 Hi,

 1.9.2.290 was released.
However, CVE-2011-0188 is not corrected in this version.
And, the patch is necessary so that there is a problem in the check on
 the library of ext/tk.

I attaches patches which revise these problems.
Please update to this version with attached patches?

Hi,

We are considering switching directly to 1.9.3 as it's going to be
released very soon now. A package was uploaded to experimental. Maybe
you are interested in checking if it works for you.

Bug#601590: [debhelper] debhelper: cmake buildsystem does not clean builddir if cancelled during configure

 Hello all,

I'm facing the same issue for a personal project.
In the correct run, debhelper detect the clean phase as a makefile
build. However in our case the Makefile did not exist. The logic to
detect the cmake build is only enabled during the configure phase. So
debhelper fails to detect the build system.

I attach a small patch to change the behavior. I do a quick test and
 seem to be fine.
1/ It enable the detection of the cmake build system during the clean
 phase.
2/ I copy past the clean function from makefile.pm to cmake.pm.

It makes no sense to call `make clean` if Makefile does not exist. Probably
you didn't pass source or build directory properly.

Bug#634944: kolabd: In Kolab Server Settings can't set any individual Services: LDAP Error: failed to modify kolab configuration object: No such object

2011-07-21 Thread Pal Csanyi
Package: kolabd
Version: 2.2.4-20100624-4
Severity: grave
Tags: d-i upstream
Justification: renders package unusable

I have installed kolabd on my Debian GNU/Linux Squeeze on a headless hardware
called Bubba http://www.excito.com/ and I can use only the kernel from excito:
Linux bubba 2.6.32.13 #1 Tue May 25 12:01:56 CEST 2010 ppc GNU/Linux

I tried to install kolabd but postfix conflicts with exim4 and I came into
difficulties because I have installed previously drupal6 which depends on exim4.

So after some difficulties with aptitude and dpkg I have installed kolabd using:
aptitude install kolabd kolab-webmin

After that I followed the instructions from here:
/usr/share/doc/kolabd/README.Debian.gz
to bootstrap kolab.

After I finish the installation and bootstrapping of Kolab and edited the
file: /etc/kolab/session_vars.php regarding to informations in the file:
/etc/kolab/kolab.conf so I get rid of the error:
Could not bind to LDAP server: Invalid credentials
following the instructions here:
http://wiki.kolab.org/Debian_-_Administrators_-_Troubleshooting

As you can see I can't to follow prior the installation of Kolab the
instructions
from here: /usr/share/doc/kolabd/README.Debian.gz because this document can find
only after the installation of kolabd.

I can now to login now into web interface - I have installed kolab-webadmin too
-
but when in Settings tab want to setup SMTP smarthost/relayhost or any other
services I get the error:
LDAP Error: failed to modify kolab configuration object: No such object

Is this a bug?

I can perfectly reproduce it. Which combination of grsecurity and

Yes it does.

Bug#634946: plasma-widget-lancelot: list of users for switch user not updated

2011-07-21 Thread Shai Berger
Package: plasma-widget-lancelot
Version: 4:4.6.5-1
Severity: normal

I use Lancelot as application launcher, in a system
where there are multiple users time-sharing the
same terminal. I have seen the following:

The list of users in the switch user menu is set
the first time this menu is opened. After that, if
users log in or out, the list does not show them.

What I expect: The list of users shown should always
reflect the actual sessions at the time it is opened.

I've found no similar bug reported upstream, so this
may or may not be Debian-specific.

Thanks for your good work,
   Shai.

It's not the length that is problematic but the presence of the =
character. If I replace it with another character, it doesn't give
the error (but obviously doesn't find the message with the above
message-id). That's because mairix interprets it as a substring
search even if there's non-numeric data after the equal sign.

Maybe there should be a way to escape those special characters too, I
don't know.

Given how popular gmail is, it's a major pain for me because I
rely on mairix to find out where a given message-id is in my
local mail spool is. I put those messages id in my TODO list
to remembers mails that I need to get back to.

I have attached a quick patch that works for me at least.

Cheers,

Package: nagios-images
Version: 0.7

*** Please type your report below this line ***

The file formats supporting transparency for the icons in the
symbols/3d_cloud series do not feature correct transparency:
- The GIF file has no transparency at all
- The PNG has its transparency reversed - the outside of the cloud
is white, while the inside is transparent
- The same problem as with the PNG applies to the GD2 file
- The JPEG works as expected, it features no transparency

Attached is a TAR archive containing fixed versions of those three
files.

Thanks very much for all the nice graphics, by the way.

Bug#586327: what does postgrey not starting have to do with iproute?

2011-07-21 Thread Andreas Henriksson
Hello!

I completely fail to see why http://bugs.debian.org/586327 has ANYTHING
to do with iproute What do you want me to investigate?

If your program fails to bind to a port, that's between your program
and the kernel. no network administration tool is involved there.

The bug reporter even mentioning using netstat (part of net-tools!)
for troubleshooting rather then using iproute commands.

Please also notify the package maintainers when you reassign a bug
to someone else otherwise it might go unnoticed for a long time

Unless you can inform me on what you want me to investigate, I'll
be reassigning this back to postgrey (and since it's been sitting
tagged with unrep, moreinfo for a long time I suggest you just
close it after that.)

Bug#316521: dpkg: stale directories when packages install conffiles to subsubdirectories of /etc

2011-07-21 Thread Raphael Hertzog
Hi Ondrej,

On Wed, 18 May 2011, Ondřej Surý wrote:
I'm just not sure what the correct solution is. Instead of purge_dir maybe
the right answer is manage-manual-conffile and/or
manage-manual-file. And it would drop the file on removal/purge and try
to remove the parent directories if they are no longer owned.

For now, the preinst/prerm/postinst would be a no-op but the postrm
would do the removal. Later when we can tell dpkg that the package
installed some manual files, the registration would happen in postinst
and in the other scripts the command would become a no-op since
dpkg itself would do the removal.

Sounds good. The only problem I see is that it could be files (as in
/var/log/package), so maybe a pattern is needed?

 Something like:
 dpkg-maintscript-helper manage-manual-files /var/log/package/*.log*

Or maybe I am overcomplicating stuff and we already know how to handle
logfiles and this is really for low-number of files.

Anyway I think that my patch would work just like that, just rename
the purge_dir to what you like :)

Thinking a bit more about it, I believe it's more reasonable to go
with a purge_related_files command. It would indeed accept several
files and/or directories.

Patterns should be expanded by the shell so that the function itself
doesn't have to deal with patterns.

You patch is not really ready for this, I'm commenting below.

On Thu, 12 May 2011, Ondřej Surý wrote:
I have implemented the command. It doesn't go with corresponding
manpage section and probably needs some polishing, but it works in my
 case...

Yeah, it would be nice if you could finish the work including the required
documentation. See my other comments below:

In fact, I needed to add
 dpkg-maintscript-helper purge_dir $phpini
only to php5-cli.postrm to cleanup the cruft.

All dpkg-maintscript-helper commands must support being called in all
maintainer scripts and must ensure they are a no-op in maintainer scripts
where nothing should be done.

This is currently not the case for your new command.

For instance dh_installdeb makes use of this characteristic to generate
the same snippet in all maintainer scripts based on what the packager
provided in debian/package.maintscript.

 +purge_dir() {

Oviously renamed to purge_related_files.

 + local DIRECTORY=$1
 + local PACKAGE=$2
 + if [ ${PACKAGE} = -- -o -z ${PACKAGE} ]; then
 + PACKAGE=${DPKG_MAINTSCRIPT_PACKAGE}
 + fi

So we need to accept multiple parameters here. It probably means that we
should get rid of the PACKAGE parameter and just hope that
DPKG_MAINTSCRIPT_PACKAGE is set.

And the algorithm should be something like this:
for f in $files; do
if [ -L $f ] || [ ! -d $f ]; then
rm $f
# add $(dirname $f) to a list of directories
else
# add $f to a list of directories
fi
done

for d in $dirlist; do
purge_dir $dir # what your current function does
done

I'm not sure what's the best way to handle the list of directories
to correctly deal with path that includes spaces... possibly a temporary
file.

 + while [ $DIRECTORY != / ]; do
 +
 + local OWNED_BY=$(dpkg-query -S ${DIRECTORY} 2/dev/null |
 cut -f 1 -d :)
 +
 + if [ -z ${OWNED_BY} -o ${OWNED_BY} = ${PACKAGE} ]; then
 + [ -d ${DIRECTORY} ] \
 + rmdir --ignore-fail-on-non-empty ${DIRECTORY}
 +
+ # Directory was not removed
 + if [ -d ${DIRECTORY} ]; then
+ echo Unable to remove ${DIRECTORY}: directory
 not empty
 + return 1

We don't want the postrm to fail just because of this. Thus return 0.

 + else
 + DIRECTORY=$(dirname ${DIRECTORY})
 + purge_dir ${DIRECTORY} ${PACKAGE}
 + return $?

Thus it doesn't bring anything to forward the return value here.

 + fi
 + else
+ debug Preserving ${DIRECTORY}; still owned by
 ${#OWNED_BY} package(s)

Why ${#OWNED_BY} ? The string length is not equal to the number of
packages...

Cheers,

how do you know that it's not undefined behaviour exposed by the new compiler

Some more information is needed:

 - does it build using gcc-snapshot, gcc-4.5 or gcc-4.4?

An option is to have attachment button colors configurable (hidden option or

Since the first 3.2 beta, sylpheed shows buttons in the message pane when

current GTK theme. Only the font color seem to be respected, which may (and
does) in fact make the button completely unreadable in high-contrast and

Sylpheed should respect the current GTK theme colors for all the buttons.

I've modified it to use GTK+ theme colors at svn r2928.

Bug#634935: ioctl error in wpasupplicant on kfreebsd/wheezy

2011-07-21 Thread Robert Millan
2011/7/21 Zac Slade krakr...@gmail.com:
 I get the following error
  ioctl[SIOC80211, op=20, val=0, arg_len=7]: Invalid argument

Upon disconnecting I get a slightly different error
  ioctl[SIOC80211, op=26, val=0, arg_len=]: Operation not supported

I thought these were critical errors! Anyway, it might help to figure
out things like:

- Do they happen with kfreebsd-9? (available in experimental)
- Do they happen when you run wpa_supplicant in a FreeBSD chroot? If
not, do the ioctl failures show up in ktrace?
- Do they happen when you run Debian userland on an upstream FreeBSD
kernel? (this test is non-obvious, see FAQ for details on how to do
it)

Bug#634952: xfsprogs: xfs_quota commands are internationalized

2011-07-21 Thread Cajus Pollmeier

Package: xfsprogs
Version: 3.1.5
Severity: normal

If your system locale is non english and you use the xfs_quota tool, you
run into problems if you do not set LC_ALL=C in front of your command:

# xfs_quota -x -c report /home
Befehl »report« nicht gefunden

vs

# LC_ALL=C xfs_quota -x -c report /home
...

The command registration uses gettext for the command 'name', which
makes it work like this:

# xfs_quota -x -c Bericht /home
...

The manualpage does not give any hints to the fact that commands are
translated and I'd recommend to remove the _() around the registered
names to not confuse users.

Bug#631019: Time to starti HDF5 transitioning?

2011-07-21 Thread Francesco P. Lovergine
Hi RMs and d-g followers

I'm going to upload 1.8.7 just after current 1.8.4-patch1-3 will enter
testing, iff any RM had not something to say about that,
and no blocking bugs would come in the next few days about 1.8.4
to prevent testing transition. On the debiangis side another big
transition will be gdal 1.8.1, but I would complete the hdf5 transition
before that.

Cheers

  At gdb:gdb/bsd-kvm.c:33 I find:

  And at /usr/include/kvm.h:

#include nlist.h seems to trigger the error from libbsd-dev header

Someone more knowledgeable on BSD might know best where headers are broken,

 --
 Modestas Vainius mo...@debian.org

Hello,

Well in this corner-case situation the idea was to remove the buildir, not
to call `make clean`. Actually the current code never call `make clean`
because rmdir_builddir nukes the builddir that contains the makefile.
Previous patch will not change this behavior. In my opinion for cmake
rmdir_builddir is enough but I wanted to keep change as small as possible.

The current use case:
1/ run dh_auto_configure but interrupt before the end (error or manually
interrupt). It will create a builddir but without makefile. The builddir
will contains various files (binary and text).
...
2/ then do dh_auto_clean (rebuild of package for example). For the moment
the builddir is left untouched actually dh_auto_build will do nothing
because it call the default clean function (from memory, inside
BuildSystem.pm). Note, if dh_auto_configure finished sucessfully, the
buildir is properly remove during dh_auto_clean (this time clean comes from
makefile.pm).

Best regards,
Gregory

Bug#634956: ncurses-base: xterm should have hs, tsl and fsl (in other word: use status line for window title)

2011-07-21 Thread Tanguy Ortolo
Package: ncurses-base
Version: 5.9-1
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

Graphical terminal emulator have a useful specific feature that other do not
have: the window title. But here again, they use different control sequence to
access to it. I think this makes this feature a good candidate for terminfo,
but there exist no capability related to “window title”.

Fortunately, the graphical terminal emulator often miss another feature, the
status line, which has a function very close to the window title. In fact the
window title is perceived as replacing, or implementing a status line for
graphical terminal emulators. Thus, several terminal emulators declared the hs,
tsl and fls capabilities to control the status line: this is the case of
terminator, rxvt-unicode and st, for instance.

So, would it be possible to add hs, tsl, fsl and wsl to the xterm definition?
I think that would be:
hs,
tsl=\E]0;,
fsl=^G,
wsl=-1,

This is useful to write terminal-independant shell configuration that set the
window title. A common use is to add the working directory to the window title,
for instance.

Bug#634959: sound-juicer works on 32-bits; fails on 64-bits

2011-07-21 Thread Mark Summerfield
Package: sound-juicer
Version: 2.28.2

I have this package on two separate machines, one 64-bit with 64-bit
debian and the other 32-bit with 32-bit debian.

On the 32-bit machine the program works fine.

On the 64-bit machine the program has two faults:

(1) Minor fault: Every time the program is started it pops up an
untitled dialog asking if I want to Quit or Change Profile. So every
time I have to click Change Profile and then Close (since I never
want to change the profile).

(2) Major fault: The program gets stuck after a while and won't
rip from the CD anymore. It will work again if I change CDs but it
means that CDs with lots of tracks can't be ripped fully.

This is v. frustrating!

I'm using:

Debian 6.0.2 Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 GNOME 2.30.2
Debian 6.0.2 Linux 2.6.32-5-686 GNOME 2.30.2

I tried using the Gtk version of reportbug but it seemed to only allow
adding to an existing bug, not creating a new one.

xterm's title control sequence doesn't honor that parameter.

Therefore any use of that would have to be via an extension entry.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.
All the tests pass in the debug (-0O) build.

I've got gcc/g++ 4.4.6-6 installed and all the tests pass in debug and

This is a problem with the g++ 4.6 release (-03) optimization.

Are they? The terminfo manpage only indicates that tsl is to go to the
status line, first column. Then the status line may allow to use control
sequence; this is indicated by the capability eslok.

Then there is also the wsl capability that indicates the status line
width if it is different from the terminal width: for rxvt-unicode it is
set to -1, which I guess is to indicate that it has a free width.

Bug#634962: horde3: Problem with latest security fix for lenny - Required secret is invalid

2011-07-21 Thread Sebastian Wienforth
Package: horde3
Version: 3.2.2+debian0-2+lenny3
Severity: important

The latest security fix introduced a problem. For example: if you go to
Options - Global Options - Personal Information you get a notice in the
WebInterface saying: Required secret is invalid - potentially malicious
request. This only seems to be annoying at first (it is still possible to
create new identities/change them), but it is impossible now to delete an
identity.

There are possibly more problems in the Options pages - I have not done any
further testing yet.

For what it's worth, version 2.34 has been uploaded to sid since I
last wrote and has the patch applied. Maybe it can make testing
 easier.

Problem is, most of our production desktops are still Lenny, so I'm going to
need to make a custom package for our local repository anyway. My initial test
on my tiny tcl test script is promising - it looks like that is fixed. I now
need to pass the test package on to one of my scientific colleagues to see if
it also fixes the issue in his much more significant DNA sequencing application.

I can't tell you how happy we're all going to be if this really has fixed the
issue. It's been irritating the hell out of our end users ever since Etch came
out. I was on the point of switching everyone to Xfce instead...

I'll let you know how it's going later on.

They can co-exist without problems.

The limitation is that you cannot build against libconfig8 and

This is maybe going to change with the next releases of

Pulseaudio is broken. It is most broken on hurd.

For this one the bug report is correct. This needs to be

Bug#634963: dpkg-source: add options for printing the contents of source packages

2011-07-21 Thread Paul Wise
Package: dpkg-dev
Severity: wishlist
File: /usr/bin/dpkg-source

I would like to have some options for printing the contents of source
packages. My initial use-case is printing the list of files present in
the debian.tar.gz/diff.gz when building packages to be sponsored. My
current method for this doesn't include the files touched by patches in
the debian/patches/ directory, but I think a whole set of options would
be nice for completeness:

  * the contents of the debian/ directory
  * the files present in the diff.gz/debian.tar.gz
  * the files touched by the diff.gz or the patches in the v3
patches
  * the files in the upstream part of the package
  * the files in the debian and upstream parts of the package
  * the files the whole package that are in either debian or
upstream or touched by diff.gz or the patches in the v3 patches.

Bug#624582: bcfg2: Bcfg2 client ignores nonexistent paths

2011-07-21 Thread Holger Weiß
Even though the patch itself is trivial we need to think about how the
program changes when it has been applied, instead of just the simple
mechanical changes in the patch. The resulting change isn't a trivial
two line bugfix, applying the patch actually means enabling a new
feature that hasn't existed before (about 40 lines of previously
 disabled code).

In my mind this is more comparable to a new upstream version entirely,

Thanks for looking into this.

In my view, the crucial difference to a new upstream release is that
we're talking about a feature which is documented to work in the version
shipped with squeeze, so users might burn their time trying to track
down why it doesn't. So, personally, I'd at least add a note to the
README.Debian file stating that this feature is broken in squeeze.

This is a theme for Pidgin Guifications notifications designed to match
Gnome notifications in basic Gnome desktops like Ferdora, Mandriva and
Debian- it was designed and tested on Debian Lenny.

Extract or move Gnome-basic into:
/usr/share/pixmaps/pidgin/guifications/themes

P.S. I think this theme can be default in Debian =)

[ severity minor as armhf isn't a release architecture yet

Building dpkg, I'm seeing test suite failures. I'm guessing at
toolchain issues, but I'm investigating further.

Not a toolchain (nor armhf) issue at all AFAICS. Looking at the
failing test cases, they have exceptions for running under fakeroot.

Building using fakeroot on armhf works fine, building as root on amd64
fails in the same wasy as initially reported. Therefore I'm raising
the severity to important.

Cheers,

Bug#634956: ncurses-base: xterm should have hs, tsl and fsl (in other word: use status line for window title)

Are they? The terminfo manpage only indicates that tsl is to go to the
status line, first column. Then the status line may allow to use control
sequence; this is indicated by the capability eslok.

The #1 means that its a parameter, and (tersely) that it's the column.
Not ambiguous.

Then there is also the wsl capability that indicates the status line
width if it is different from the terminal width: for rxvt-unicode it is
set to -1, which I guess is to indicate that it has a free width.

If rxvt-unicode had documentation, we might discuss it...

Further cleanup of the NVIDIA packages.
nvidia-glx-legacy-71xx-ia32 is now an empty transitional package.
The i386 compatibility package libgl1-nvidia-legacy-71xx-glx-ia32 should be
priority extra, following the rest of the archive's classification of

multiarch.)

Why isn't that going to happen?

As you said before, input-utils is a niche package.

That's the one proper solution in this case.

Especially considering that Backports are now more or less an official
part of Debian, there are many scenarios where a stable update does not
 solve the problem.

And keep in mind that if the fix for input-utils wasn't that trivial,
a stable update would not even be an option.

But apparently it was, so it is.

Dear ftp-master,

please remove the outdated nvidia-kernel-common [all] package from
unstable. This is now built by a different source package:
nvidia-support and restricted to Arch: amd64 i386.

If I understood the process correctly, the old source package will
vanish automatically if there are no more binary packages in the archive
that were built from it. Otherwise the source package needs to be
removed, too.

Bug#634970: parrot: Parrot should declare dependency on perlapi virtual package

2011-07-21 Thread Dominique Dumont
Package: parrot
Version: 3.3.0-1
Severity: important

Hello

Currently, parrot on i386 trigger FTBS (#634105) for rakudo.

Parrot uses Storable to generate some interface which is used during
rakudo's build.

Parrot for i386 was compiled with perl5.10, hence Storable's data is
compatible only with perl5.10.

Now that perl 5.12 is standard on sid, rakudo is built with perl 5.12
and thus fails to uses parrot's files.

For more details, see the following thread:

http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-rakudo-devel/2011-May/16.html

The FTBS on rakudo can be solved by a binNMU on parrot/i386.

But the next Perl transition will trigger the same problem unless
parrot declares a dependency on perl api.

All the best

I was hit by this too since it makes it impossible to install build
dependencies of monav:

libtiff4-dev : Depends: libjpeg-dev
libmapnik-dev : Depends: libjpeg62-dev

and libjpeg-dev is provided by libjpeg8-dev which

Replaces: libjpeg62-dev

Just replacing libjpeg62 with libjpeg in debian/control works for
me(tm). Debdiff is attached.

Bug#634971: RM: nvidia-common -- ROM; renamed to nvidia-installer-cleanup, built from nvidia-support source package

2011-07-21 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

Dear ftp-masters,

the nvidia-common binary package has been renamed to
nvidia-installer-cleanup and is now build from the nvidia-support source
package which bundles several supporting packages.
Therefore it can be removed from unstable.

Thanks

Bug#634972: network-manager: inconvenient for manual config editing

2011-07-21 Thread Tzafrir Cohen
Package: network-manager
Version: 0.8.4.0-2
Severity: wishlist

I configured a wireless connection on my system with NetworkManager. It
it very unintuitive, to say the least.

NetworkManager provides /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ . A
properly-written config file dropped in the should do the trick.

Sadly there is no such example config file in the the docus directory of
the package. Below is a slightly-obfuscated version of the file that I
used:

[connection]
type=802-11-wireless
id=TheNetwork
# Note: you MUST unrem this but with a new UUID of your own
#uuid=09c4b373-d842-0198-5d8f-44894de25d0ea0

[802-11-wireless]
ssid=TheNameOfTheNetwork
security=802-11-wireless-security

[802-11-wireless-security]
key-mgmt=wpa-psk
psk=SECRET

This was still not good enough. It took me a while (and code browsing) to
figure out that the interface is considered to be unavailable because
the global wireless option was disabled, in

  /var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state

That configuration file is not mentioned anywhere in NetworkManager(8).
Likewise there is no firendly warning in the logs hey, we found a
wireless interface but we won't use it, as wireless support is disabled.

Another minor issue is the syntax of nmcli. It seems that nmcli will find
the longest possible method to define a command. To start the network
interface:

  nmcli con up id TheNetwork
  nmcli con down id TheNetwork

I just wish there would be a command-line interface that would do the
Right Thing[tm] with a shorter command-line.

It is not detected. If I kill xfce4-power-manager, and optionally launch

Ok, it's not detected either in upower for me so that's normal.

Hi Michal, Sébastien,

Sébastien are you still planning to take over python-mpd?

I'm also interested in this package as my package mpd-sima depends on it.
I noticed a new project @ alioth focused on MPD and related application:

This is probably what Michal was talking about. It would be nice to move
python-mpd on that project as well.

Bug#634973: ftp.debian.org: reportbug templates for reporting override changes?

Hi,

what do you think about adding reportbug templates (or script or
whatever is the correct term) for changing overrides to the
ftp.debian.org pseudopackage? Something like it is available for the
different package removal reasons.
The subject line could therefore be generated automatically from the
package/section/priority list and reportbug could stop warning about the
long subject line.

Somewhere an information must be stored that is not correct.
But it is not in the usual network configuration.

Bug#634976: bluez: Please install ALSA plugin in the multiarch directory

2011-07-21 Thread Jordi Mallach
Package: bluez-alsa
Version: 4.94-2
Severity: important

Hi,

alsa-lib will imminently switch to Multiarch, and plugins will move from
/usr/lib/alsa-lib to /usr/lib/triplet/alsa-lib, which means bluez-alsa
will be unusable as soon as this happens.

The triplet dir for each arch can be obtained with:

`dpkg-architecture -qDEB_HOST_MULTIARCH`, see
http://wiki.debian.org/Multiarch/Implementation for all the details.

You should modify bluez to install the plugin into the multiarch
directory, and maybe consider the complete move to multiarch of bluez at
the same time.

A NMU will follow a few days after the upload of alsa-lib to ensure the
new alsa-lib can transition to testing soon enough so it does not disrupt
current transitions.

Bug#634973: ftp.debian.org: reportbug templates for reporting override changes?

It has been already implemented (#568980), perhaps you faced #628769.

Bug#634696: apt: http transport dies with signal 10

Hello all,

Given that apt 0.8.15 worked (as confirmed by Kurt Roeckx) and
0.8.15.2 doesn't only on sparc{,64} i suspect a compiler issue, too.

Further more, the diff between these two versions is pretty small and
doesn't include changes to the http acquire method.

So, for a start, could someone with access to a sparc-box recompile
0.8.15 with gcc-4.6 to verify that it is indeed compiler related?
(by observing that this rebuild would be broken, too)

(Adding d-sparc@d.l.o so they can have a look at that, too)

Best regards

David Kalnischkies

Bug#634956: ncurses-base: xterm should have hs, tsl and fsl (in other word: use status line for window title)

2011-07-21 Thread Tanguy Ortolo
Tanguy Ortolo, 2011-07-21 13:04 UTC+0200:
Oh, right, I missed it, sorry. Okay, that was my suggestion but are now
this topic better than I do, so I shall let you decide what to do with
 this report now.

Sorry, one more reflexion about that. There may exist other solutions,
but if the decision is between adding or not hs, tsl and fsl to the
xterm definition, I think this is the question that should be
considered: will the situation be better or worse than it is currently?

For what I see, the current situation is:
* many shell configurations and programs use hardcoded escape sequences
for xterm only, and do not use other terminal's window title features
  because they do not know about it;
* several other graphical terminal emulators expose tsl and fsl for
  window title, simply ignoring the column argument;
* as far as I know, there exist no program that use the status line
column selection, but I may be wrong: did you get many bug reports
about rxvt-unicode's tsl that does not honor the position argument?

Introducing tsl and fsl would:
* allow to write portable shell configurations and programs;
* break all the programs that rely on the status line column
  selection.

If the number of programs that rely on the status line column selection
is actually null, then I think this would only be a benefit.
