
to install sarge using just about any of the available combinations
of video setting in BootX (Force video settings checkbox on or off,
No video driver checkbox on or off, and any one of three settings
for More kernel arguments: -- video=ofonly, , and
video=atyfb:vmode:17,cmode:8) (Does anybody know what the two video
checkboxes translate into in terms of kernel arguments???)

The problem is that, no matter what I set for video options in BootX,
using the debian-testing-powerpc-netinst.iso CD image from

http://cdimage.debian.org/daily-builds/arch-latest/powerpc/iso_cd/

I get unreadable stuff on the screen during the part that should be
kernel messages and evenutally it hangs. I never get to the language
chooser screen at all.

In some cases I get tiny unreadable green text which is duplicated
between the left and right halves of the screen, followed by readable
characters in white saying:

Preparing boot params...
Preparing BAT...
pmac_init(): exit
id mach(): done
MMU: enter
MMU: hw init
hash: enter
hash: find piece
hash: done
MMU: mapin
MMU: setio
MMU: exit

then it hangs.

In other cases (in particular with none of the BootX video checkboxes
set and with kernel args set to video=ofonly) I get a seemingly
random collection of white dots on a black screen (nothing
recognizable as potential kernel messages) and it hangs.

Is the ATI video driver compiled into the kernel on this CD?

Any help will be appreciated...

Thanks!

Rick

Bug#369761: 'man e2fsck.conf' typo: 'creating'

2006-06-01 Thread A Costa
Package: e2fsprogs
Version: 1.39-1
Severity: minor
Tags: patch

Found a typo in '/usr/share/man/man5/e2fsck.conf.5.gz', see attached '.diff'.

Reason:

% man e2fsck.conf | grep -nC 1 creating
9- e2fsck.conf is the configuration file for e2fsck(8). It
controls the
10: default parameters used by e2fsck(8) when it is creating ext2 or
 ext3
11- filesystems.

'e2fsck' checks or repairs file systems, but
creating is 'mkfs.ext2's job.

Hope this helps...

Bug#337424: python-smbpasswd: Uninstallabe, needs binNMU

2006-06-01 Thread Bastian Kleineidam
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi,

it seems that the bad python dependencies of this package are caused by
a broken build. I downloaded the package and the build generated the
correct python dependencies (= 2.3) and ( 2.4), so I think a binary
NMU will get rid of this problem.
I will send a copy to debian-release to request the binary NMU of
python-smbpasswd.

COnfirmed. But then, starting with -nogrey and calling for G (grey) is
contradictory. But still xdvi shouldn't break like this.

I will look into it.

I extraced the first 500k, but they are actually played back without
problems. So I think the problem is the ID3 tag. I resaved the tags in
BMP -- which played the file -- and now the failing file works in
quodlibet, too. So I compared the ID3 tag of a failing file from the
same album with the resaved one:
$ tail -c 128 failing.mp3
[output: see attachement faling.id3]
$ tail -c 128 working.mp3
[see attachement working.id3]

The main difference is that the failing ID3 tag is padded with spaces
(0x20), the working one with zeros (0x00). Also the last character is
0x01 for the working file and 0x02 for the failing one. How can I
provide more info on this as I probably can't send you the whole mp3
beacause of copyright restrictions?

Matthias

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:

Bug#367081: sa-exim: not working with latest spamassassin package

2006-06-01 Thread Richard Burton

From: Sander Smeenk [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I don't really know what might cause this all. Did you change something
in your spamassassin/local.cf? Or maybe made changes to sa-exim.conf?

Nothing in the spamassassin file was changed, and no recent changes to
sa-exim conf.

Or with purging, did you also remove all the config files?

Yep.

I've got past the problem now, though I can't say I've figured out what was
really wrong with it. With the new version of spamassassin (I assume) the
spamd daemon became disabled, and reenabling it has fixed my problem.

However the original problem can't have been that simple, because I
originally saw no connection refused messages in syslog from spamc, but
instead I saw a report of the spam status of each incoming message. Which
was pretty confusing since it made everything look like it was working
perfectly. Anyway, some combination of purging, reinstalling, and playing
with config files has solved the problem.

The only thing I would say is the unknown error message in SA could be a bit
better, after looking at the code and turning up the debug I could see that
unknown error meant more specifically that no X-Spam-Status header was in
what came back from spamc.

Also, it would be nice if spamc could give some feedback as to the problem
it had, perhaps a header to indicate why it didn't actually do anything with
the message, but that's obviously an issue for the developers of that, not
you.

You are welcome to close this bug, I haven't myself just incase you do want
to use it improve the error messages to aid debugging.

Richard.

Bug#369488: quodlibet: Fails to play some mp3s with new gstreamer 0.10.6

2006-06-01 Thread Loïc Minier
On Thu, Jun 01, 2006, Matthias Rosenkranz wrote:
I extraced the first 500k, but they are actually played back without
problems. So I think the problem is the ID3 tag. I resaved the tags in
BMP -- which played the file -- and now the failing file works in
quodlibet, too. So I compared the ID3 tag of a failing file from the
same album with the resaved one:
 $ tail -c 128 failing.mp3
 [output: see attachement faling.id3]
 $ tail -c 128 working.mp3
 [see attachement working.id3]

Yeah, it's usually a problem with tags. I'm surprized it doesn't
appear in the first 500k though. Could you try producing a minimalist
file which is still a playable MP3 but exposes the problem?

The main difference is that the failing ID3 tag is padded with spaces
(0x20), the working one with zeros (0x00). Also the last character is
0x01 for the working file and 0x02 for the failing one. How can I
provide more info on this as I probably can't send you the whole mp3
 beacause of copyright restrictions?

Perhaps you can point at the tool which produced the file and tell me
 how to reproduce instead?

Apologies, the icons didn't break with your upload. I've found the cause
for the icon breakage to be in cvs2svn transition performed for
packagesearch, which causes every new checkout to have broken icons.

The bug here is that xcircuit is incorrectly assuming that it's ok to call a

 obviously false for amd64.

The attached patch fixes this, and gives me a minimally-usable package on
 amd64.

there is a discussion about a few other outstanding issues on the

Bug#295526: libpam-unix2 only works as root

2006-06-01 Thread Christoph Pleger
Hello,

After a long time I just revisited my bug report for libpam-unix2 and
the following discussion.

If you'd like to help, please run the changes by the current PAM
policy maintainer Sam Hartman [EMAIL PROTECTED], and also
upstream, Thorsten Kukuk [EMAIL PROTECTED] - I'm curious if SuSE has
this bug with pam_unix2 also and if they solved it differently?

I just sent the changes to Sam Hartman _ I hope that he is still the PAM
policy maintainer.

SuSE does not have this problem with pam_unix2 as all mentioned
screensaver programs (with exception of xscreensaver) are setuid root.
For xscreensaver, setuid root does not help, so SuSE uses a hack so that
xscreensaver calls the helper binary unix2_chkpwd.

In Debian, the screensaver programs are not setuid root, because the
normal authentication module pam_unix uses a helper binary unix_chkpwd
that is setuid root.

Bug#369774: libpam-umask: undefined symbol: pam_get_item

2006-06-01 Thread Piotr Kaczuba
Package: libpam-umask
Version: 0.04

Pam_umask.so contains undefined symbols. This is what I see in the
system logs:

May 31 20:29:24 orbiter authdaemond: PAM unable to
dlopen(/lib/security/pam_umask.so)
May 31 20:29:24 orbiter authdaemond: PAM [dlerror:

May 31 20:29:24 orbiter authdaemond: PAM adding faulty module:

Having a quick glance at what google has to say about it, it seems that
is considered an error for a PAM module having undefined symbols and it
should be linked with libpam.

Bug#369775: amule: patches 01 and 02 are bogus, and ineffective for that matter

2006-06-01 Thread Adeodato Simó
Package: amule
Version: 2.1.1-3

Hello,

the current amule source package ships two patches to modify how the
configure process detects the version of the installed Crypto++ library.
There are two issues with these patches:

First, 01cryptostyle-acinclude is bogus, the change it applies to the
sed regex does not work. See, running this in a unstable system:

  # Original version
  % grep Reference Manual /usr/include/crypto++/cryptlib.h | sed
-e's#.*\s\(\([0-9]\+\.\?\)\+\)\s.*#\1#g'
  5.2.1

  # New version
  % grep Reference Manual /usr$crypto_prefix/include/crypto++/cryptlib.h |
sed 's/[[^0-9]]*\([[0-9]][[0-9.]]*\).*$/\1/'
  /*! \mainpage Crypto++ Library 5.2.1 Reference Manual

Secondly, neither of 01cryptostyle-acinclude or 02cryptostyle-configurein
produce any effect on the package configure process, since they patch
acinclude.m4 and configure.in, but the autotools have not been rerun so
that these changes get included into the executed ./configure file.

I recommend that these two patches get removed from the source package.

Cheers,

Just try entering your passwords in a field where you can see what's

Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.5.2-1+b2
Severity: normal

I changed an existing filter to move the messages to another folder, marked
all messages in a folder (with CTRL-A) and told kmail to re-filter (via
CTRL-J).

On a restart marking the messages of the old folder and re-filtering worked;
also ok for the new folder.

Here's the backtrace:

Bug#369778: [sgml module] the conversion sgml - po is not reversible

2006-06-01 Thread Pierre Machard
Package: po4a
Version: 0.25-1
Severity: normal

Hi dear fellow developer,

I am currently squashing #367061. My problem is that po4a breaks the layout.
Let me explain:

In orignial depmod.sgml

cmdsynopsis

  argoption-b replaceablebasedir/replaceable/option/arg
  argoption-e/option/arg
  argoption-F replaceableSystem.map/replaceable/option/arg

option-e/option
   /arg
   arg rep=norepeat choice=opt
option-F replaceableSystem.map/replaceable/option
   /arg

The problem is that it breaks the layout in output format (man format)

SYNOPSIS
   depmod [ -b répertoire-de-base

To conclude operations are not round-trip. And having a translated manpage
with this layout is not acceptable in order to convince m-i-t upstream
maintainer to include it. It will be a nice opportunity for po4a to be
included within m-i-t.

Cheers,

Your package fails to build on m68k. We have recently switched to gcc/g++

Bug#369265: maybe not RC?

2006-06-01 Thread Thomas Lange
I'm not sure if this bug is really RC. Please specify in more details
what you mean by saying the installation now fails. What is the error
message. Does the make-fai-nfsroot call fail or the installation
itself?

A solution may be to use the -cf and -sf (man dhclient3) flags for
specifying different files instead of using dpkg-divert.

Thanks for the report. The error message is for reverse-resolution,
so it doesn't matter that you specified an IP. Do the standard
library calls find DNS servers for you? If so, how?

Sorry, I don't know. However, the big problem here is inability to use nmap
when /etc/resolv.conf is broken.

When this happens, instead of aborting, I think it should just disable whatever
functionality is associated with reverse-resolution.

Bug#332760: recoverjpeg: memory consumption is too high

2006-06-01 Thread Samuel Tardieu
Roberto,

you can fix the maximum read size with the -r parameter on the command
line. By default, recoverjpeg uses 128M of memory. Try to run it with
-r 32M to use 32M of RAM.

recoverjpeg doesn't leak memory. It does only one single malloc() in
main(), not in a loop, and no function is ever called recursively.

Using mmap() as you suggest is not an option as it would not work on
some BSD systems which do not allow to mmap() a block device. On
GNU/Linux systems, there was no performance gain in using a mmap()ed
file anyway as the data is only read() once and then buffered internally
(in the buffer configurable with -r as discussed above).

  Sam

PS/ Cyril, would you be kind enough to send me a copy of bug reports you
receive for recoverjpeg? I stumbled on this one by chance only.

See libparted/ChangeLog and parted/ChangeLog.

Please include the separate changelogs for both packages. Parted is a critical
application and a full changelog is invaluable.

Bug#369696: xslide: Fix for this bug

2006-06-01 Thread Reuben Thomas
Package: xslide
Version: 0.2.2-4
Followup-For: Bug #369696

I discovered the problem: in the site-init.d file for xslide, the
patterns for matching file names are not anchored, so .fo matches
.fonts.conf. (It was a red herring that the file happened to contain
XML!)

The fix is to anchor the two patterns.

I don't. Not least of which, your patch doesn't actually solve the
problem of not properly uniqifying the maintainer list.

Your patch does not work for the case of Brian Nelson [EMAIL PROTECTED]
and Brian Nelson [EMAIL PROTECTED], who are two completely different
developers. I therefore still think that the only right way is to
uniqify by the full string.

Bug#369488: quodlibet: Fails to play some mp3s with new gstreamer 0.10.6

Yeah, it's usually a problem with tags. I'm surprized it doesn't

The problem only appears when the ID3v1 tag at the end of the file is
present. Even at head -c 10k it is recognized (there isn't any tag at
the beginning of the file anyway). It even plays when I only strip the
last byte of the file with the v1 tag, but then quodlibet doesn't
display the ID3 information, of course.

I should also make clear that this bug only appears when I upgrade
libgstreamer0.10-0 to 0.10.6, so it's probably not a bug in
gstreamer0.10-plugins-base.

Perhaps you can point at the tool which produced the file and tell me
  how to reproduce instead?

I created the failing files in 2000 with a combination of cdparanoia
and gogo. At least that's what the comment tag says.

Matthias

Bug#354386: tinyca: Problem occurs when changing the nsCertType

2006-06-01 Thread Marco Herrn
Package: tinyca
Version: 0.7.2-1
Followup-For: Bug #354386

I also have this problem, and it occurs when one changes the
nsCertType of the CA Certificate. It is not even necessary to set
another value than the default. Opening the box and clicking in it
leads to the problem.

When generating the openssl.conf file, tinyca then writes emailcopy
as the value to the nsCertType instead of the real value.

By the way, the error message of tinyca isn't very helpful. When the
openssl.conf is invalid and openssl fails to generate the certificate,
this should be mentioned in the error message.

Bug#369781: apt: fails to install packages from cdrom in presence of pre-depends

2006-06-01 Thread Jiri Palecek
Package: apt
Version: 0.6.43.3
Severity: normal

Hello,

Yesterday, I tried to install ilisp and got (approximately) the error:

could not configure pre-depends, possible dependency cycle

There are no dependency cycles, but from what was happening when I
installed it by hand, I deduce that the problem was that I was
installing from a cdrom, and the situation was as follows:

- ilisp pre-depends: common-lisp-controller
- common-lisp-controller depends: something I don't remember, let's say X
- ilisp and X are on CD1
- common-lisp-controller is on CD2

The problem is that apt asked for CD1 first (it's logical, because
common-lisp-controller was not installable at that time), and by
the way tried to install ilisp, which needs common-lisp-controller
configured, but that couldn't be because CD2 hadn't been inserted.

Shouldn't apt do something more reasonable than just failing?

Regards
   Jiri Palecek

Bug#369784: ide-disk module not insmod'ed

2006-06-01 Thread Alexander Vlasov
Package: linux-image-2.6.15-1-686
Version: 2.6.15-8

Recently I upgraded four of my machines to etch; three of them are ok,
but one doesn't boot with new kernel 2.6.15.
Boot process stops at waiting for root filesystem, long pause and
no /dev/hda1 message; after this, I receive a busybox shell.

in busybox, one can see /dev handled by udev and, really, no /dev/hd* at
all. insmod /lib/modules/.../ide-disk.ko fixes the situation: /dev/hd*
appearing and one can press ctrl-D to continue booting.

rebuilding initrd with ide-disk added to /etc/mkinitramfs/modules also
fixes the situation; booting wents ok (except long pause while waiting
for root filesystem).

This problem exists with 2.6.15 only (both image from etch and
backports.org image for sarge), bot not with any other kernel (2.6.8-*
from sarge, 2.6.16 from backports.org)

Thanks for your report. wu-ftpd does not actually depend on inetd, as it
can run standalone without it. However, it should probably Suggest
installing inetd. In addition, it probably shouldn't offer inetd as an

Bug#369787: Tinyproxy logrotate calls unconditional service restart

2006-06-01 Thread Attila Csipa

/var/log/tinyproxy.log {

postrotate
/etc/init.d/tinyproxy restart /dev/null

The result of this postrotate action is that the tinyproxy is started even if
it was not running previously and/or removed from rc.d completely. The
correct behaviour would in my opinion be to restart ONLY if it's already
running.

recoverjpeg doesn't leak memory.

What about using mmap() as default and falling back to read() on systems
or devices where mmap() is no available?

Bug#369301: lastfm: External player problems and possible policy violation

2006-06-01 Thread Friedrich Delgado Friedrichs
Hi!

Paul Telford schrieb:
Can you please explain in more detail what you think the policy violation
 is?

I'm just not sure whether the program can be regarded as free.
svn://svn.audioscrobbler.net/player/trunk/LICENSE looks like an
artistic license to me, IANAL though.

Sorry for the confusion.

Kind regards

Bug#367125: knfsd / bad inode number on ext3

2006-06-01 Thread Peter Kruse

Hello,

thanks for your info. That means it is a bug in ext3. It seems
to ignore the errors=continue mount option, although
according to the manpage it should support all the
options that ext2 does.
Unfortunately I'm not able to reproduce this exact behaviour, however
I am able to produce a filesystem error and make ext3 remount
the filesystem read-only, while ext2 continues on an error.
Here is what happens with ext2:

May 26 15:46:25 nfstest1 kernel: attempt to access beyond end of device
May 26 15:46:25 nfstest1 kernel: drbd1: rw=0, want=146538512, limit=146538496
May 26 15:46:25 nfstest1 kernel: EXT2-fs error (device drbd1):
read_inode_bitmap: Cannot read inode bitmap - block_group = 559,
inode_bitmap = 18317313

And this is with ext3:

May 26 13:31:37 nfstest1 kernel: attempt to access beyond end of device
May 26 13:31:37 nfstest1 kernel: drbd1: rw=0, want=146538512, limit=146538496
May 26 13:31:37 nfstest1 kernel: EXT3-fs error (device drbd1):
read_inode_bitmap: Cannot read inode bitmap - block_group = 559,
inode_bitmap = 18317313
May 26 13:31:37 nfstest1 kernel: Aborting journal on device drbd1.
May 26 13:31:37 nfstest1 kernel: EXT3-fs error (device drbd1) in
ext3_new_inode: IO failure
May 26 13:31:37 nfstest1 kernel: EXT3-fs error (device drbd1) in
ext3_create: IO failure
May 26 13:31:37 nfstest1 kernel: ext3_abort called.
May 26 13:31:37 nfstest1 kernel: EXT3-fs error (device drbd1):
ext3_journal_start_sb:Detected aborted journal
May 26 13:31:37 nfstest1 kernel: Remounting filesystem read-only
May 26 13:31:37 nfstest1 kernel: __journal_remove_journal_head:
freeing b_committed_data

I would consider this a bug, maybe it's only a bug in the manpage ;)

 Peter

btw - just to repeat myself: the CVE that's most recent in your memory

break. It's possible that I could have overlooked a fix there, but I've
seen no fixes whatsoever for links.

Adding to the miscrediting on the security advisory this gives me a generally
poor attitude toward Debian's security team.

-2 will fix this, I am still waiting to either pass the final DD step

If you want I you can test the current -2 packages (might be necessary
to be redone), send me a PM if you want.

Bug#369779: (no subject)

thanks

I can confirm this bug. For now, it surely suffices to add
-fno-strict-aliasing in Debian if you, Neil, still use the flag for
development.

I am surely not touching dlink.h, even though that seems to be the
source of the problem. Maybe this could be fixed sometime in the
future? Maybe there's even another implementation out there?

Cheers,
