Bug#449328: barrage: fails to start when no audio device is available

2007-11-05 Thread Paul Wise
Package: barrage
Version: 1.0.2-1
Severity: normal

barrage fails to start when no audio device is available, and fails to
notify the user that there is a problem, other than on the command
line:

Users who cannot use the command line will not be able to see this
message. It should start and run normally when there is no audio device
available (just without any sound), or alternatively notify the user
with a GUI message like No audio device available, press any key to
exit.

Bug#449334: gnome-font-viewer: fails to take into account the glyphs available in the font

2007-11-05 Thread Paul Wise
Package: gnome-control-center
Version: 1:2.20.1-1
Severity: normal
File: /usr/bin/gnome-font-viewer

I recently tried some viewing some of the smaller fonts from
http://www.stixfonts.org/ and noted that gnome-font-viewer ignores the
glyphs available in the font and just tries to use the standard quick
brown fox phrase. kfontview gets it right and uses the glyphs in the
font when quick brown fox glyphs are not available. If you report this
upstream, please ask them to create a libfontview library so that both
applications can share the same code for character selection and
anything else relevant.

Bug#449333: xmoto: manual page outdated

2007-11-05 Thread Paul Wise
Package: xmoto
Version: 0.3.4-1
Severity: minor

Please update the manual page. It shows single dash options, while xmoto
uses double-dash options. There are also several options that are in the
--help output, but not in the manual page. Perhaps the manual page could
be generated with a help2man template or something.

When I start pixfrogger it asks me to choose between Spanish and

Bug#449330: funguloids: won't start on machines without nvidia-cg-toolkit

2007-11-05 Thread Paul Wise
Package: funguloids
Version: 1.06-4
Severity: normal

I tried to start funguloids on my laptop with an intel card. I expected
that it would start since the dependencies were satisfied. It failed
with the following output. I suggest that it should depend on
nvidia-cg-toolkit. It would be useful if it could gracefully degrade to
lower quality graphics when nVidia shaders are not available.

Bug#448993: solved

2007-11-05 Thread Didrik Pinte
Hi,

I made some investigation. The problem is that the personnal
configuration file stored in ~/.terprc contains the following :

[path]
pixmaps = /usr/lib/tinyerp-client
share = /usr/lib/tinyerp-client

Thus, because of the update, pixmaps are not at the same place.

Simply deleting the pixmaps entry in the ~/.terprc file solved the
problem.

I think that the update should have addressed the problem by a message
or something like that. I don't know if a script can be run and update
all the user accounts ...

Bug#448993: second error

2007-11-05 Thread Didrik Pinte
Hi,

The problem in the ~/.terprc file was not alone.

The new default path is not the correct one :

In /usr/lib/tinyerp-client/options.py :

'path.pixmaps': os.path.join(sys.prefix,
'share/pixmaps/tinyerp-client/'),

but the file are in /usr/share/pixmaps ...

Either we should correct the path (simple workaround) or move the files
to the correct directory.

Bug#449336: Icedove should tolerate erroneous quotas

2007-11-05 Thread xr
Package: icedove
Version: 2.0.0.6-1
Severity: normal

Hello,

When Icedove tries to access an IMAP folder supporting the QUOTA extension,
an integer overflow can be triggered.

Here's a partial dump of the connection (using tcpflow) with IPs greyed
out. As you can see, the server (apparently courier-imap) reports a
negative quota, which doesn't seem to be prohibited by RFC2087 but is
indeed quite senseless.

 [client].34986-[server].00143: 29 getquotaroot INBOX

 [server].00143-[client].34986: * QUOTAROOT INBOX ROOT
 * QUOTA ROOT (STORAGE -14 195313 MESSAGE 9 25000)
 29 OK GETQUOTAROOT Ok.

In about:config, my mail.quota.mainwindow_threshold.show property is set to
0.

The problem is that icedove then reports the quota as 2199018% full :
4294967282 of 195313 KB used, which is 2^32-14 (-14 for an unsigned 32bit
int).

This problem has already happened before but I never tracked down the
problem with tcpflow. I'll test the bug on Thunderbird this evening
assuming I don't receive mails on that address until then, as the quota
would probably be fixed by a change in the inbox.

Regards,
Xr

points in the correct direction. This seems to be a problem with your

Could you please check where these programs come from on your system:

$ dpkg -S /usr/bin/lp /usr/bin/lpr

cupsys-client: /usr/bin/lp

On my system lp comes from cupsys-client and lpr comes from cupsys-bsd

Same here... And I can still reproduce the problem, e.g. when I use a
generic PostScript-Printer.

Hi,

Changing the following option in /usr/lib/tinyerp-client/options.py
solved the problem :

All the icons, etc. seems to be accessible using the path /usr/share.

   2) Can support for 2.6.23 be easily added to the existing version in
such a way that you can demonstrate low-risk of regressions for
2.6.18? By this I mean the changes are small and easy to review,
and perhaps are #ifdef'd to avoid changing behavior on 2.6.18.
   3) If we really need a new upstream version of the module, can you
include the source to both modules such that the old version is
used for 2.6.18, and the new for 2.6.23?
   4) As a last resort, we could consider adding a second package,
  e.g. ivtv-source-2.6.23. I don't really like this idea
much because it seems pretty confusing for users. But, if prebuilt
ivtv-modules packages are provided by one of the linux-modules-
congolmeration packages, we can perhaps hide these details from
  them.

Anyway, I'm glad to see people already considering the impact of this,
  thanks!

It's actually not the module that needs to be updated. The problem is
that in 2.6.22, the ivtv kernel module moved into the upstream kernel,
so 2.6.23 includes a newer version of the ivtv module than the one
shipping in etch. But the ivtv-utils userspace package that ships in
etch is only compatible with the 0.8 kernel module; it needs to be
updated for compatibility with the 2.6.23 kernel.

ivtv-source still contains the ivtvfb driver, but that is only
compatible with the 2.6.2[23] version of ivtv.

However, as Marc says it is really the tools incompatibility which is
going to bite in terms of not breaking 2.6.18 support and those issues
aren't really addressed by #1-#3 above. A scheme with multiple binaries
(e.g. in /usr/lib/ivtvversion) and a wrapper in /usr/bin might be
workable but seems like a big change for stable.

For a long while I've been maintaining the various branches out of
Debian as ivtvX.Y-{utils,source} and that seems to have gone down ok
with the users (well, no one has complained ;-)). I don't like #4 much
either but it might be simplest thing.

Need to think on it for a bit.

Cheers,
Ian.

Bug#426637: Patch to build with FLAC 1.2 and recent GNUstep

2007-11-05 Thread Gürkan Sengün

Hello Yavor

Here is my pathetic attempt to fix this bug. With this patch,
cynthiune.app builds fine with disable-windowsmedia=yes, but
unfortunately I can't test it properly (no sound card here). There
was a minor issue with the bundles' installation (similar to the one
in talksoup.app), so this fixes it as well.

Many thanks for the patches, but...
Cynthiune builds fine, but when I start it I get this:

2007-11-05 09:36:02.865 Cynthiune[8224] Failed to load Gorm
2007-11-05 09:36:02.865 Cynthiune[8224] Could not load Gorm file:

2007-11-05 09:36:02.888 Cynthiune[8224] Cannot load the main model file
'Cynthiune'

I don't know if this is a problem with the gorm files or GNUstep, however
here's all the stuff:
http://gnu.ethz.ch/debian/cynthiune/

Please let me know if it works for you. I'm not including the debian
changes as they're fairly trivial (just ask me if you need them).

(AFAIK cynthiune.app is the only package not yet ported to the new
FLAC so this will complete the libflac7-libflac8 transition as well
-- if it is done right, of course, which I highly doubt.)

Great, once fixed these, the GNUstep transition is over too:
http://wiki.debian.org/OngoingTransitions

Apropos TalkSoup and Preferences, I also have problems building/installing/running
them, please see for yourself:

I can't open a video with mplayer through nautilus anymore (with right
click, then select mplayer...). When a video file has a name which
contains special caracteres (like space, or [, or ]), mplayer fails to
open the file. For example, if a video has the name good test,
mplayer fails with : Fails to open file:///good%20test. If I lauch
gmplayer through a terminal, it works fine...

The mplayer.desktop file contains Exec=gmplayer %U. If it cannot
understand properly formed URIs, it should instead be Exec=gmplayer or
Exec=gmplayer %F.

Cheers,

Bug#443272: Partitions detected with mac-fdisk, but not with partman.

2007-11-05 Thread Charles Plessy
[CC to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Does it work for someone ?]

Dear installer team,

I have tested the latest daily install disk, Debian GNU/Linux testing
Lenny - Official Snapshot powerpc BC Binary-1 20071104-10:21, and when
it arrives to Partman, it does not manage to detect my partition table.

Here is the output of mac-fdisk:

For the partman log, I attach it to the mail because it is a bit long. You can
ignore the windows drive on sdb. It is not the one on which I will install
Debian, it will be removed soon, and the problem I have with partman happened
already before I connected it.

I hope that you can help me to install Debian on this computer. On my side, I
can test updated versions of the installer on this one, and on an iMac G5 if
necessary.

Have a nice day,

Bug#449211: xserver-xorg-video-ati: no video sync when dri enabled

2007-11-05 Thread Joachim Achtzehnter

Brice Goglin wrote:

Please try xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.7.195-2 currently in experimental.
The 6.6.x branch is dead anyway, all the work goes into 6.7.x, which
already works better in most cases (and supports RandR 1.2).

After installing 1:6.7.195-2 the same problem still occurs, it works
with dri disabled, but when dri is loaded the video is just a flashing
mess, as if it isn't syncing. Switching to a console works fine, it is
only the X screen on console 7 that is messed up.

I'm attaching the server log file for a failing case, the initial bug
report included the log file for the case with dri disabled.

Is this fixed by MetaPost 1.00, or is this something new?

Works for me (MetaPost 1.000).

This bug will be fixed in MetPost 1.001 (to be released this week)

Bug#449338: find -xdev crosses -obind mountpoints

2007-11-05 Thread Peter Chubb

Package: findutils
Version: 4.2.31-1

-xdev isn't supposed to cross mountpoints, but it can if the
subdirectory is on the same device.

To show the problem:

mkdir -p a/b/c/d
cd a
mkdir e
 e/foo
mount -obind e b/c/d
find b -xdev

find prints b/c/d/foo which is across the mountpoint.

On my system, this causes some large directories (/home) to be backed
up multiple times because they're bind-mounted in /var/chroot/xxx/home

Bug#449118: Additional information

2007-11-05 Thread Hans-J. Ullrich
Am Montag 05 November 2007 schrieb Kevin Krammer:
On Sunday 04 November 2007, Hans-J. Ullrich wrote:
  Dear maintainers,
due to your hints I stopped kmail and deleted the FILES ~/Mail/drafts,
  ~/Mail/trash, ~Mails/sent-mails and ~/Mail/outbox.
Then started kmail again and got four new DIRECTORIES with
  subdirectories cur, new and tmp.

I suppose, this is the correct form, it should be.

The other form would be correct as well (single file, mbox format). This
directory based format is the maildir variant.

One of the things you have reported earlier, the folder being empty but the
file not being zero sized, is a result of the mbox format.
Deleted message are just marked as deleted, since actual deleting would
require to copy all others to a temporary file and then rename this file to
 the original name.

To avoid this on every single deletion, the copying/renaming only happend
when the respective folder is compressed.

I am using kamil and my home directory now for several years (yes, Linux
is real stable and now since 5 years I never had to reinstall), so I
suppose, the mentioned FILES are a relict of an older version of kmail,
  aren`t they

Yes, mbox is the older default format, but since it has its own qualities,
it can still be chosen when new folders are created but maildir is now the
 default.

O.k., if everything is working fine now (as it strongly seems), how can I
reimport my drafts ? Is there some way.

It should be possible to just rename the respective files, e.g.
rename drafts to drafts.backup and copy them into ~/Mail while KMail is
not running. KMail should then at startup pick up this new file as a folder
with the same name and you can copy/move the messages to the new
 destination.

 Cheers,
 Kevin

Hi Kevin,
thank you for your help. This is explaining it. I got the solution now.
It is just because of a relict of old kmail versions.

You can safely close the bug. Everything is working fine now.

Thank you very much for your help !

Cheers

Hans

When the init script is called with the argument reload, it restarts
the server. This is not allowed. If reloading without restarting is
not possible, then reload must do nothing.

Right, reload shouldn't allowed then (it is optional anyway).

This also applies to (most of) the other init scripts of the courier
package.

Thanks for the report

Bug#449340: iceowl FTBFS on mips/mipsel

2007-11-05 Thread Thiemo Seufer
Package: iceowl
Version: 0.5-2
Tags: patch

Iceowl currently fails to build on mips/mipsel because it doesn't carry
the usual set of mozilla patches which add MIPS support.

The three patches attached fix the problem, they are derived from the
xulrunner ones.

It looks like iceowl should eventually use most of the xulrunner patches,
they fix a number of problems which seem to be common to both packages.

Bug#418736: Are there any initial passes at 3.8.0 support?

2007-11-05 Thread Mark Rogers

Not sure if anyone is doing anything on this?

I've had a look at doing a straight build of 3.8.0 using the debian mods
for 3.6.8 (ie without making any of the improvements above) and got that
working with little difficulty. I used the Ubuntu source packages as
that's what was most convenient for me, but I don't see why anyone
should have any difficulty with the straight Debian packages. The main
things were the removal of the Oracle driver and a couple of copyright
date changes in the files which broke the patches.

If I can be of any assistance let me know - I would like to see dspam
updated in the Debian repos as much as anyone here.

NB: I've only just built dspam-3.8.0, I haven't done anything much in
the way of testing. Building .debs is something of a novelty to me at
the moment so I'm treading carefully until I find my feet.

 Please fix this bug ASAP.
I can see on the upstream bugzilla that removing the patch fixes the problem.
 So please do so !

Versions of packages gnome-power-manager depends on:
 ii hal 0.5.9.1-6Hardware Abstraction Layer

Upgrading hal to 0.5.10 should fix the issue. We will fix the
dependencies soon.

Cheers,

Could you write some lines explaining how you configured psi to

BTW, sorry that I wasn't able to help you with this issue, I'm only

2007-11-05 Thread Alexander E. Patrakov

Package: linphone
Version: 1.7.1-3
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

The Ring sound device preference is a drop-down list without the
possibility to enter something custom. This is bad, because there is no
way to use a non-default sound card with wrappers such as plug or
softvol that ALSA provides to all well-written applications (that open
default:1 as a sound device instead of hw:1).

Also, it (wrongly) lists ALSA: SAA7134, which is a capture-only device.

When I start pixfrogger it asks me to choose between Spanish and
English. I already chose English when I logged into my computer, and
pixfrogger should be able to detect my locale and use it. As you can see
below, other programs (such as reportbug) are perfectly capable of
 this.

It might not be as easy as it sounds. I'll have to check if fenix, the
language and environment used to develop the game, is capable of that in a
simple way, and if not I'd probably have to fix that first, and afterwards fix
the program.

Thanks for the report anyway, I'll try to fix it as soon as I can.

Well, everything is in the subject. One of the culprits is copy_from(),
which reads/writes the whole tree one while it is far from necessary.
What would you recommend? Using hardlinks? We can't untar right into the
git repo since we might need to mangle/filter files. Any suggestions are
  very welcome.

Why do you need to mangle/filter files ?
To get the exact directory names, but this can probably be achieved with
a combination of --strip and -C - I'll have a look.

Another one is the fact that import-dsc also runs dpkg-source -x, which
means the .orig.tar.gz gets uncompressed and written out twice.
What should we do about this? Not using dpkg-source -x would mean
getting into the details of how debian patches are being applied -
that's easy enough at the moment since we only have a single diff.gz but
we'd have to keep up with changes in the packaging format ourselves
then or am I missing something?

We won't get a different source format before some time, so in the
meanwhile, options can surely be added to dpkg-source... but even so,
IIRC the new source format allows to have several orig tarballs, which
would require special care from git-buildpackage... so you'll need to
 get into the details anyway.
You're probably right. Running git-apply debian-patch would safe quiet
some time. I'll have a look too but please don't hold your breath.

Hi,
I can't open a video with mplayer through nautilus anymore (with right
click, then select mplayer...).

If it cannot
understand properly formed URIs, it should instead be Exec=gmplayer or
Exec=gmplayer %F.

Bug#449345: exim4: daemon exits without notice when there is no disk space

2007-11-05 Thread Paul van Tilburg
Package: exim4
Version: 4.63-17
Severity: important

I am running an important exim4 server for dozens of users on Etch.
However, lately, when I notice that I do not get any mail anymore it seems
that the exim4 server has just exited/crashed, because it is no longer
running. When using QUEUERUNNER='separate', the queuerunner stays alive,
but after a while the stmp listener/daemon is dead.

After three days, I finally found something in the logs that might indicate
the source of the problems:
Nov 4 17:47:02 sphere exim[12843]: 2007-11-04 17:47:02 1IoicV-0003L9-DS failed
to write to main log: length=205 result=142 errno=9 (Bad file descriptor)
Nov 4 17:47:03 sphere exim[12843]: write failed on panic log: length=118
result=-1 errno=28 (No space left on device)
Nov 4 17:47:05 sphere exim[12844]: 2007-11-04 17:47:05 1Ioicr-0003LA-HM failed

Nov 4 17:47:05 sphere exim[12844]: write failed on panic log: length=122
result=-1 errno=28 (No space left on device)
[and so on...]

IMHO, the daemon should stay alive and try to log this or my change its
process name, appending [out of disk space] or something.

Paul

I agree with Alexandre. Not a kernel bug; Juju is a DEVELOPMENT UNSTABLE
stack. (Though I see from the kernel build that even further patches
have been applied to the current SVN so maybe thats not so broken,
however that is NOT in unstable/testing...).

no complete wrong perspective.
the old stack had a numerous nr. of problem and is disabled due to
security concerns. also userspace has to adapt itself to the new stack.
fedora 7 released 1/2 a year ago with the new stack and so did fedora 8.
i agree that the juju stack is not yet feature complete, but improved
already quite a lot since 2.6.22 inclusion.

if you want to contribute test latest and holler upstream

Bug#449346: kvm: network sometimes just stops

since running the current versions of kvm + kernel, my guest machine drops

I'm not sure why we would do this rather than just package 2.3.39.
Wouldn't the latter be a better idea for unstable? (For the stable
security release, of course, we should just cherry-pick the one fix,
assuming it applies to the stable version, which I haven't checked.)

Also, 2.4 is now officially released, so we should really switch to that
ASAP so that we can get rid of 2.2. I'll send more mail about that later
this week, though, since that's going to be a complex transition.
Upgrading to the upstream 2.3.39 release should be simple.

Upgrade to 2.3.39 is I think the better choice here and after that we
can make the switch to 2.4. And now that 2.4 is officially released I
can add some initially packaging for 2.4 in svn.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sorry to be a nuisance, but I've never

it. I tried adding this line to my sources.list file:

(at the bottom) and then doing an apt-get update; that did nothing. I
can't find the experimental version of the driver using dselect. I
can't find any relevant online documentation on how to install
experimental packages either. Can you give me some quick instructions?
I wish the documentaion was more comprehensive.

I am not sure that there is some real documentation for all this,
since we mostly discourage people from using experimental without
a good reason.

Your sources.list should be good. But apt-get must be told explicitly
to install something from experimental, it won't do it by default (or
it could break your whole install).

Try apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-ati/experimental

This was with libsane-1.0.18. When I downgraded to libsane-1.0.15 and

Which backend do you use ? I think this model is supported by hplip,

That is reason why I retitled the bug report to unknown network card

I don't known / I can't see
why installation is not continued after detecting the Hard Disk.

I aborted it.
I installed and configured testing(Lenny)-netinst(13 Aug 2007),
and 4.0Etch to same K8M800-MLVF machines.
I want take pictures and write installation how-to.
The installer detected network card, never missed it.
But this time testing(Lenny)-CD-1(15 Oct 2007) can not detect.
So I wrote report.
I tried testing(Lenny)-CD-1(29 Oct 2007) too.
It can't detect network card too. And in addition,
the installer said,
No kernel modules were found.
This probably is due to a mismatch between the
kernel used by this version of the installer and
the kernel version available in the archive...

Please provide more information.

Things important to tell:

* Did the install from augustus had a working network card?

Yes, the net work card is on board, exactly same.

* the output of

* Why the install was aborted after hard disk detection.

I tried several times to detect network card.
I got a menu to try again and shell,
I thought may be many trouble to continue without network,
so I quit installation.

Bug#449347: F3 no longer continues search.

2007-11-05 Thread Brandon
Package: geany
Version: 0.12-1
Severity: minor

In almost every gui text editor that supports searching through text,
you can press Ctrl-F to find some text, and then press F3 to find the
next instance of that text. This includes firefox, leafpad, windows
notepad, and geany 0.11.

Geany 0.12 changed this. Now, Ctrl-G finds the next instance of text,
and F3 does nothing. I think it would be best to either put the hotkey
for Find Next back to F3, or make the hotkey both F3 and Ctrl-G.

configuration of all this is, requiring the coordinated use of
qtconfig-qt3 and the fonts configuration option in psi highly
unintuitive (imho). I don't know where this is explained, too.

Could you write some lines explaining how you configured psi to
display these fonts well? Then I could add it as a readme to to
 /usr/share/doc/psi/.

BTW, sorry that I wasn't able to help you with this issue, I'm only
using characters available in latin1, so most programs just work in that
 regard.

below is a quick run-down from memory. It's been a while since I did
it, and I'm currently not in the mood for experimenting too much (and
rather time-constrained, too).

I have de_DE.utf8 as my standard language environment. This is
probably important because I guess that when you are using non-UTF8
locales, your results will differ by a LARGE margin.

Next, one needs an input method because chinese glyphs can't be
directly typed (~50.000 against ~100 keys... go figure). I use scim,
and I implemented the Smart Pinyin input method (and would like help
with other methods).

One also needs all fonts that one can grab. The names of the font
packages don't readily suggest which fonts are in them, and the only
font I found working well enough for me seems to be AR PL ShanHeiSun
Uni. I don't know which package contains it, however. I also don't
know which other font and/or input method I'd have to choose if I
wanted to write Traditional Chinese... help appreciated!

Next, fire up qtconfig-qt3 (because psi is a qt3 program), go to the
tab labelled 'Fonts', and select a font. I selected Sans Serif as my
default font because I usually use western fonts. Then select the Sans
Serif family in the drop-down menu labelled Select or Enter a
Family. Then, go to the bottom of that pane and select the font AR PL
ShanHeiSun Uni in the drop-down menu labelled Select substitude
Family. In psi, you also select Sans Serif as your standard font.

As far as I understood, this results in psi (or any other qt3
application) looking for a glyph it cannot display using the standard
font, will look into the substitution table and try to take the glyphs
from the fonts listed there, in order. But you need to match your font
settings in psi with the font settings in qtconfig-qt3 in order to make
qt3 look up the correct subsitutions for you. Eg it should be possible
to replace all occurrences of Sans Serif with Times.

I don't know how to do this with other non-latin fonts, however. Also,
the idea of using qtconfig-qt3 was not mine. It was suggested to me by
someone who had a similar problem in the past.

Best,

I would like to request youtube-dl 2007.10.09-1 be included in Volatile

It only consists of one Python script and sundry files; only depends on
python (= 2.4). Here are the included files:

   /usr/bin/youtube-dl
   /usr/share/doc/youtube-dl/copyright
   /usr/share/doc/youtube-dl/changelog.Debian.gz
   /usr/share/man/man1/youtube-dl.1.gz

I've been using a version from upstream by just replacing
/usr/bin/youtube-dl and that has worked OK.

It is up to the package maintainer to make such a request.

Looks like the suggestion has already been made to him in debian bug #439363,
which I am cc'ing in this.

Such a program seems to falls into a category that has been considered before,
and reading the archives of the list for this should prove instructive. In
particular, whether changes in the code might be so dramatic as to make any
guarantee of stability hard to make.

Paddy

Ok...

I don't have that classics, but that's not the problem. An attempted
fresh re-install came to the same problem.

Well, I think you kind of null-ified any chance of reproducing the
same bug you encountered and reported initially. I asked for the
classic.xml file *you* modified.

That was the file I was interested in.

Getting the original file was as simple as reinstalling the wormux-data package.

You say that after install you found the same problem. Do you mean
that you *purged* *both* wormux and womux-data and *still* got a
segfault?

I was trying to install it via source from their site (after another
fresh complete removal (+directories) ) and came across an odd problem:
It can't find libcurl or libxml++, despite me adjusting the individual

Yes, because they are versioned in Debian. But still I don't think is
relevant for Debian you reproducing that bug with the original source,
since the Debian source contains some fixes which the original source
does not.

Please, if you still have your modified classic.xml file, send that to
the BTS. After that, purge and reinstall both wormux and wormux-data
and see if your bug is still present.

P.S.: If you really want to compile from upstream's source, which I
*don't*recommend*, try to apt-get build-dep wormux (as root) and
then to compile the source. That command will take care to install the
build dependencies and will allow a clean build.

  Hi Christian,

Crystalspace 1.2rc2 is available from upstream. Maybe it's worth trying
to package it, to see if that bug is fixed?

I don't believe a lot in this, the main problem with CS is that there is
a system of dynamic modules that link with static libs when the dynamic
version is not available. The is no obligation in the policy to provide
 a dynamic module.
I think the best I should do is to restrict support to some arch, so the
 package can go in testing.

Hi Christian,

Any progress on this?

I'm asking because crystalspace shows up very high on my list of
packages that should maybe be removed from Debian (RC buggy for a long
time, not in testing for a long time, low popcon).

Upgrade to 2.3.39 is I think the better choice here and after that we can
 make
the switch to 2.4. And now that 2.4 is officially released I can add some
initially packaging for 2.4 in svn.

Sure upgrading to 2.3.39 is a better choice! There was no
feedback yet to this bug report and it would be nice to see
this fixed as soon as possible. Please go ahead and package
the new upstream version then. Please consider to upload a
version with the patch if this would keep this bug unfixed
for a longer time.
Kind regards
Nico

Bug#449349: libgnutls13: lftp fails with gnutls_record_recv error

2007-11-05 Thread Astrid de Wijn
Package: libgnutls13
Version: 2.0.1-1
Severity: normal

This is bug occurs in combination with lftp. The error suggests that the bug is
in libgnutls13 and not lftp, but I have no idea what is going on, so i am
not completely sure of this. Please forward this to the lftp maintainer if
you think the problem is there.

After connecting to the https server, and starting a download,
at first everything is fine. But after some time the download fails
with the following error:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/tmp$ lftp https://server.somethingorother/directory/
lftp server.somethingorother:/directory mget file1
mget: Fatal error: gnutls_record_recv: GnuTLS internal error.
lftp server.somethingorother:/directory

I have reproduced the problem with the same package versions, but on
machines that are not being looked after by me.

The files i'm getting usually end up a few megabytes large (file names altered
to protect privacy)
-rw-r--r-- 1 astrid astrid 15368192 Nov 5 11:34 /tmp/file1
-rw-r--r-- 1 astrid astrid 6029312 Nov 5 11:50 /tmp/file2

When I reproduced the bug on another machine, the resulting file sizes
were exactly the same.

Because i have no idea what is going on, i'm not able to tell you anything
else intelligent. Please let me know if you need any further information
from me.

Bug#449348: le: please rebuild against libncursesw5

2007-11-05 Thread Alexander E. Patrakov

Package: le
Version: 1.13.4-1
Severity: normal
Tags: l10n

The upstream package description and freshmeat.net article mention that
le is able to edit text in multibyte encodings. This is important,
because Debian defaults to UTF-8 based locales now. However, the Debian
le package cannot do this, because it is built against libncurses5,
not libncursesw5. If the libncursesw5-dev package is installed, the
package is built correctly with UTF-8 support, so this is just a simple
matter of changing libncurses5-dev to libncursesw5-dev in Build-Depends.

OK.

 No kernel modules were found.
This probably is due to a mismatch between the
kernel used by this version of the installer and
the kernel version available in the archive...

This is a known issue. The weekly full CD images are known to be broken.
This is being worked on.

  * Did the install from augustus had a working network card?

Yes, the net work card is on board, exactly same.

  * the output of

   Inc. VT6102 [Rhine-II] [1106:3065] (rev 78)

Would it be possibly for you to try an installation with the businesscard
image from:
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/i386/jigdo-cd/

Does that recognize your network card? If that works (and I'm almost certain
that it will), then the fact that your networkcard is not detected is a
result of the issue above and not a different issue.

You don't have to complete the installation if you don't want to. We just
need to check that the network card is detected correctly. You can abort
the installation after that.

Thanks,
FJP

Jonas: if you can't reproduce the crash, it might be a good idea to mark

Bug#443272: Partitions detected with mac-fdisk, but not with partman.

2007-11-05 Thread Frans Pop
On Monday 05 November 2007, Charles Plessy wrote:
I have tested the latest daily install disk, Debian GNU/Linux testing
Lenny - Official Snapshot powerpc BC Binary-1 20071104-10:21, and when
it arrives to Partman, it does not manage to detect my partition table.

You do not say anything about what type of system this is. Please do always
provide that information!

For the partman log, I attach it to the mail because it is a bit long.

There is basically nothing at all in the partman log about /dev/sda.
This makes it most likely that libparted just does not recognize your
partition table.

A few questions before we reassign this report to libparted:
- to check if the drive itself (and the partition table) are correctly
identified by the kernel: what's the output of 'dmesg | grep sda'
- to check if libparted is the problem: could you check (using some
life CD for example) if the utility 'parted' recognizes the table

Cheers,
FJP

Bug#449029: unknown network card

2007-11-05 Thread Otavio Salvador
Adachi Junichi [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:

The installer detected network card, never missed it.
But this time testing(Lenny)-CD-1(15 Oct 2007) can not detect.

Good. Looks to be due kernel and modules mismatch ... will check it.

Bug#449358: ITP: libjboss-remoting-java -- JBoss Remoting

2007-11-05 Thread Varun Hiremath
Package: wnpp
Owner: Varun Hiremath [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: libjboss-remoting-java
  Version : 2.2.0.GA
  Upstream Author : JBoss Inc.
* URL or Web page : http://labs.jboss.com/jbossremoting/
* License : LGPL
  Description : JBoss Remoting

The purpose of JBoss Remoting is to provide a single API for most
network based invocations and related service that uses pluggable
transports and data marshallers. The JBoss Remoting API provides the
ability for making synchronous and asynchronous remote calls, push
and pull callbacks, and automatic discovery of remoting servers. The
intention is to allow for the addition of different transports to fit
different needs, yet still maintain the same API for making the
remote invocations and only requiring configuration changes, not code
changes, to fit these different needs.
