Bug#446719: sane: Scanner group addition is not handled

2007-10-15 Thread Josef Spillner
Package: sane
Version: 1.0.14-4
Severity: normal

After the installation of sane, there was no choice given to add any
user to the scanner group. Instead, I had to figure out the name of the
group first (as I thought it'd be saned first) and then add myself with
vigr/vigr -s. The package should somehow inform about it.
At the very minimum, there should be a README.Debian entry about it.
A better choice would be generic Debian way of letting the user add
logins to the group which handles the most common situation (single-user
machines) without annoying those who have hundreds of users.

How to promote group additions to currently running processes (i.e.
within the user's session) is probably not possible without kernel
modifications. However, such modifications should be advocated
medium-term for increased user friendlyness, it affects many packages
which add groups at installation time. Maybe a wiki page is in order
(didn't check this yet).

To summarise, most of the info contained in this report is probably
wishlist (want to hear feedback first), but at least the missing
README.Debian entry is of higher severity and should be fixed soon.

Bug#446724: SAME SITUATION - initramfs-tools: creates broken initramfs image as reported on Bug #445688

2007-10-15 Thread Miguel Martins Feitosa Filho
Package: initramfs-tools
Version: 0.90a
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

Hi,

I have the same situation described by Beojan in one of my boxes but
not the other two - all three are debian testing.
His solution - yaird - also worked for me.
Reading the bug report I came about an interesting point in
that the phrases below do not apply to me as my systems always were/are
debian:

i'm sorry but your initramfs-tools is not from debian,
we _never_ shipped with an modprobe -Q argument in those boot scripts.

You may wish to know that I switched to Debian from Feisty using
 dist-upgrade, and udev
 didn't get upgraded.

A call to
egrep -r modprobe /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-premount/
shows some modprobe commands, all are without options such as:

tatarana:/etc/default# egrep -r modprobe
/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-premount/ | head -2
/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-premount/ps3:modprobe
ps3_storage
/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-premount/ps3:modprobe gelic_net

I run apt-get dist-upgrade regularly on these systems.
Yesterday - oct 14 2007 - I brought all three up to date.
Only one maintained the problem. The other two booted ok with new
2.6.22-2 kernel.
My systems differ only in installed packages and initial install date.
I do not get any deb files outside of apt.
At the end of this message is my sources.list for reference.

My current initramfs is also 0.90a.
tatarana:~# ls /var/cache/apt/archives/ | grep initram
initramfs-tools_0.89_all.deb
initramfs-tools_0.90a_all.deb
initramfs-tools_0.90_all.deb

Since apt installed kernel 2.6.21-2 on my system I get the
Waiting for root filesystem at boot time error.

What is amazing is that my other two boxes have also up to date kernels
and
never had this problem.

I initially reported this error as a kernel error but was unable to do a
good follow-up on it. I imagined that as the kernel evolved the problem
would dissapear. Since it did not I resumed trying to figure out the
situation. Beojan's report reproduced my error.

His modprobe -Q explanation though does not seem to apply to my
computer.

I hope a comparision of my three systems will help in finding the cause
of this problem.

Thanks for your help, I am available to supply any necessary
information.

Bug#446254: Korean translations for ISO-3166

2007-10-15 Thread Christian Perrier
Quoting Sunjae Park ([EMAIL PROTECTED]):

Hello Christian. Thanks for letting us know. I have attached an updated
version resolving the conflict and updating the untranslated strings. How
 will this be imported upstream?

Pretty easily. Debian *is* upstream for iso-codes.

So, as soon as we apply this change, it is included in upstream.

iso-codes translations are both available to Debian translators
(through the normal package distribution system which makes everybody
entitled to sumit trranslationsas long as they don't conflict with
existing ones) and Translation Project translators.

We try to maintain consistency between both...which works pretty well.

Bug#443648: openslp: General update after the debconf review process

2007-10-15 Thread Christian Perrier
Dear Debian maintainer,

On Wednesday, September 05, 2007, I sent you a notification about the beginning
of a review
action on debconf templates for openslp.

Then, I sent you a bug report with rewritten templates and announcing
the beginning of the second phase of this action: call for translation
updates.

Translators have been working hard and here is now the result of their efforts.

Please consider using it EVEN if you committed files to your
development tree as long as they were reported.

The attached tarball contains:

- debian/changelog with the list of changes
- debian/control with rewrites of packages' descriptions
- debian/templates with all the rewritten templates file(s)
- debian/po/*.po with all PO files (existing ones and new ones)

As said, please use *at least* the PO files as provided here,
preferrably over those sent by translators in their bug reports. All
of them have been checked and reformatted. In some cases, formatting
errors have been corrected.

The patch-nopo file contains a patch for the templates and control file(s).

Please note that this patch applies to the templates and control
file(s) of your package as of Wednesday, September 05, 2007. If your package
was updated
in the meantime, I may have updated my reference copybut I also
may have missed that. This is indeed why I suggested you do not
modified such files while the review process was running,
remember..:-)

It is now safe to upload a new package version with these changes.

Please notify me of your intents with regards to this.

There is of course no hurry to update your package but feel free to
contact me in case you would need sponsoring or any other action to
fix this.

and I can still reproduce it. See e.g
 http://people.debian.org/~lucas/logs/2007/10/09/libgstreamer-perl_0.09-1_sid32.buildlog

Yeah, I know. It *is* on my todo list and will hopefully be looked at in
the next few days. As you probably know, I've just returned from my
vacation, so I'm still settling in again. Be warned, though, I'll spend
time on all other Gtk2-Perl packages before looking at this FTBFS
(especially the unfiled FTBFS of libgnome2-wnck-perl with libwnck22)

libgstreamer-perl shows up in my list of packages that should maybe be
removed/orphaned, but I would prefer to avoid filing such bugs on your
 packages ;)

It's probably a removal candidate in the long run because upstream
support is, ehm, simply isn't there. And FWIW, I'm not really insulted
if you poke when I ignore a problem for too long, I do know that I'm
currently not spending enough time to get all things done.

repositories. I have GCJ, as well as Sun's JDK 5 and 6 available on my

system, though GCJ is the default. When I used openoffice.org 2.2.1-8,
I had the openoffice.org-gcj package installed, but it is not
available for 2.2.1-9, and so was uninstalled. I'm not sure if that
has any bearing on the problem or not.

Most probably not. Then again, I needed some tricks to get it to build
(whcih I did because it was a security update)

Can you also try 2.3.0? I don't care about 2.2.1-x anymore.

I don't believe this happens for normal sid users as I guess then
there would have been a report earlier, and it works for me, too.

And next time *please* use reportbug or anything whihc provides useful
info if you can't do that alone (arch, apt conf, installed packages,
whether you use GNOME nd have -gtk installed, etc...)

hi,

both radiance and rcalc ship `/usr/bin/rcalc', but do neither conflict, nor

 Hi -releasers,
can you please schedule a binNMU for the source package gtkmathview on
amd64? Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure that it is the proper
solution, since I did not (also after talking with upstream et al) about
what was the cause of the crash, but we are quite convinced it was some
 toolchain breakage.

Nevertheless, ATM rebuilding the package on amd64 fixes the problem,
that's why I'm asking for the binNMU.

Hints on what to do on other archs (i.e. binNMU also there?) are
appreciated. On i386 the package works just fine, but I don't know what
 to expect elsewhere ...

Well, I tried to do a local rebuild on amd64 to understand the nature of
this bug, and it failed with this error:

g++ -g -Wall -O2 -W -Wall -o test_embedding test_embedding.o dummy.o -lstdc++
../src/widget/.libs/libgtkmathview_libxml2.a

So a binNMU isn't much use at this moment anyway. :)

(Looks like a bug in libt1-dev, which provides /usr/lib/libt1x.la containing
this -lXpm reference.)

Hi!

It would be more than helpful if the NewVersion() function from the

entry. That way it is much more convenient to maintain packages in
experimental, or doing updates to stable-security, etch-backports or
whatsnot.

 Thanks in advance,

Bug#446666: arb: should this package be removed?

2007-10-15 Thread Andreas Tille

On Sun, 14 Oct 2007, Lucas Nussbaum wrote:

If you think that it should be orphaned instead of being removed from
Debian, please reply to this bug and tell so.

There is no need to orphan the package because I'll continue in
maintaining it. To be honest arb is a little bit hard to maintain
because quite weak release management of upstream. They claimed
to get a new stable version out for last November but they continue
with inoffcial not version numbered releases. Some weeks ago I
go their word that the latest tarball they released would be
stable enough for a Debian release in unstable - which would
be my next candidate for an upload. I just need some time to
rework the package.

It's my fault that I missed to tag the current Debian package
with a FTBFS bug since there was some change in the motif libraries
that caused a problem. I hope this is solved with the newer version.

If you disagree and want to continue to maintain this package, please
just close this bug, preferably in an upload also fixing the other
issues.

In principle I really regard your QA work as very valuable but I
hope to get something better out in a reasonable time frame.
Despite the low popcon value the package is used by some users
I know and thus keeping it in Debian makes some sense.

Kind regards and thanks for your QA work

  Andreas.

Bug#411115: Sky2 timeout fixes for Etch?

2007-10-15 Thread Sheldon Hearn

Please consider these patches for inclusion in the 2.6.18 kernel for
Etch.

The current Etch kernel occasionally drops all the sky2 NICs our
customer has off the network and the hosts require a reboot to resolve
the problem.

Given the maturity of the patch, I'm hoping its benefit:risk ratio will
be considered high. I believe the current severity of important is
appropriate as per http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer#severities, but
realize that this does not always warrant a fix in stable.

Thanks,
Sheldon.

settings are up to date with the current installation. Eventually this
is overriden by a local variable of the user's gconf tree.

Such an idea should reach a good position in the charts of the worst
GConf abuses.

Despite the low popcon value the package is used by some users
I know and thus keeping it in Debian makes some sense.

Good to know. Good luck with upstream :/

I was expecting the detailed configuration file to contain everything
related the configuration of simple-cdd, but eg mirror_components is
missing. Maybe other things can get updated (CONF.sh, that i read on
mailing list is no longer used, and so on).

I'm currently working to an heavy customization, so i can volunteer to
make a brand new one with all the relevant parts if it's useful.

Bug#446737: RFA: xtla

2007-10-15 Thread Matthieu Moy
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I'm not a Debian Developer, but I've been the maintainer of the Xtla
package, with [EMAIL PROTECTED] doing the uploads.

Xtla is now replaced by DVC, which reuses the Xtla code base to manage
many other version control systems tools (git, hg, mtn, darcs,
bzr, ...). The DVC build system also has been greatly improved, and
solves most of the long-standing bugs of Xtla's Debian package.

The debian package for DVC exists, the debian/ directory is in
upstream (mostly based on Gnus' build system and package), so, not
much work is needed, but the package needs a Debian Developer to be
correctly included in Debian. I don't have time to be that person at
the moment unfortunately.

Bug#367272: FreeTalk should allow users to overwrite system defaults

2007-10-15 Thread Kartik Mistry
Package: freetalk
Followup-For: Bug #367272

Hi Martin,

As Max Kirillov suggested,

there is 'ft-login-hook' hook. You can add a handler for it
instead of creating another file:

(add-hook! ft-login-hook
(lambda (status)
(remove-hook! ft-message-receive-hook beep-proc))
)

If you feel, that is okay for this bug and can we close it?

Please give me suggestion or if you can redo patches for latest 0.69
version, I will happily apply in next upload of freetalk.

Thanks!

case, I do apologize for the delay but I had been trying to avoid
unnecessarily wasting time updating the package only to do so again a couple
 of days later.

Nevertheless, ATM rebuilding the package on amd64 fixes the problem,

Hints on what to do on other archs (i.e. binNMU also there?) are
appreciated. On i386 the package works just fine, but I don't know what

Well, I tried to do a local rebuild on amd64 to understand the nature of
this bug, and it failed with this error:

... also, after manually installing libxpm-dev for the build and installing
the resulting packages, I still get a segfault on amd64. So binNMUs don't
seem to be the answer here.

 Hi Martin,

 As Max Kirillov suggested,

there is 'ft-login-hook' hook. You can add a handler for it
 instead of creating another file:

 (add-hook! ft-login-hook
   (lambda (status)
   (remove-hook! ft-message-receive-hook beep-proc))
 )

If you feel, that is okay for this bug and can we close it?

Please go ahead.

Bug#446726: file conflicts between packages

2007-10-15 Thread Bernd Zeimetz
Hi,

both gromacs and radiance ship `/usr/bin/genbox' but do neither conflict nor
add a diversion, thus fail to be installed in the same environment:

   Unpacking gromacs (from .../gromacs_3.3.1-7_amd64.deb) ...
   dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/gromacs_3.3.1-7_amd64.deb

trying to overwrite `/usr/bin/genbox', which is also in package radiance
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
   Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/gromacs_3.3.1-7_amd64.deb
   E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

 I suggest:
rename genbox to g_genbox, add a comment to gromacs' README.Debian,

I could also add a diversion to handle this. Not sure if there's somebody out
there who is interested in both packages at the same time.

Bug#446741: man-db: cat page locale handling is poor

2007-10-15 Thread Colin Watson
Package: man-db
Version: 2.5.0-3
Severity: normal

man-db has excessively rigid logic on when to save cat pages with
respect to locale configuration. It will only save cat pages if the
current locale's character set matches the standard output encoding
for the current manual hierarchy. This means that UTF-8 locales tend not
to work well (except for pages in *.UTF-8 directories), and nor do
locale configurations using different character sets in different locale
categories.

I think it would be reasonable to save the cat page in the appropriate
encoding for the directory, but to recode to the current locale's
character set at display time. There would then be no need for this
restriction in most cases.

There is still a wart with regard to English-language manual pages,
which can't easily be in directories tagged with an explicit character
set. So, perhaps a better answer would be to save all cat pages as UTF-8
by default and rely on manconv to provide backward compatibility for old
cat pages in legacy encodings. This might be more reliable and
comprehensible in the long term.

Bug#424552: FTBFS with GCC 4.2: passing argument... incompatible pointer type

2007-10-15 Thread Simon McVittie
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

[I'm a new maintainer doing RC bug fixing as part of TS; Michael is my AM.]

This bug is because Eunuchs is being built for Python 2.5, but hasn't
been ported according to PEP 353 Using ssize_t as the index type
http://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0353/.

A patch is attached. It makes the following changes to fix the FTBFS:

* typedef int Py_ssize_t if Python is a version that lacks Py_ssize_t
(this has the correct semantics on = 2.4, because in those versions,
all objects that are now Py_ssize_t were int)

* In sendmsg.c use Py_ssize_t to receive the third argument of
  PyString_AsStringAndSize

and the following changes to improve 64-bit cleanness:

* #define PY_SSIZE_T_CLEAN so we get versions of PyArg_Parse, etc., that
use a Py_ssize_t for the length part of the 's#' format

* Use Py_ssize_t in a couple of places where it's more correct than int

* Fix a related 64-bit-cleanness bug: in my_recvmsg() a pointer to size_t was
used as if it was a pointer to int, which won't do the right thing on 64-bit
  platforms with 32-bit int

Michael: would you be willing to sponsor an NMU using this patch? Should
I be addressing the Normal severity bugs (which have patches) in the
same NMU?

Thanks for your input :-)

Well, capitalizing headings in English is debated. Let's CC
debian-l10n-english to get more input.

Here I see short description of debconf select templates much more as
prompts than headings or titles (for instance, depending on the

interface they're shown before *or after* the long description).

I recently had a small argument with Steve Langasek about samba
prompting for Workgroup/Domain Name: or Workgroup/domain
name:. Incidentally, he 'won' the argument so we might as well ask for
other advices here...:-)

So what is the conclusion on this matter ?

I think that the docs should be patched accordingly, namely all the

Well, in fact this section should probably be entirely reworked. Some

Bug#446745: With new libgtk the window stays grey after hiding/unhiding

2007-10-15 Thread Ronney Meier
Package: tilda
Version: 0.09.4-4
Severity: important

After installing the new libgtk 2.12.0-3 tilda does not work properly
anymore.
If you hide and then unhide the window again it quite often (70% or so)
just stays grey. You need to quit tilda first and start it again to
continue working.
When reinstalling the former libgtk 2.10.12 tilda works as usual.

Bug#445614: perceptualdiff: FTBFS: Different path to build in.

2007-10-15 Thread Simon McVittie
[I'm a new maintainer doing RC bug fixing as part of TS; Michael is my AM.]

It appears that all the CMake-generated files can safely be removed
during clean, which will both avoid this FTBFS and reduce the size of the
Debian diff. The necessary changes are attached.

Michael, would you be willing to sponsor an NMU using this patch?

The icons, tips, about dialog and help system are broken. This is

installed in. I get some error messages on the console:

Bug#446476: [texhax] Bug#446476: Bug#446476: natbib cannot handle utf8

Sebastian decided as best he could, many years ago. Very little has
changed in the set of recommended TL packages for a long time now.

At that time ucs.sty was probably the only way to use UTF-8 encoded
text for LaTeX. Nowadays inputenc.sty includes UTF-8 capabilities that
handles many cases, so that ucs.sty is more for special cases, ie more
extra than recommended.

Anyway, the main point here is not the classification of ucs, but rather
the possible bug in it. I see on
http://www.unruh.de/DniQ/latex/unicode/ that Dominique Unruh is no
longer able to maintain the unicode package (which contains ucs.sty),
and a new maintainer is welcome.

Perhaps someone here would like to take it on ...

I am not sure, but the time to do this might be better spend extending
the Unicode-coverage of the UTF-8 implementation in inputenc.sty.
AFAIK that's the area where ucs.sty is still better than inputenc.sty.

Bug#446726: file conflicts between packages

Hi,

 I suggest:
rename genbox to g_genbox, add a comment to gromacs' README.Debian,

 what's your opinion?

Ignore my last mail please.

I can also rename genbox to radgenbox.
I guess your package attracts more people, so it should probably keep
the binaries name. On the other side - if genbox is only rarely used in
gromacs, the better thing would be to rename it there probably.

Cheers,

Bernd

Bug#446725: file conflicts between packages

2007-10-15 Thread Bernd Zeimetz
Hi Sam,

both radiance and rcalc ship `/usr/bin/rcalc', but do neither conflict, nor
add a diversion, thus fail to be installed in the same environment:

my suggestions to solve this problem:

* I rename rcalc to recalc and mention the change in README.Debian and
patch all manpages to reflect the new name. rcals is one of those tools
which is used everywhere within radiance and therefore a name change
would also mean to rewrite a lot of definitions and rendering scripts.

* you rename rcalc's binary to grcalc. Probably the better solution
towards the users of radiance, not sure what your users think about
that, though (if you prefer this way to solve the problem, I can prepare
a patch for you, or organize a NMU - I guess you have more important
things to do for Debian).

What's your opinion?

Cheers,

Bernd

AFAIK that's the area where ucs.sty is still better than inputenc.sty.

That would be true as utf8 in inputenc was deliberately limited to
characters that were clearly intended for use with the standard LaTeX
8-bit font encodings.

Yes, I think it'd be better to forward the message to the upstream list: in

Well, on my system it seems nautilus refuses to move symbolic links to

Bug#446748: incorrect rendering when x11 composite extension is used

Version: 2.0.8.20060605+b4

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
hi!

i'm using xfce, which can use the x11 composite extension. if i
tell xfce to enable compositing, bzflag doesn't update all parts of the
its window in the game. only the radar is rendered and updated
correctly. the text message area disappears completely and the viewing
area isn't updated and cleared regularly. the menu isn't affected and
still works fine.

as soon as i tell xfce to not use the composite extension everything is
back to normal.

cheers - fuddl

The attached patch for alsa-lib should be enough to fix this, upstream

Yeah, we can provide it. But shouldn't it be a solution for all ALSA

This is Debian #429326. As well reported as
 https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=3360.

We have to look for a general solution as the distributors don't
 need to patch sources.

Hm, basically the possible overflow is only the case for 32 - any bit
down conversion, right? Then let's keep shift_down() for other
conversions, at least. It's good for sound quality.

We can add a check in shift_down() for 32bit version to not to add if
it's greater or equal (131) - (1(bits-1)) - 1 although I'm not
sure whether it's worth to try...

Bug#446732: marked as done (Takes all processor time and slows down the system)

2007-10-15 Thread Loïc Minier
For the record, this happened to me as well this morning on a fully up
to date sid system: the panel was frozen since 40 minutes (as the clock
would tell me on the dead body) and consuming 100% since then. I
couldn't diagnose what was happening as it crashed when I launched a
 subsequent pbuilder though.

Bug#446749: rcalc: menu file needs update

2007-10-15 Thread Bernd Zeimetz
Package: rcalc
Version: 0.5.0-1.1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Hi Sam,

while looking what rcals is to investigate the name clash with radiance,
I discovered that the menu file needs an update.
- rcalc doesn't seem to take the -t option anymore, probably calling
rcalc-term here is the way to go
- there're new menu sections

Patch is attached.

Cheers,

Bernd

Bug#446750: reading vmol files: coord factor ignored and misdefined

2007-10-15 Thread Drew Parsons
Package: viewmol
Version: 2.4.1-11
Severity: normal

Babel can convert data files to viewmol format (.vmol). The vmol file
so produced appears correct.

However reading it into viewmol, the molecule gets contracted by a
factor of a Bohr radius (0.529 Ang).

For instance dihydrogen phosphate:
$title
dihydrogenphosphate ion
$coord 1.0
  0.032241 -0.005950 -0.070124 P
  1.646672 0.057247 -0.174872 O
 -0.244361 -1.586923 -0.282655 O
 -0.337583 0.302401 1.312631 O
 -0.491935 0.700145 -1.240857 O
  1.876256 0.311790 -1.048691 H
 -0.346842 -1.984884 0.561185 H
$end

Viewmol measures the OH distances to be 0.4967 Ang rather than 0.938
Ang. Notice the line $coord 1.0. The '1.0' is supposed to be the
factor converting the given coordinates into Angstroms (see
file:///usr/share/doc/viewmol/html/node32.html ), so 1.0 in this case
- coordinates are already in Angstroms. But for some reason a Bohr
factor is applied regardless.

Furthermore changing the factor in this line appears to have no effect.

Bug#445356: wireless-tools: post-down script should check if interface still exists

2007-10-15 Thread Guus Sliepen

example the madwifi script could already have deleted the VAP.

I'm not familiar with the madwifi script. What is a VAP? And how comes
that an interface that exists during if-pre-up does not exist during
if-post-down? It seems to me that something has then happened out of
order.

 Hi Jeremy,

The bugs about thoose license issues have been quiet for a very long
time (since November 2005). If the situation has evolved, and you expect
a change soon, it could be a good idea to document that in the bug logs.

 Thank you,

At this point I'm abandoning all hope that upstream will make any
effort to correct the issue. There appears to be no interest in
upstreams part to even respond and continually just passes it off as not
their problem. Consider any PHP Licensed PEAR module package currently
with a bug due to licensing abandoned and ideal candidate for complete
removal from the distribution unless someone with more free time on
their hands cares to adopt them.

I've tried to get responses from upstream but the attempts were
useless and a waste of my time.

RedHat specific info is useful in Debian. Wouldn't it be more logical
to not ship that file and instead document any Debian-specifics in
README.Debian, where they would be expected?

The DISTRIBUTIONS.txt file also contains general information which might
be of use to Debian people. It doesn't hurt to have some text about
RedHat or SuSE in the doc directory. I don't want to manually prune this
information.

I tried to use pkg-config today and found that libcdb-dev does not
 write /usr/lib/pkgconfig/libcdb.pc information (unlike libpcre3-dev
 etc).

I wonder why people are using that stupid thing in the first place --
pkg-config. I for one absolutely detest it, pretty much like libtool
with its .la files which gets installed in /lib and gets opened by
some idiotic dlopen() wrapper. In short: things works directly
without any wrappers, in both cases...

Bug#446688: inkscape: No letter spacing, incorrect glyphs in some fonts

When I export an SVG from chemtool or xfig with default text and

Helvetica or Times. Doing a search-and-replace from Helvetica to
Sans, and from Times to Serif fixes the problem.

Same problem with inkscape 0.45.1-1 and Helvetica font-family (at least).
The file was created by inkscape 0.45.1 itself under Mac OS X.

Maybe inkscape should interpret Helvetica as Sans and Times as
 Serif?

AFAIK, Sans and Serif are just aliases. Using replacement fonts (this
is what Firefox seems to do) is not a correct solution since the font
metrics may be different, and often are in practice.

Bug#446755: Error loading module setAtomColors.

2007-10-15 Thread Drew Parsons
Package: viewmol
Version: 2.4.1-11
Severity: normal

Something's wrong with atom colouring. At start up the warning message
Error loading module setAtomColors. comes up. I think it's one of
the python scripts. Please fix it.

Also, sometimes (not everytime), loading in a molecule the colour of
the atoms are indeed wrong (all pink), but switch from wireframe to
ballstick restores correct colours.
