Bug#858956: firefox-esr: Geolocation seems to be broken

2017-03-28 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: firefox-esr
Version: 52.0.1esr-1
Severity: important
Tags: upstream

When using a website that asks for geolocation, after allowing the geolocation
request, I get the following error in the browser console:

this.listener[listenerFunc] is undefined

This error comes from this section in NetworkGeolocationProvider.js:

notifyListener: function(listenerFunc, args) {
args = args || [];
try {
  this.listener[listenerFunc].apply(this.listener, args);
} catch(e) {
  Cu.reportError(e);
}
  }

This seems to break geolocation. I tried using safe mode, but the same problem
happens.

Bug#847683: hplip-gui: hp system tray service autostart created on installation fails to load hp tray on startup

2016-12-10 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: hplip-gui
Version: 3.16.11+repack0-1
Severity: important

I am using xfce. When I install hplip-gui, an entry named "HP System Tray
Service" is added to the Xfce application startup settings, which I cannot
delete or edit. For some reason, when this entry is enabled, no tray icon
appears on startup. However, if I create a startup entry with the "hp-systray
-x" command manually and enable it, the hp system tray does appear on startup.

Bug#823176: qpdfview does not use Gtk+ style by default

2016-05-01 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: qpdfview
Version: 0.4.14-1
Severity: normal

I am currently using a Xfce desktop, and while other Qt applications detect I
am running Xfce and use the Gtk+ style as appropiate, qpdfview does not.
Running qpdfview with -style=gtk works fine, but the application should use the
gtk style without that option under Xfce.

orphan this package so someone else can maintain it. And while we're at it,
split symbola into its own package.

Ever since I installed Libreoffice 4.4, Xorg hangs randomly when I run
Libreoffice, sometimes as soon as the Libreoffice window appears, and I have no
option but to restart the system as the mouse moves but everything else
freezes. I have searched on Google for a similar issue and it seems it might be

Bug#744223: xfwm4: Windows with GTK+ client side decorations have titlebars drawn on top of them

2014-04-11 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: xfwm4
Version: 4.11.1-2
Severity: important

Some GTK+ apps have windows with client side decorations where the header
toolbar also acts as a title bar. Xfwm draws a titlebar on top of them, which
shouldn't happen.

Bug#710424: xfce4: Opacity when window is moved/resized settings don't get saved when PC turns off

2014-03-24 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: xfce4
Version: 4.10.1
Followup-For: Bug #710424

Turns out it wasn't the CLAMP macro, the culprit was the themerc file of the
xfwm theme I was using (Zukitwo)... for some reason the theme could override
the move_opacity and resize_opacity settings (along with other settings) when
xfwm was loading. I really don't like themes overriding my own settings without
telling.

I've checked and it seems Xfwm does read the opacity settings from Xfconf
correctly but then they get changed to 100 right after reading those settings.
It looks like the culprit is the CLAMP macro being used, but this macro doesn't
seem to be from Xfwm.

Bug#740128: nouveau: libgl looks for nouveau_dri.so on incorrect path with multiarch

2014-02-25 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: libgl1-mesa-dri
Version: 9.2.2-1
Severity: important
File: nouveau

When using nouveau I didn't have 3d acceleration, running glxinfo gave the
following error:

name of display: :0.0
libGL: OpenDriver: trying /usr/lib/dri/tls/nouveau_dri.so
libGL: OpenDriver: trying /usr/lib/dri/nouveau_dri.so
libGL error: dlopen /usr/lib/dri/nouveau_dri.so failed
(/usr/lib/dri/nouveau_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory)
libGL error: unable to load driver: nouveau_dri.so
libGL error: driver pointer missing
libGL: OpenDriver: trying /usr/lib/dri/tls/swrast_dri.so
libGL: OpenDriver: trying /usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so
libGL error: dlopen /usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so failed
(/usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory)
libGL error: unable to load driver: swrast_dri.so
libGL error: reverting to indirect rendering
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: No (If you want to find out why, try setting
LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose)

Because of multiarch nouveau_dri.so is currently in /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/dri
and /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri but libgl isn't looking for them. I had to
change the LIBGL_DRIVERS_PATH variable to get 3d accel to work.

It looks like it occurs when the language is set to Spanish, a friend of mine

Version: 4.10.1
Followup-For: Bug #710424

It turns out that if I change the window shadow settings on Window Manager
Tweaks the windows are no longer semi-transparent while being moved or resized,
even if I don't log out or turn off the system. Also, the shadow settings don't
seem to work: all windows have shadows, regardless of the settings. If I look
at Xfconf the settings are still there, so it seems like xfwm can't seem to
obey some of the compositor settings on Window Manager Tweaks

When I open liferea the upper right panel with the headlines is always at

be nice if liferea would remember the size of the panel like in the GTK2

It turns out it's the nvidia drivers, with nouveau everything works. There's an

conflicts with xorg stuff. Thanks!

2013-09-30 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: xfce4
Version: 4.10.1

I'm afraid I can't wait much, it turns out openbox and icewm don't work, twm
works though. A lot of xfce and gnome apps don't work. When run from terminal
nothing happens, even if the process appears in the task manager. Thunar works,
but mousepad, xfce4-terminal and most panel plugins don't (but the panel itself
works). Baobab and synaptic don't work. Haven't tried most apps but it seems
there is an issue with some library or with xorg itself. Sorry for the
inconvenience, but I have no clue what is causing the issue. I'm attaching the
log with the stuff I updated that caused this issue.

Bug#724962: xfce: xfwm, xfdesktop, xfsettingsd and most xfce apps don't work

2013-09-29 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: xfce4
Version: 4.10.1
Severity: critical
File: xfce
Justification: breaks the whole system

I updated xfce4 along with several other packages yesterday, and after
rebooting the pc hanged while trying to load gdm. I uninstalled gdm and
installed slim instead and it worked, but xfwm4, xfsettingsd, xfdesktop and
most xfce apps don't work (xfce panel and the task manager work, everything
else doesn't). The pc is very slow and it turns out it's because there are 10
xfwm4, xfsettingsd and xfdesktop processes running, despite none of these
programs running. I'm running debian sid by the way.

Bug#710424: xfce4: Opacity when window is moved/resized settings don't get saved when PC turns off

2013-05-30 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: xfce4
Version: 4.10.1
Severity: normal

After I boot up my PC, when I move or resize a window, it has 100% opacity,
even when the corresponding settings at Window Manager Tweaks are at less than
100% opacity. If I change the settings in Window Manager Tweaks, the windows
get transparent while they are moved or resized, but only until the PC turns
off. When I turn the PC back on the windows have 100% opacity again while being
moved/resized. This happened ever since I updated to 4.10. The "Saving session
automatically" setting is turned on.

It seems the square only appears when I open JDownloader when compositing is

turn off compositing. The issue seems to be caused by JDownloader's splash
screen. I haven't tried with nouveau though.

have no idea how to install it. Maybe it has something to do with this bug. I
still couldn't get sandbox to work.

Also, sometimes sandbox this error instead of "Invalid argument":
Could not set exec context to
unconfined_u:unconfined_r:sandbox_x_t:s0:c599,c830.
Failed to remove directory /tmp/.sandbox-root-rox12v: No such file or directory

This happened when I ran "sandbox -X evince" as root. When I run it as a normal
user it shows the "Invalid argument" error.

Bug#672437: New upstream release available (0.9.7.6)

2012-05-10 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: compiz
Version: 0.8.4-5.1
Severity: wishlist

The latest version in unstable is extremely old and I find it unusable.
I've checked the current Compiz repository (
https://launchpad.net/compiz-core/+announcements) and the latest version is
0.9.7.6. Is there any chance to see this in unstable or experimental soon?

Bug#655018: GTK3 apps use DejaVu Sans Book instead of Condensed

2012-05-02 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: libgtk-3-0
Version: 3.4.1-2
Followup-For: Bug #655018

I've checked the settings in xfconf and the /Gtk/FontName propiety appears as
"DejaVu Sans Semi-Condensed 10". If I run fc-match 'DejaVu Sans Semi-Condensed'
the output is:

Vera.ttf: "Bitstream Vera Sans" "Roman"

However, if I change the /Gtk/FontName propiety inside xfconf to "DejaVu Sans
Condensed 10" all Gtk apps use Bitstream Vera Sans instead. It seems that while
Gtk2 follow Xfconf, Gtk3 apps don't seem to follow it well.

Bug#654150: wicd-gtk: Errors in spanish translation and duplicate check boxes

2012-04-26 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: wicd-gtk
Version: 1.7.2.3-1
Followup-For: Bug #654150

I've checked the wicd translation tracker and it's complete.
https://translations.launchpad.net/wicd/1.7/+pots/wicd/es/+translate

It turns out that since my system uses the es-AR locale, wicd uses the es_AR.po
file instead of the es.po file to translate. The es.po file is fully
translated, but the es_AR.po isn't, so some strings aren't translated. There
are other Spanish locales which aren't fully translated, these are es_MX,
es_CO, es_NI, es_CL, es_GT and es_VE. These .po files should be removed or
updated so all Spanish locales have a full translation.

Bug#635345: alacarte should depend on gnome-panel

2012-04-22 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: alacarte
Version: 0.13.2-3
Followup-For: Bug #635345

Bug#668954: policycoreutils: /usr/bin/sandbox "Invalid argument" error

2012-04-15 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: policycoreutils
Version: 2.1.10-6
Severity: grave
Tags: upstream
Justification: renders package unusable

When attempting to use the sandbox command on permissive mode, without the -H
or -T options, the following error message appears, regardless of the command
entered:

/usr/bin/sandbox: [Errno 22] Invalid argument

When attempting to use the command with the -H and -T options, a different
error message appeared, regardless of command used:

Could not set exec context to
unconfined_u:unconfined_r:sandbox_x_t:s0:c236,c539.
Failed to remove directory /tmp/.sandbox-root-vfZJIt: No such file or directory

Therefore I can't use the sandbox command. When attempting to run it under
enforced mode, it isn't allowed to run due to missing type enforcement
policies. If I add the missing policies, the same errors that appear on
permissive mode show up.

2012-04-02 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: liferea
Version: 1.8.3-0.1
Severity: normal
Tags: l10n

In the Spanish translation, all sentences in the Preferences and Feed
Propierties dialogs which appear in bold are in English. I've checked the
Spanish translations at http://translationproject.org/domain/liferea.html and
these sentences are already translated, so I think it's a bug in the program
that causes strings in bold to appear in English.

Steps to reproduce:
-Click on "Tools" on the menu
-Click on "Preferences"
-Click on "Feed" on the menu
-Click on "Propierties"

Bug#666488: Patch to fix unresponsiveness after logging in to MSN account

2012-03-30 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: emesene
Version: 2.12.1+dfsg-1
Severity: grave

After logging in to a MSN account in emesene, and the contact list appears,
the program gets completely unresponsive and hangs, and I have to end up
killing the process manually, so I can't use emesene at all. I reported
this to upstream and I was told it was an issue related to OpenSSL 1.0.1
that has been fixed recently. Here's the patch that solves this issue:
https://github.com/emesene/emesene/commit/bce64813cdb44111bc7bb056b3122ead160a1ea3.

I downloaded emesene from git and the program works normally again. Please
apply this patch as soon as possible.

Bug#651913: new upstream release available (1.8)

2012-02-17 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Since anarcat didn't send a debdiff, I decided to make a package myself.
I'm attaching a debdiff against the 1.6.5 package to this report. I made
the package on amd64 architecture, so the debdiffs are for the amd64
versions of those packages. I'm not sure if I can help, but if you want I
can send you my package. By the way, according to the upstream changelogs,
there are five bugs which were fixed in previous versions (1.7.0 and later).

Bug#654950: No Condensed fonts work in GTK3

2012-01-30 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
I have discovered that Nimbus Sans L Regular Condensed (or Italic
Condensed, or Bold Condensed, etc...) won't work in GTK3 either. If that
font is selected in the XFCE font setting GTK3 will use the regular font
instead. In other words, no "Condensed" fonts in my system work with GTK3.

Bug#654950: GTK3 apps use DejaVu Sans Book instead of Condensed

2012-01-28 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Here's the output of fc-match 'DejaVu Sans' in case you need it.

DejaVuSans.ttf: "DejaVu Sans" "Book"

Sorry for triple posting on the other bug report. My mistake I sent
posted the same message
twice, then when trying to post the same message in this bug report I
reported it to the other bug report by mistake.

Here's also the output of fc-match 'DejaVu Sans Condensed'
DejaVuSansCondensed.ttf: "DejaVu Sans Condensed" "Condensed"

I've also checked and it the same thing happens with DejaVu Serif:
GTK3 programs use DejaVu Serif Book instead of DejaVu Serif Condensed.

Bug#654150: wicd-gtk: Errors in spanish translation and duplicate check boxes

2012-01-01 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: wicd-gtk
Version: 1.7.1~b3-3
Severity: normal
Tags: l10n

In the Spanish translation, "Switch off Wi-Fi", "About" and "Quit" are not
translated, and the Refresh button is incorrectly labeled as "Preferencias"
(Preferences). Also, there are two "Connect to this network automatically"
checkboxes per each network, instead of one.

Bug#626309: linux-image-2.6.38-2-amd64: Wifi connection drops randomly with Realtek RTL8187 wifi adapter

2011-05-10 Thread Alejandro Carrazzoni
Package: linux-2.6
Version: 2.6.38-5
Severity: normal

I have a USB adapter (identified as Realtek RTL8187 Wireless Adapter) that I
use to connect to wifi. Until updating the kernel from 2.6.37-2 to the current
version, it worked perfectly, but now the connection drops randomly: sometimes
once a day, sometimes every 20 minutes, and sometimes all the time. The
computer can still detect the Wifi network, but I can't browse or download
anything. The same computer with the same adapter can connect perfectly with
Windows 7 and with the previous kernel, and the system does not detect any
signal drop when the connection drops, so I suppose it's some driver issue.
