Bug#603450: Adopting offlineimap

2010-12-08 Thread Alexander Reichle-Schmehl
Hi John!

* John Ferlito jo...@inodes.org [100719 15:22]:

I've already done some work on cleaning up the package, so it is now
lintian clean. Will begin work on fixing a whole heap of the bugs
 next.

Am aiming to be come the new upstream maintainer.

Looking over the list of release critical bugs, I stumbled over the
package offlineimap, which currently has one release critical bug open
(and therefore risks of being removed from the release,
http:/bugs.debian.org/603450 for details).

I'm just wondering, if you are still interested in maintain this
package, and if you could help prepare a fix for this bug in time. It
would be a shame, if we couldn't ship offlineimape any more :(

Best Regards,
  Alexander

I don't know if it's a bug in the acpi-support-base scripts or in
gdm3, but it breaks power saving when my laptop's lid is closed
 here... :/

It is a bug in acpi-support-base, which should definitely not use the
display, not being part of the user’s session.

If you want to support lid close, the only thing you need is a power
management daemon.

There is no default network defined at all. Since no-one else seems to be
having the problem I'll assume that there is something wrong with my system
 rather than a bug.
What's in the logs? Whats in /etc/libvirt/qemu/networks/ and in

Bug#606273: libsoup2.4-1: libsoup prefers IPv4

 “dancing turtle” isn't dancing.

I’m afraid I cannot reproduce that with my epiphany installation.

I tried www.kame.net and the turtle is dancing. I tried my own website
and looked at the logs, and epiphany definitely accessed it using IPv6.

Thanks for reporting this observation. What was added in curl 7.21.2-2

I wonder what is the best way to resolve the issue.

in the Message ID 4cfcb731.7000...@spotify.com on the libcurl

curl to query both ipv4 and ipv6.

Thanks, I saw Tommie's message and the patch. I haven't seen any

I tested using the following config:

I verified it, and your patch works:  I accepts valid ssl connections,
 and rejects invalid ones.

 cert_reqs=ssl.CERT_REQUIRED, ca_certs=/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt)

But that looks kind of ugly, having a hardcoded path... Also, I wonder
if not self.certfile should be used for verification?

Sorry?
Um. Well sure a hard coded path path not be the best thing ... if you
know how to determine the path to the ca store on a system modify the
patch to use that I guess.

Bug#606299: dictionaries-common: possible *.el file conflicts - Already included in Emacs

2010-12-08 Thread Jari Aalto
Package: dictionaries-common
Version: 1.5.16
Severity: normal

Please consider removing the *.el files or adjusting
debian/control::Depends as they are already included in latest Emacs
since 1999. Having same files in Emacs load-path may cause potential
conflicts.

** Emacs now supports on-the-fly spell checking by the means of a
minor mode. It is called M-x flyspell-mode. You don't have to remember
any other special commands to use it, and you will hardly notice it
except when you make a spelling error. Flyspell works by highlighting
incorrect words as soon as they are completed or as soon as the cursor
hits a new word.

This is a bug in procps. It's relying on some version information which
is only present in System.map if the kernel was configured without
  CONFIG_KALLSYMS set.

Actually this is not so clear. The error message ps shows when you set
PS_SYSTEM_MAP is incorrect, but then ps shouldn't even need System.map
when the kernel is configured with CONFIG_KALLSYMS!

This is just the Debian testing generic kernel for AMD64. I see there
is an entry /proc/kallsyms that exports the symbols. That looks just
fine.

However, wchan cannot be provided when the 'omit frame pointer'
optimisation is used in the kernel. We enable that optimisation on x86
kernels, and have done for some time.

Hmmm. I though omit frame pointer only makes sense on x86. This is
AMD64.

When I run ps under strace, it neither tries to open /proc/kallsyms,
nor /boot/System.map*!?

Description: a system to automate the compile/test cycle
The BuildBot is a system to automate the compile/test cycle required
by most software projects to validate code changes. By automatically
rebuilding and testing the tree each time something has changed,
build problems are pinpointed quickly, before other developers are
inconvenienced by the failure. The guilty developer can be identified
 and harassed without human intervention.
 .
By running the builds on a variety of platforms, developers who do
not have the facilities to test their changes everywhere before
checkin will at least know shortly afterwards whether they have
broken the build or not. Warning counts, lint checks, image size,
compile time, and other build parameters can be tracked over time,
are more visible, and are therefore easier to improve.

Bug#603450: Fwd: Due offlineimap absence of certificate validation issue -- Debian BTS#603450

2010-12-08 Thread Alexander Reichle-Schmehl
Hi!

Am 08.12.2010 09:33, schrieb dave b:

I verified it, and your patch works: I accepts valid ssl connections,
 and rejects invalid ones.

At this point I should have also said many thanks for your work!
Sorry, didn't had a coffee when I wrote my first mail ;)

 +self.sslobj = ssl_wrap(self.sock, self.keyfile, self.certfile,
 cert_reqs=ssl.CERT_REQUIRED, ca_certs=/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt)

Sorry, that was complete nonsense. For a moment I thought one could use
the certfile parameter to specify a file holding certs for verification.

I take my question back. Sorry for the noise.

Best regards,
  Alexander

other packages that use the EDITOR variable.

Bug#557495: Force sub-directories for both

2010-12-08 Thread Neil Williams

Andreas Tille ti...@debian.org wrote:

Consequently libctapimkt0-dev was removed from testing (since a long
time) and this is correct for this package.

A wishlist for a common interface doesn't seem to me to be sufficient
to stop the library getting into Squeeze - it is usable alone.

 An apropriate thing to do
would have been to reassign bug #557495 only against libctapimkt0-dev
which would enable libtowitoko-dev to stay in testing (because there
is no chance to install both packages together in testing any more).

Any reason why this had not already been done? It is possible to
install both in unstable and that problem alone isn't sufficient, IMHO,
to prevent both going into Squeeze.

It was just a hint, no detail, no proof or way for others to test.

This bug isn't enough to prevent either package being in Squeeze -

The package libctapimkt0-dev is *not* in Squeeze!

Feel free to cancel the delayed upload. However, from your description I
still don't see why it should not be in Squeeze.

I have not expected that people will spend their time on fixing bugs in
packages which are not in Squeeze.

The bug was filed against both packages without resolution. I could
have just fixed one side of it but as the fix was trivial fro both, it
seemed to make sense to do it for both.

You could have saved your time if
you would have pinged me about your intend.

Equally if the bug report had been cloned / commented / updated with
more than the content I've been able to see so far, I would have just
done one side of it.

At this stage of the freeze, RC bug reports which have been open as
long as this one are worth fixing. It seems such a trivial reason to
have to remove the package from Squeeze.

 You have spended time to
clean up a package with very low popcon which is not intended for
 Squeeze.

Actually, I've spent more time discussing the lack of content in the
replies to the original bug report than in preparing the upload.

This is brave and I welcome your work but at least for me
there are currently more burning issues to do. If you want me to
discuss the issue further instead of trusting me that I'm in contact
with upstream and will handle things with upstream *after* the Squeeze
release I prefer removing the package for now and adding it later again.

OK - it's in delayed, so feel free to cancel it.

Despite what the report says, the build test was done in testing, not in
unstable. So the failure is seen in testing, and possibly not in
unstable.

Hi,

I do see that same problem when calling sysctl -p /etc/sysctl.conf

sysctl -a will cause this to happen as it lists all options, including
ones that should not be used. I'm not exactly sure how its supposed to
 know it's an old key.

Are you certain you are getting the message with
  sysctl -p /etc/sysctl.conf?

OK, you're right. I interpreted it wrongly. :-(

At least The following command will cause the message to appear:
sysctl -N -a. I'm pretty sure the -N is not necessary, I didn't
test it.

Remarks:
- it works only one time after a reboot, not sure why
- the command above is used in /etc/bash_completion.d/sysctl
  belonging to bash-completion

/etc/bash_completion.d/sysctl seems to be broken anyway. Completion
of filenames when using option -p does not work, probably b/c it
tries to evaluate the list generated by sysctl -N -a.

Bug#606265: Bug#557495: Force sub-directories for both

On Wed, Dec 08, 2010 at 09:08:02AM +, Neil Williams wrote:
Feel free to cancel the delayed upload.

I do not see a reason to make your work on this really wasted.

 However, from your description I
still don't see why it should not be in Squeeze.

Because it is not in Squeeze any more and we are in deep freeze.

I have not expected that people will spend their time on fixing bugs in
packages which are not in Squeeze.

The bug was filed against both packages without resolution. I could
have just fixed one side of it but as the fix was trivial fro both, it
seemed to make sense to do it for both.

Originally I agreed with Simon Richter that both packages will use
ctapi-dev. I had only ctapimkt in mind and communication with upstream
was slow. I'm sorry for beeing not more verbose in the bug log.

You could have saved your time if
you would have pinged me about your intend.

Equally if the bug report had been cloned / commented / updated with
more than the content I've been able to see so far, I would have just
 done one side of it.

I'm sorry for this and confirm that the issue was not apropriately
handled by me. The fact that the package has currently quite low
priority is no real excuse.

Actually, I've spent more time discussing the lack of content in the
replies to the original bug report than in preparing the upload.

So please lets stop wasting more time and leave it as it is for
the moment.

OK - it's in delayed, so feel free to cancel it.

Thanks for your work

   Andreas.

Bug#604634: cause ?

2010-12-08 Thread Michael Meeks
It looks like the collector is still running for some reason; of course,
while it is running and has that proc filesystem open - it cannot be
unmounted. So I would look into why the collector is not quitting when
it should - we should kill it (or ptrace kill it I forget which - and
then it should die) ;-)

Bug#603428: snort: prompting due to modified conffiles which where not modified by the user

2010-12-08 Thread Alexander Reichle-Schmehl
Hi!

* Holger Levsen hol...@layer-acht.org [101114 01:02]:

But this is not the real problem, the real problem is that this prompt
shows up in the first place, as there was nobody modifying this
conffile at all, the package has just been installed and upgraded...

It seems that upon installation of snort-pgsql or snort-mysql
/etc/snort/snort.conf is changed. As this file actually belongs to
snort-common, upgrade of that package fails.

So, to solve this bug, snort-common should remove these entries in it's
preinst, while snort-pgsql and snort-mysql add their configuration
snippets in a policy conform way.

It seems the easiest way to do this would be to include an
/etc/snort/snort-database.conf by default, and let that file be a
non-configuration file handled by snort-*sql... It also seems that it
must be at least an empty file, as snort doesn't start if one of it's
configuration files doesn't exists.

I think I could try to prepare an NMU for that, but would like to ask
for comments before doing so.

Best regards,
  Alexander

example of the same problem.

There's patch floating arround, which has a major regression: It doesn't
work for users of self signed certificates.

From what I've seen in the bug, even you should be able to fix that.

Bug#606311: movabletype-opensource: Unspecified XSS and SQL injection vulnerabilities fixed in 4.35

2010-12-08 Thread Dominic Hargreaves

Severity: grave
Tags: security
Justification: user security hole

From
http://www.movabletype.org/documentation/appendices/release-notes/movable-type-504-435-release-notes.html:

Movable Type 5.04 and Movable Type 4.35 are mandatory security updates
for all users. These updates resolve multiple vulnerabilities discovered
in the previous versions of Movable Type 5.x and Movable Type 4.x.

Impact

A remote attacker could execute arbitrary code in a logged-in users' web
browser (XSS). A remote attacker could read or modify the contents in the
system under certain circumstances (SQL injection).

I will look at uploading 4.35 to unstable, and assessing the impact on
stable, this evening.

Could this be fixed? Or any workaround to have a TUI to make this?

Don't have too much hope. console-data and friends are really in the
process of being obsoleted by console-setup (that uses X keymaps and
not a separate set of keymaps).

So, I would actually highly recommend to drop everything
console-related in favor of console-setup.
Is that possible I can use console-setup to have a TUI to configure the
keymap on a console?

I tried dpkg-reconfigure console-setup, but no keymap can be selected.
Thanks.

Bug#414117: netcfg link detection confused by multiple interfaces with same driver

I've experienced a similar issue, where the wrong network interface
were selected on a laptop with wired ethernet connected and a wifi
card that failed to work without extra firmware. The machine in
question is a Dell Latitude D6500.

To make it easier to debug, I recently added more debug output from

Please unblock package opendnssec

Same reasons as for opendnssec/1.1.3-2 (#605601), but this time I have
removed rebuilding *.rng files because there is an error in trang
package which causes Bus error on kfreebsd-amd64 (reported as #606309)
and whole build fails on kfreebsd-amd64. The *.rng files are provided
by upstream and hence the regeneration in the build is not absolutely
necessary.

There's patch floating arround, which has a major regression: It doesn't
work for users of self signed certificates.
From what I've seen in the bug, even you should be able to fix that.

If I'm ever interested in your opinion, I let you know.

Bug#600374: #600374: NMU for Mokomaze ?

Le Monday 29 November 2010 03:18:55 Paul Wise, vous avez écrit :
We are just waiting on the pkg-fso team to make an upload removing the

Hi,

(Removing the RM bug CC, I'll send a mail to both bugreports if/when the
upload is done.)

As there hasn't been much of an answer from the pkg-fso team, I'd like to
propose an NMU for mokomaze, in order to get this RC bug solved in time
for Squeeze. Its changelog entry would be:

 mokomaze (0.5.5+git8+dfsg0-0.1) unstable; urgency=low

   * Non-maintainer upload.
   * Repack the orig tarball to remove non-free files (Closes: #600374)
 - therefore cherry-pick two upstream commits:
+ [084f1e7] Menu icons replaced with the free ones.
+ [920fb49] Build all the images from a set of SVG files.
 - Add a librsvg2-bin B-D to build the png images from their svg source.
 - Add automake B-Ds and an autoreconf call before the build.
 - Thanks go to Paul Wise for the patches.

  -- Didier Raboud did...@raboud.com Wed, 08 Dec 2010 10:23:12 +0100

I pushed the git repository I used to prepare the orig tarball there:

http://git.debian.org/?p=users/odyx-guest/mokomaze-orig.git (branch dfsg-free)

and my update of the packaging git repository there:

http://git.debian.org/?p=users/odyx-guest/mokomaze.git (branch debian-squeeze)

I built the package and pushed it to alioth:

http://alioth.debian.org/~odyx-guest/debian/unstable/mokomaze_0.5.5+git8+dfsg0-0.1.dsc

Now if one DD could review and upload this package for me, it'd be great. After
the upload, I'll send a mail to debian-release + the RM bug (#605205) to ask the
Release Team to choose between an unblock and a removal.

Cheers,

OdyX

That is very strange. I can't see any reason why you (or anyone) should
be disallowed from following up to that mail. (I'm CCing the bug again
and not trimming the quotes for that reason).

I think the issue that you (and the original submitter) are having is
the same as #603632. I applied a fix to the kernel for that issue
yesterday. For this reason I'm merging this but with that one with this
email.

WRT Memory used once by a domU won't bee freed after shutdown or
destroy of those domUs -- if domain 0 is ballooned down in order to
start a guest then domain 0 is not automatically ballooned back up when
the domain in shut down. The memory is freed to the hypervisor just not
reallocated to domain 0 and you should see it in the xm physinfo
output.

You should be able to manually balloon domain 0 back up again or else
the memory will be used for the next guest you start.

This is the defined behaviour of xend (I hesitate to say expected
behaviour since it's not all that obvious).

Ian.

  - so I try to let you know how to work around that bug this way. If
you decide not to take this mail into account I won't bother you any

I have had this problem for a long time, but it recently got fixed

if they can still reproduce the bug with an up-to-date installation?

It's hard to tell without full logs but since this is a Dell 410 there
is a possibility that this is the same bug as #603632.

Please test with kernel 2.6.32-29 when it is uploaded (which should be
later this week).

If this does not help then please provide a full log of the boot.

This is odd. It's working fine on my system, so I wonder what's
  different?

It's clearly failing when trying to create the dummy dependency
package. What is the content of /tmp/resolver-nGygHK ?

/tmp/resolver-* is created on my system, but 'dpkg-deb', '--build' is run
inside chroot session. So I guess I have to bind mount /tmp since 0.60.6 or
 is
 this unintentional?

Totally unintentional. I'll fix it to use a path inside the chroot,
and this should be fixed. I do bind mount /tmp on my system; I'll stop
doing that in the future.

When I bind-mounted /tmp, it went a bit further but now it failed with:

 dpkg-deb: building package `sbuild-build-depends-core-dummy' in
 `/tmp/resolver-D4hCcH/apt_archive/sbuild-build-depends-core-dummy.deb'.

I guess now it wants a key. I spotted `sbuild-update --keygen` in the
changelog and used it. Now it went much further but failed to pick up
 required
build-deps from experimental (attached). Please note that sbuild 0.60.5 was
fine with this phonon-backend-vlc dsc (get it from incoming).

The key should have been autogenerated if you didn't run sbuild-update
--keygen. I'll take a look into that as well.

This means that my setup might need even more changes now. Well, sigh. It
 begs
the question why it has to be so complicated?

The main reason is so that apt-get and aptitude can install the
dependency package directly from an archive. The existing practice of
breaking the system by forcing installation of the package and then
getting the package manager to fix up the breakage wasn't that nice.
This is cleaner and more robust.

Your comment about the entropy is valid. However, this only needs doing
once ever, and you can then use the same key for all builds. You can
even generate it on another machine if you wish.

Roger

Ok, the latter is because you removed a key option (that I added some time
ago) from aptitude command line in 80f811184d7c7b06a6a5ec8d646b1eac015dffa2.
 That's:

 :UNINST,

I removed this because it no longer seemed necessary when installing
the package directly from a local archive. It shouldn't be a
candidate for removal if we explicitly asked for its installation?

I guess this is because the LTSP code expect the ISO to be mounted as

Setting severity to important, as this only affect thin-client-server

Bug#606314: debian-edu-install: Automatick partitioning fail when booting ISO as USB stick

2010-12-08 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

Package: debian-edu-install
Version: 1.519
Severity: important

I just tested installing the latest squeeze-test netinst image using a
USB stick (possible thanks to the new isohybrid support), and the
installation ran into a problem with partitioning.

The automatic partitioning do not work, and a question about partiting
profile to use and hard drive to use is asked by partman.

Setting severity to important, as it is possible to work around this
by selecting the correct answers asked during installation, but
suspect it should be seen as release critical for Debian Edu/Squeeze.

Happy hacking,

Bug#606182: duplicity: Fails to restore on initial run with GPGError

You're right : the duplicity-full.20101006T231429Z.manifest.gpg

eek.

I guess that's the cause, indeed, but that should propabably make
duplicity overcome, since, in that case, that's not the latest full
backup that needs to be restored (hopefully).

actually duplicity should not make such a mess in the first place...

quick question: this looks like an external harddisk, right? are you
certain that you never-ever unplugged that disk before the system buffers
were written out? (also, is write caching enabled for that disk?)

that's the simplest explanation i can think of that would explain
'some blank files that shouldn't be blank, without anybody noticing'.

Should I file a bug upstream, then ?

to be honest, i'm not sure whether it makes sense to add further complexity
to duplicity to deal with this very screwed up situation: an unreadable
manifest might be recovered from the actual backup, sure, but as you
said some of the actual volumes were also gone...

as a workaround for now i'd move the damaged manifest and volumes to
a different directory and then retry the restore.

regards
az

This might be for dpkg-dev/dpkg-source which guesses the host system by

Well, dpkg-dev recommends gcc, but pbuilder does not even depend on
dpkg-dev. It recommends devscripts, which then depends on dpkg-dev. But
if using --use-pdebuild-internal then the existence of these packages is
IMO not required. I can't see a reason for this dependency and the
changelog doesn't tell, why it had been re-added. IMO it is safe to
downgrade this dependency to a recommendation (like dpkg-dev does) or
drop it completely for pbuilder.

However, the terminfo for rxvt-256color is provided by the ncurses-term

Starting with version 2.9-8, unified IPv4/IPv6 lookup have been enabled
in the glibc's resolver. This is faster, fixes numerous of bugs, but is
problematic on some broken DNS servers and/or wrongly configured
  firewalls.

If such a DNS server is detected, the resolver switches (permanently
for that process) to a mode where the second request is sent only when
the first answer has been received. This means the first request will
be timeout, but subsequent requests should be fast again. This
behaviour can be enabled permanently by adding 'options single-request'
  to /etc/resolv.conf.

Ok, the latter is because you removed a key option (that I added some time
ago) from aptitude command line in
  80f811184d7c7b06a6a5ec8d646b1eac015dffa2.
  That's:

  '-o', Aptitude::ProblemResolver::Hints::KeepDummy=reject $dummy_pkg_name
  :UNINST,

I removed this because it no longer seemed necessary when installing
the package directly from a local archive. It shouldn't be a
candidate for removal if we explicitly asked for its installation?

The patch I attached in my other mail should solve all the other
issues.

- dummy packages are created correctly
- local archive created correctly
- archive signing key created correctly
- archive signed correctly
- dummy packages install from archive correctly

I'll add back the above aptitude option if it's still required, but if
you could test the attached patch and let me know if there are any
remaining problems, that would be great. If you still find this option
is required for correct functioning, I'll add it back.

Regards,
Roger

I dont think so, IMO we can release with this bug. We shouldn't, yes, but I
wouldn't hold off the release for it. (Especially as we can also fix this in
later point releases.)

Bug#606317: apache2: upgrade to sysvinit causes apache virtualhosts to fail - started before bind9

2010-12-08 Thread Ian Jeffray
Package: apache2.2-common
Version: 2.2.16-4
Severity: normal

Can't believe nobody else has hit this before, but can't see it in the bug
tracker.
The new dependency-based init scheme added in debian testing has caused apache2
to be started
before bind9. This means that it can't resolve hostnames and just fails with
errors like: No address associated with hostname: Could not resolve host name
www -- ignoring!

This apache configuration has been perfectly fine until the upgrade to
dependency based
initialisation.

  model = toshiba_s3000

 Note jp106 string in gconftool-2.

 Indeed it looks suspicious.

I do not know where it comes from (do I still have an old config file
lying around?) and whether it is harmless.

Well, in the gconf case, the config file is the gconf database, more
precisely ~/.gconf/desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard. You can use the
 gconftool-2 command to change it.

I used the gconf-editor to erase jp106 substring from layouts,
and this has cured the popup error messages.
This also disabled Russian keyboard, though.
gconftool-2 showed
layouts = [jp], as expected.

Then I added the keyboard I need via Gnome interface, and got it working.
gconftool-2 shows
layouts = [jp, ru  phonetic]
as it was needed.

I suppose this is resolved is some way, at least for me.
(probably the squeeze installer/updater needs to be more aggressive in cleaning
up unknown options...)

Thank you all for your time,
Dmitrii.

PS. I wish the experience of fixing this did not resemble editing
Windows registry that much :-)

an error like:

S40term-kfreebsd: line 3:  [: command not found

I have attached a patch against S40term-kfreebsd to fix that.

Thanks for your work on the d-i and towards releasing Squeeze.

Emacs crashes are annoying, and figuring out the issue that caused it

within a debugger or using a coredump much less useful than they could
 be,

I'd really appreciate an emacs23-dbg package containing those symbols,
saving me from going through the trouble of compiling all of emacs
myself only to be able to debug its crashes.

Bug#606275: atheist: OutContains is not implemented

thanks.

Hi Serfeim,

thanks a lot for your bug report.

I am going to ask to upstream about this but I think OutContains condition
has never been implemented. Instead of this, you can use FileContains
condition. In fact, FileContains condition has the task output as default
filename value.

I think this bug has a trivial solution. So, I change it to minor severity.

Shortly, I will resolve this issue with upstream.

Cheers,
 Cleto.

I’m afraid I cannot reproduce that with my epiphany installation.

I tried www.kame.net and the turtle is dancing. I tried my own website

Ok, I guess I'm bitten by the fix applied for #468801. My IPv6 addresses
are indeed 6to4 and so IPv4 is preferred. That quite sucks, but it's not
 really libsoup fault.

I'm closing the bug for now and will try to tune my gai.conf to fix
 that, sorry for bothering.

Fwiw, adding:

scopev4 :::192.168.0.0/112  5

to /etc/gai.conf fixes the problem.

Bug#600374: [pkg-fso-maint] Bug#600374: #600374: NMU for Mokomaze ?

Hi,

Sorry for the long delay, I waited for Joachim (nomeata) to
eventually answer you. The package was previously maintained
by him, but he is no longer active in pkg-fso.

* Repack the orig tarball to remove non-free files (Closes: #600374)

+ [920fb49] Build all the images from a set of SVG files.
  - Add a librsvg2-bin B-D to build the png images from their svg source.
  - Add automake B-Ds and an autoreconf call before the build.
  - Thanks go to Paul Wise for the patches.

Changelog looks fine to me. go on :)

I pushed the git repository I used to prepare the orig tarball there:

 http://git.debian.org/?p=users/odyx-guest/mokomaze-orig.git (branch dfsg-free)

and my update of the packaging git repository there:

 http://git.debian.org/?p=users/odyx-guest/mokomaze.git (branch debian-squeeze)

I built the package and pushed it to alioth:

 http://alioth.debian.org/~odyx-guest/debian/unstable/mokomaze_0.5.5+git8+dfsg0-0.1.dsc

Do you want to become a member of pkg-fso and push the git stuff
into [0]?

Now if one DD could review and upload this package for me, it'd be great.
 After
the upload, I'll send a mail to debian-release + the RM bug (#605205) to ask
 the
Release Team to choose between an unblock and a removal.

I'm currently busy, but I can check it this evening.

Justification: breaks unrelated software

Before, when i started aplication (Twinkle, skype, knotes) it appeared in right
end of
upper panel (left to the clocks/calendar). Now it does not. But process only
appears in list
of processes as sleeping.
Major problem is, that i cant get to my old notes in knotes program. Old
notes are access
right end of upper panel.
(this is reason, why i think that this bug is critical, i hope my older
important notes are
deleted due of this bug).

Bug#606304: [DebianGIS-dev] Bug#606304: Bug#606304: qgis crashes when I resize the window

Sorry, it isn't fixed (obviously the ticket is still open and I didn't use past

It's not really clear what in QGIS causes it and it crashes rather deep in Qt
1.6 - in new animation stuff, we don't actually use ourselves. So it might be
even a Qt bug.

Bug#606074: #606074: also applies to libdb5.0-sql-dev and libdb5.1-sql-dev

2010-12-08 Thread Ralf Treinen
Hello,

bug #606074 also applies to libdb5.0-sql-dev and libdb5.1-sql-dev :

dpkg: error processing
/var/cache/apt/archives/libdb5.1-sql-dev_5.1.19-2_amd64.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/include/dbsql.h', which is also in package
libdb5.0-sql-dev 5.0.26-3
configured to not write apport reports
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/libdb5.1-sql-dev_5.1.19-2_amd64.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages
(according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be
slightly out of sync):

  /usr/include/dbsql.h
  /usr/lib/libdb_sql-5.so
  /usr/lib/libdb_sql.a
  /usr/lib/libdb_sql.so

-Ralf.

Bug#606260: Amendment to bug report

What exactly did you try to do in mailing him.

FYI, the current maintainer is mentioned in
 http://packages.qa.debian.org/m/mantis.html

In Debian, I can see no general reason to contact a maintainer directly. In
case of problems, the BTS is where to go.

I was just following the instructions I was given following a package
update:

Replacing config file /etc/mantis/config_db.php with new version
*** WARNING: ucf was run from a maintainer script that uses debconf,
but
the script did not pass --debconf-ok to ucf. The maintainer
script should be fixed to not stop debconf before
calling ucf,
and pass it this parameter. For now, ucf will revert to
using
old-style, non-debconf prompting. Ugh!

Please inform the package maintainer about this problem.

If the instructions had asked me to file a bug report, I would have
filed a bug report. Since they asked me to inform the maintainer,
that's what I did.

Hope this helps.
