Please unblock package samba

Apart from a few debcofn translation updates, it includes the
following changes:

- the update-arch target in debian/rules was updated to avoid adding
extra spaces at each invocation (regex magic by Steve Langasek)

- backported an upstream fix for a close to be RC bug: Gnome VFS
clients can't copy files to share when SMB signing is used. This has
already been included in Ubuntu given the high number of impacted users

Hi Ola,
no the VE could not be resumed. But I can not tell you if the cause of
this is wrong checkpointing or wrong resuming. Checkpointing seams to run

 Hi Ulrich

 Do this mean that checkpointing have totally stopped working with the

 Full Bug report and patches to fix the Bug can be found at:

 Because this is a backport kernel the bug should also occur on squeeze

Bug#605974: darcsweb: [debconf_rewrite] Debconf templates and debian/control review

2010-12-05 Thread Christian Perrier
Package: darcsweb
Version: N/A
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Dear Debian maintainer,

On Wednesday, November 24, 2010, I notified you of the beginning of a review
process
concerning debconf templates for darcsweb.

The debian-l10n-english contributors have now reviewed these templates,
and the proposed changes are attached to this bug report.

Please review the suggested changes, and if you have any
objections, let me know in the next 3 days.

However, please try to avoid uploading darcsweb with these changes
right now.

The second phase of this process will begin on Wednesday, December 08, 2010,
when I will
coordinate updates to translations of debconf templates.

The existing translators will be notified of the changes: they will
receive an updated PO file for their language.

Simultaneously, a general call for new translations will be sent to
the debian-i18n mailing list.

Both these calls for translations will request updates to be sent as
individual bug reports. That will probably trigger a lot of bug
reports against your package, but these should be easier to deal with.

The call for translation updates and new translations will run until
about Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Please avoid uploading a package with fixed
or changed
debconf templates and/or translation updates in the meantime. Of
course, other changes are safe.

Please note that this is an approximative delay, which depends on my
own availability to process this work and is influenced by the fact
that I simultaneously work on many packages.

Around Thursday, December 30, 2010, I will contact you again and will send a
final patch
summarizing all the updates (changes to debconf templates,
updates to debconf translations and new debconf translations).

Again, thanks for your attention and cooperation.

Hi,

I can confirm this bug still happens on rdesktop 1.6.0-2 (Debian Lenny
i386).

As Trygve Vea said:

- It seems to happen afer idling with the focus on the rdesktop window.
- Firing up the screensaver usually solves the problem.

Another workaround is to remotely ssh into the machine and kill the
rdesktop process.

Best regards,

2010-12-05 Thread Lionel Elie Mamane
A packaged version of sqliteodbc 0.87, which fixes all these bugs is
at http://people.debian.org/~lmamane/sqliteodbc/ . AFAIK, the only
change it would need before upload would be either make it a proper
NMU (say it is a NMU in changelog) or a proper MU or a proper hijack
(change version numbers and maintainer in debian/control). Oh, and
check against newer Standards-Version, too.

Rerunning autoreconf should also fix #570246.

Bug#605977: clamav causes a segfault in dansguardian after most recent update

2010-12-05 Thread Michael Tautschnig
Hi,

 Package: clamav
 Version: 0.94.dfsg.2-1lenny2
 Severity: important

 Clamav causes dansguardian to segfault. Only workaround is disabling it in
 dansguardian.

 This has happened after one of the most recent clamav updates (within last 2
 days).

[...]

Which clamav update would you be referring to? Packages in lenny haven't change
in a while. Given the version of your clamav packages, however, you are almost
surely facing the problem of clamav being disabled anyway via upstream's
signatures. You might want to take a look at

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=550296

and should switch over to the up-to-date packages provided in the volatile
repository (see http://www.debian.org/volatile/).

Hope this helps,
Michael

Bug#605832: /bin/mv: Issue with mv: inter-device move failed:

2010-12-05 Thread French Noob

Hello Bod,

I am working on a sort of extension to mv:

echo Enhancement to mv program
if [ -d $1  ]  [ ! -d $2  ]  ; then
echo Creating folder $2   ; mkdir -p $2
fi

if [ -d $1 ] ; then
FOLDER=`basename $1`
var=$2 ; lastchar=${var##${var%%?}}
if [ $lastchar = /  ] ; then
TARGET=$2$FOLDER
else
TARGET=$2/$FOLDER
fi
echo Moving folder $1 to $TARGET
[ ! -d $2  ]  mkdir -p $2
rsync -avPr --ignore-existing --remove-source-files $1 $2
else
TARGET=$2
echo Moving file $1 to $TARGET
rsync -avPr --ignore-existing --remove-source-files $1 $TARGET
fi

However it is not perfeclty working... since it moves wrongly the content of
folder or create a newer one.

the right way would be :
movemerge /path/sourcefolder /path2/targetfolder
and one gets:  /path2/targetfolder/sourcefolder

well not working ... yet. I hope I can make it;

best regards
F.

 mv PDF /home/gerard/
 mv: inter-device move failed: `PDF' to `/home/gerard/PDF'; unable to remove
target: Is a directory

The target /home/gerard/PDF appears to be a directory. The source
also appears to be a directory. You are trying to move a directory on
top of an existing directory. Plus this is across devices. The
source and destination directories exist on different filesystems.
That combination is triggering this problem. But it isn't really a
bug in mv so much as a limitation of what can be done in that case.

In order to do this mv tries to remove the target so that it can be
replaced with the source. But the target is a directory and therefore
throws this error. Think about the problem of what mv would need to
do if the target directory contained other files. Should it remove
those files first? That could get into a loss of data situation.

In those situations it is better to copy the files from the source
directory into the target directory. Then remove the source if you
want it to go away.

  $ cp -a PDF /home/gerard/
  $ ..ifdesired... rm -rf PDF

Sometimes people fall into this because they have run a cp command
multiple times back to back. The first one copies the directory and
then it exists in both places. Then they try to move the directory
and find that it already exists. In those cases where one is repeated
copying the contents of a directory from one place to another the
rsync command is most suited to the task.

  rsync -a source destdir/

 I did ls -ltra and visibly there is no LN link file going on ... I
 still do not understand what is about this issue

What does this say?

  $ ls -ld PDF /home/gerard/PDF

That should show it as a directory in both the source and destination.

If the above is not the case then the following are more instructions
for getting further information. If your problem is solved by the
above then nothing below this is needed.

What are the types of the filesystems involved? This can be seen with
the 'df -T' option. The type column will say this information. I am
wondering if non-unix filesystems such as VFAT are involved?

  $ df -TP . /home/gerard

To get more information it would be useful to trace the system calls
and report what mv is doing. The strace command is useful for this.

  $ sudo apt-get install strace

Then use it to strace the mv command and report what it is happening
with the system calls like this:

  $ strace -v -o /tmp/mv.strace.out -e trace=file mv PDF /home/gerard/

Thanks,
Bob

 The lldpad package is an implementation of the Link Layer Discovery Protocol
 (LLDP). It originated from Intel's Data Center Bridging (DCB) software - the
 dcbd package. The lldpad package adds LLDP support for all ports in addition
 to DCB Exchange protocol (DCBX) support on DCB capable ports (as was provided
 by dcbd). Also, support for additional LLDP TLVs has been added.

 DCB is a collection of emerging standards-based technologies designed to allow
 Ethernet to support multiple types of traffic classes in the Data Center.
 The DCBX functionality of this package is designed to work with the DCB kernel
 interface (dcbnl in rtnetlink) that is included in the Linux kernel 2.6.29 or
 higher. The Intel ixgbe driver supports the dcbnl interface.

Bug#605980: sbox-dtc: unowned files in /usr/local after purge (policy 6.8)

Package: sbox-dtc
Version: 1.11.2-2
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts piuparts.d.o

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package left unowned files on the
system after purge, which is a violation of policy 6.8:

http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-maintainerscripts.html#s-removedetails

From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

0m10.9s ERROR: FAIL: Package purging left files on system:
  /home/dtc  not owned
  /home/dtc/.bash_logout not owned
  /home/dtc/.bashrc  not owned
  /home/dtc/.profile not owned
  /var/log/sbox.log  not owned

If your package had only left files in /var/log after purge, I would have filed
this as important. But as your package created /home/dtc (WTF?!), I'm filing
this as it is.

Description: A CGI wrapper script for chrooted environment for hosting
 Sbox is a CGI wrapper script that allows Web site hosting
 services to safely grant CGI authoring privileges to untrusted
 clients. In addition to changing the process privileges of client
 scripts to match their owners, it goes beyond other wrappers by
 placing configurable ceilings on script resource usage, avoiding
 unintentional (as well as intentional) denial of service attacks. It
 also optionally allows the Webmaster to place client's CGI scripts in
 a chroot'ed shell restricted to the author's home directories.

Hi Daniel,

I'm trying to check up on some of the older bug reports about the
Inkscape package in Debian.

Do you still experience the parser error messages when you start
Inkscape?  If not, I'll close this report.

A similar upstream report has been marked as fixed:

Comments/Problems:

Installed Debian Edu/Squeeze via PXE, and the installation starts as
it should and is able to download the udebs and continue throught to
the partitioning step. At this step the installer complain that the
mirror selected is unavailable. A closer look show that the network
settings has disappeared. Running 'route' at this point show no IP
routes set up. Several tests later, I find that the network is
correctly set up at boot, but the settings are lost after a while. We
tried the same PXE installation using a Acer Aspire One, and on this
hardware the network settings are not lost during installation.

The installation was able to succeed after setting the network up
again manually in tty2, and asking partman to try again.

The network is up when clock-setup is running, but down when partman
starts. The installation log fragment from clock-setup until the
network was set up again manually is included below.

I can confirm this bug und noticed something else. If I kill the
background process of pcmanfm, which is triggered during startup, I can
start pcmanfm.

Funny enough, on my laptop with nearly the same installation, I don't

 Gitso is meant to be a simple two-step process that connects one person to
 another's screen. First, the support person offers to give support. Second,
 the person who needs help connects and has their screen remotely visible.
 .
 Because Gitso is cross-platform (Linux, OS X and Windows) and uses a reverse
 VNC connection, it greatly simplifies the process of getting support.

On Sat, Dec 04, 2010 at 05:21:30PM +, Ben Hutchings wrote:
 I am inclined to suspect the fglrx driver. Please try to reproduce this

No solid results yet. My system freezes without fglrx driver right after
I log in via gdm. It is always reproducible and I will go
ahead and create a separate issue on it.

I did not manage to reproduce the freeze with just the gdm
window left idle. The system does not freeze at this case,
but using oith open source and fglrx driver. I managed to
get system running over the night using fglrx and it did not
freeze.

So now my target is to understand what exactly happens after
gdm login that makes this bug reproducible.

 The warning in the log about r8169 is in no way fatal, it just means the
 network transmit path locked up and had to be reset. By the way, the
 firmware licencing situation for this driver (bug #564628) looks likely
 to be resolved soon.

Great to hear, but if it is not related to it than it looks
to be working without this firmware in my case.

Bug#605977: clamav causes a segfault in dansguardian after most recent update

Sorry,

My fault. I moved a couple of days back it to a different machine which

It worked initially, so I did not notice the problem.

You can close or merge this one with the existing clamav disabled
upstream bug.

Apologies,

Michael Tautschnig wrote:

Clamav causes dansguardian to segfault. Only workaround is disabling it in
dansguardian.

This has happened after one of the most recent clamav updates (within last 2
days).

[...]

Which clamav update would you be referring to? Packages in lenny haven't change
in a while. Given the version of your clamav packages, however, you are almost
surely facing the problem of clamav being disabled anyway via upstream's
signatures. You might want to take a look at

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=550296

and should switch over to the up-to-date packages provided in the volatile
repository (see http://www.debian.org/volatile/).

Hope this helps,
Michael

Bug#605159: gnumed-client: Use of PYTHONPATH env var in an insecure way

On 11/30/2010 05:25 PM, Andreas (Debian) wrote:
 Hi,

 thanks to the support of upstream there is a new release which fixes the
 issue. However, the issue does not even really exist in *effective*
 upstream code - it is just contained in a *comment* which is simlpy
 activated in a patch in the Debian packaging. So I wonder what might
 be the best strategy to handle this.

   1. Use upstream bugfix version which provides the proper PYTHONPATH
  setting in the comment which will be activated later plus a
  7 line patch in some unrelated code which is unlikely to break
  something else.
   2. Simply patch 0.7.9 to fix only the reported issue but leave a
  nasty bug in upstream.

 All other changes in the code are autogenerated documentation changes
 and thus excluded via --exclude=*user-manual* --exclude=*api* from the
 diff (also --exclude=Gnumed was used to hide duplication of diffs
 because directory Gnumed is a symlinc to client).

 My prefered solution is to upload 0.7.10 to testing-proposed-updates
 (because there is just a version 0.8.4 in unstable).

Uploading 0.7.10 to t-p-u is fine. Could you please go ahead with the
upload?

Bug#605990: rsync: the use of / or not is highly confusing and source of errors

2010-12-05 Thread frenchn00b
Package: rsync
Version: 3.0.7-2
Severity: wishlist

 When using / at the end of source, rsync will copy the content of the last
folder.
When not using / at the end of source, rsync will copy the last folder and
the content of the folder.

When using / at the end of destination, rsync will paste the data inside the
last folder.
When not using / at the end of destination, rsync will create a folder with
the last destination folder name and paste the data inside that folder.

However compatible with POSIX, the use of / especially for the source, I
would have say that it does the opposite.

this folder + / or folder without / at the end should do the same results
as does CP or MV (copy and move respectively)

I would guess that it will be fixed in the next releases, since it is source of
many errors and misinterpretation.

An easy solution would be to add a switch to say to copy/move content of
folders or not.

All the best
Kind regards

Bug#605992: loudmouth: using system libasyncns without Depends cause FTBFS in at least mcabber

2010-12-05 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Package: loudmouth
Version: 1.4.3-6
Severity: serious

Hi!

 Timing is pretty bad, unfortunately the change to use the system
libasyncns instead of the embedded causes troubles because packages that
formerly only did build-depend on libloudmouth-dev now also needs to
build-depend on libasyncns-dev (like mcabber).

 As quick and non-intrusive fix I would suggest to add libasyncns-dev to
the depends of the libloudmouth-dev package so no depending package
requires a change for now, and inform the reverse-depends of that
package that they might need to change their build-depends after the
squeeze release (and drop it shortly after that again).

 Thanks,
Rhonda

 Does gksu id work for you ?

Yes and show its run as uid 0.

$ gksu id
kvm_open: kvm_nlist: No such file or directory
uid=0(root) gid=0(root) groups=0(root)
LibGTop-Server: pid 8762 received eof.

 Please can you try whether xhost +local: before gksu gnome-system-log

Yes, it works then.

Before:

$ gksu gnome-system-log
kvm_open: kvm_nlist: No such file or directory
No protocol specified

(gnome-system-log:8938): gnome-system-log-CRITICAL **: Unable to parse
arguments: Cannot open display:
LibGTop-Server: pid 8949 received eof.

And gnome-system-log not displayed.

Then do:

$ xhost +local:
non-network local connections being added to access control list

After this gnome-system-log is displayed:

$ gksu gnome-system-log
kvm_open: kvm_nlist: No such file or directory
$ LibGTop-Server: pid 9202 received eof.

Interestingly, subsequent invocations do not produce the output to terminal:

$ gksu gnome-system-log

This is necessary if /build in chroots is (bind-)mounted to the outside of the
session. However, if /build is part of the cloned session,
$purge_build_directory='never' could be used in order to avoid wasting time
when session ends.

The attached patch is basically against 0.60.5-1.

Bug#605998: Text View behaves weirdly

2010-12-05 Thread Ulrich Eckhardt
Package: kompare
Version: 4:4.4.5-1

Under the Settings menu, there is an option Show Text View. There are
several things surprising with this text view:

1. The option is not saved anywhere, so if I select the text view, close
kompare and reopen it, the text view is gone and I have to activate it again.
I would have expected that kompare remembers things selected under Settings.

2. The position in the text view is the last difference, regardless of which
position in the source/target views I selected previously. The position also
doesn't move, neither the position in the source/target view when moving
through the text view nor the one in the text view when moving through the
source/target views.

3. I can edit text in the text view. I have looked around a bit, but I
couldn't find any lasting effect of these edits. They neither show up in
source/target view nor after saving the files.

4. I can not really edit text in the text view. For example, trying to type a
space triggers a hotkey that is bound to Apply Difference instead.

5. I can't detach the text view from the main window. If I do, it looses all
its content and decoration. Further, I get a stream of errors on stdout:

  X Error: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) 8
Major opcode: 62 (X_CopyArea)
Resource id:  0x58053fc

These come every second or so while the mouse is inside the detached window
which I can still move and resize or reattach, which restores the content and
stops the errors. I tried with dolphin, which uses similar detachable windows
and there I don't have any such problems. I tried with both fluxbox and icewm
in order to rule out the WM as the problem for this.

Cheers!

Uli

yes. i tried to reproduce the bug with the current version (as a part of

Bug#606000: libmail-spf-query-perl: Incorrect query results with IPv6 addresses; should warn about missing IPv6 support and/or fail graciously

2010-12-05 Thread Torsten Jerzembeck
Package: libmail-spf-query-perl
Version: 1:1.999.1-3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Using Mail::SPF::Query with an IPv6 enabled mailserver (increasingly
common today, and bound to get even more common due to the shortage of
IPv4 addresses) leads to mail being blocked incorrectly.

The spfquery helper script used in the example configuration for exim4
interprets any supplied IPv6 address as an IPv4 address and tries to
match it against the ip4 part of SPF information. This obviously fails
and leads to incorrectly blocked/rejected mail if the SPF policy uses fail
instead of softfail.

The missing IPv6 support is documented in the BUGS section of the
Mail::SPF::Query manpage, but not in any documentation for spfquery
itself. In addition, spfquery or Mail::SPF::Query do not report any
error when being supplied with an IPv6 address. As IPv6 deployments are
getting increasingly common, the script and/or the module should display
an error message in this case or should at least fail graciously. In
addition, a prominent warning should be displayed about the inability
to deal with IPv6 addresses.

Greetings from Stuttgart,

Hi Joe,

thanks for the translation, I've just uploaded updated packages.

The attachment got a bit screwed up charset-wise, it was labelled as
ascii while it was actually containing utf-8. If you don't trust your
mailer to handle this correctly, the usual workaround is to gzip the
po file before sending.

(Just as a hint, this was easy to fix here.)

 When not using / at the end of destination, rsync will create a folder with
 the last destination folder name and paste the data inside that folder.

 However compatible with POSIX, the use of / especially for the source, I
 would have say that it does the opposite.

Actually, when you get used to it, it is quite logical.
Imagine that the trailing slash has a dot appended to it (which
effectively it does). Then how it works is what you would expect.

 I would guess that it will be fixed in the next releases, since it is source
 of many errors and misinterpretation.

It's more that people won't take the time to understand how it works.
When in doubt, use the -n switch together with -v and/or -i to see what
it would do.

Experiment a bit with this, then it will become clear.
Rsync is a very powerful tool, it's not meant to be easy, it's meant to
be as useful as possible :-)

 An easy solution would be to add a switch to say to copy/move content of
 folders or not.

I think that the chances of such a switch being added are small, as:
- to find this switch one would need to read the documentation
  thoroughly
- reading the documentation thoroughly would show that sucha switch is
  not necessary as its function is available through using a trailing
  slash or not.
Hence I'm marking this bug as wontfix.

Hello Kurt,

Kurt Roeckx [2010-11-21 22:22 +0100]:
 This only seems to happen when upgrading from the version in testing,
 or installing the version in testing. That version still has files
 in /usr/share/myspell/dicts/, 2.0-1 doesn't anymore.

 I added a set -x at the top of the postinst, I get:
 + . /usr/share/debconf/confmodule
 + [ !  ]
 + PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1
 + export PERL_DL_NONLAZY
 + [  ]
 + exec /usr/share/debconf/frontend
 /var/lib/dpkg/info/postgresql-common.postinst triggered
 /usr/share/myspell/dicts
 dpkg: version '/usr/share/myspell/dicts' has bad syntax: invalid character in
 version number
 + . /usr/share/debconf/confmodule

Confirmed. In squeeze, installing postgresql-common, then myspell-nl
will reproduce this. According to [1] above call of the p-common
postinst looks correct, /usr/share/myspell/dicts is a valid trigger
name that p-common subscribes to. It looks like debconf or dpkg itself
tries to interpret $2 as a version number even if $1 = triggered;
with any other valid $1, $2 is indeed a version number, so it seems
this particular case isn't handled here?

This might also be a bug in debconf, but since the error message says
dpkg I reassign this to dpkg.

Thanks,

Martin

 No, volatile is not a place for crap, thank you. If the maintainer doesn't
 care, it doesn't need to be somewhere else than just removed.

It seems however, that maintainer prepared at least for unstable a new
package, there is one on mentors.d.o, but didn't saw a sponsor request
so far.

Only for Information so far.

2010-12-05 Thread Christian PERRIER

 I've made the following choices during setup:
 * KDE graphical environment
 * Graphical installation.
 * Network Mirror: Debian Turkey (ftp.debian.org.tr)
 After choosing default Selecting and Installing Software step,
 there is no indication about the installation status. Please see attachments.
 At first, I thought installation has crushed, but from Ctrl+Alt+F4 I could
 see the installation is still going on by getting files from the ftp.

 Please also note that, I could not install Turkish Locale, because
 installer warn me that Turkish locale is not ready. My keyboard layout and

Bug#605218: Same problem: fresh installation

2010-12-05 Thread David Martin
I've just reinstalled Ubuntu 10.04 using the Wubi download and my first
action is to try to get the Epson SX215 scanner working. It never worked
in the previous installation because of an 'Error: Wrong architecture
'i386'' message.
I've now worked out I needed the ia32-libs_20101117_amd64.deb (I'm still an
Ubuntu novice) but that fails to install as reported here. However, the
flash patch ia32-libs-workaround-499043 has not been installed (I've
checked by trying to purge it). I installed the ia32-libs but still no
joy.

 Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages
 (according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be
 slightly out of sync):

   /usr/share/xfractint/ifs/fractint.ifs

xfractint moved /usr/share/xfractint/fractint.ifs to
/usr/share/xfractint/ifs/fractint.ifs between 20.4.00-1 and
20.4.10-1.

This also means that only sid is affected by the file conflict.

A simple solution would of course be to add a Breaks/Replaces on the
old (last upload: January 2004) fractxtra; or to remove fractxtra
from the archive.

Bug#606007: GSSAPI: Modifications to chroot.

2010-12-05 Thread Mike Mestnik
Package: postfix
Version: 2.5.5-1.1
Severity: important

I'm not sure if this is a feature, bug, or inconvenience.

However I've had to create the following files and folders to get
GSSAPI working. I'm concerned about the security implications of
altering a chroot.

/var/spool/postfix/etc/krb5.conf
/var/spool/postfix/etc/krb5.keytab
/var/spool/postfix/var/tmp

The conf file is needed for the default Realm name, I don't know why
this can't be set using DNS or something.

The tmp folder is used by the library and must exist and be writable.
I used the following for these folders:
drwx--x--x 3 rootroot 4096 Dec  5 13:39 /var/spool/postfix/var
d-wx-- 2 postfix root 4096 Dec  5 13:41 /var/spool/postfix/var/tmp

I'd certainly appreciate a better solution, like sasl/krb5 proxy.

After all this my setup is still untestable, has anyone got this to
work? I'm concerned about issues with my client, but the error I'm
getting currently is: Wrong principal in request
It's not correct, I'm certainly using the correct principal... AFAICT.

I'm going to look at /var/spool/postfix/etc/hostname for example.

At the moment I don't know what the purpose of /dev/tty /dev/tty
is; and in general just leaving out the echo's would fix the problem.

of it in the package.

 it would be nice if you could upgrade to version 1.4.16.

I'm fully aware of the release, but it will probably take me some time
to create the package:

* The functional difference to 1.4.15 appears to be small to me.
  Therefore I concluded (errornously?) that it is not urgent, see
  below. Do you have a special requirement that can only be satisfied
  with this version?
* I'm currently highly loaded with my day job, which is not helpful
  to pursue the ideas I have for future roundup packages, namely
* moving from bazaar to git and git-buildpackage, possibly alongside
  setting up a Hudson job for the software and the packaging and
  finally moving the package to PAPT, too.

Again, almost sure this is due to libhtml-tree-perl 4.1-1 which has:

Bug#605964: [Pkg-libvirt-maintainers] Bug#605964: libvirt-bin: sometimes(randomly) crashes when connecting using python-libvirt

 Package: libvirt-bin

 Severity: normal

 I cannot reliably reproduce this, but here is the python I was using to crash
 libvirt-bin (sometimes):

 import libvirt
 import sys

 def main():
   #conn = libvirt.openReadOnly(None)
   conn = libvirt.openReadOnly(qemu:///system)
   print conn.isSecure()
   print conn.listDefinedDomains()

 if __name__ == __main__:
   main()

 I was switching between a conn None and the conn connected to qemu:///system.
 The conn (established with None in the call) seems to be talking to
 virtualbox.

 When it crashes I see something like this:
 [46609.226658] libvirtd[2139]: segfault at 7fa018db5bdf ip 00419293
 sp 7fa013d8a270 error 7 in libvirtd[40+dc000]
 or this
 [49173.212641] libvirtd[15647]: segfault at 7f9ac72acbdf ip 7f9acb7bcb73
 sp 7f9ac2a82270 error 7 in libvirtd[7f9acb79c000+e5000]
 in dmesg output.
Again not reproducible here. Since (from the other report) you seem to
use gdb just grab the debug package and produce a backtrace. Valgrind
might help here too. Also please check with libvirt from experimental.
Cheers,
