Bug#979362: keepass2: desktop manager freezes when double click by url field

2021-01-05 Thread Aleksandr
Package: keepass2
Version: 2.41+dfsg-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

when you do double click by url filed in keepass and it's not url for example
ip address - you take error window and desktop manager freezes.

you can back to the work by pressing alt+f4.

In my vision it shoudn't be so.

Bug#976717: Microphone is working in Debian 10 and not working in Debian 11, MSI GX660 laptop

2020-12-07 Thread Aleksandr Popov

Version: 5.9.0-4-amd64

On my laptop (MSI GX660, sound chipset Realtec ALC888) microphone is
working in Debian 10 and not working in Debian 11. Microphone volume slider
in pavucontrol is greyed out. There are logs produced by alsa-info util
from each of the systems:

Bug#867921: cloud-init: Network configuration doesn't work

2017-07-10 Thread Aleksandr Mezin
Package: cloud-init
Version: 0.7.9-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Cloud-init writes '/etc/network/interfaces.d/50-cloud-init.cfg' with interfaces
'eth0' and 'lo'. When networking.service starts or restarts, it does not bring
up 'eth0'. But if I rename 50-cloud-init.cfg -> 50-cloud-init, it starts to
work. Also, changing the content of '/etc/network/interfaces' file to
'include /etc/network/interfaces.d/*' makes it work without renaming.

'/etc/network/interfaces.d/50-cloud-init.cfg' (and anything with an extension)
seems to be ignored by networking.service

Bug#867188: glx-alternative-nvidia: libEGL.so and libEGL.so.1 point to different libraries

2017-07-04 Thread Aleksandr Mezin
Package: glx-alternative-nvidia
Version: 0.7.4
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

On my system /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libEGL.so and /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-
gnu/libEGL.so.1 point to different libraries:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libEGL.so -> /etc/alternatives/glx--
libEGL.so-x86_64-linux-gnu -> /usr/lib/mesa-diverted/x86_64-linux-gnu/libEGL.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libEGL.so.1 -> /etc/alternatives/glx--
libEGL.so.1-x86_64-linux-gnu -> /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/nvidia/libEGL.so.1

The same is true for libGL:
/etc/alternatives/glx--libGL.so-x86_64-linux-gnu -> /usr/lib/mesa-
diverted/x86_64-linux-gnu/libGL.so
/etc/alternatives/glx--libGL.so.1-x86_64-linux-gnu -> /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-
gnu/nvidia/libGL.so.1

and libGLESv2:
/etc/alternatives/glx--libGLESv2.so.2-x86_64-linux-gnu ->
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/nvidia/libGLESv2.so.2
/etc/alternatives/glx--libGLESv2.so-x86_64-linux-gnu -> /usr/lib/mesa-
diverted/x86_64-linux-gnu/libGLESv2.so

So applications that try to dlopen() libEGL.so, libGL.so, or libGLESv2.so load
wrong library and fall back to slow softpipe.

update-glx is in "automatic" mode, 0 = /usr/lib/nvidia:

$ sudo update-glx --config glx
There are 3 choices for the alternative glx (providing /usr/lib/glx).

  SelectionPath Priority Status

* 0/usr/lib/nvidia 100   auto mode
  1/usr/lib/mesa-diverted 5 manual mode
  2/usr/lib/nvidia 100 manual mode
  3/usr/lib/nvidia/bumblebee 95manual mode

The package offers six different fonts, which are:
* Ponomar Unicode -- provides the typeface used presently in
liturgical books of the Russian Orthodox Church and other Easter
Orthodox and Byzantine Catholic Churches. Covers all Cyrillic
characters required for modern Church Slavonic as well as Aleut (Fox
Island dialect), Sakha (Yakut) and Moldovan (Romanian Cyrillic).

* Fedorovsk Unicode -- provides the typeface used in historical
printed books in Moscow in the 16th-17th century and used presently in
liturgical books of the Russian Old Ritualist communities. Covers
Cyrillic characters required for modern and 16th century Church
Slavonic.

* Menaion Unicode -- provides a typeface that mimics Church Slavonic
manuscripts (Cyrillic or Glagolitic) written in the 12th-14th
centuries. Covers all Cyrillic and Glagolitic characters needed for
Church Slavonic of all eras. Provides additional variants and
ligatures via OpenType or SIL Graphite features or through the Private
Use Area.

* Monomakh Unicode -- a font intended for use by academics studying
Slavic philology or history. This is not a historically authentic
typeface, but rather a stylized to mimick 14th/15th century Slavonic.
Coverage: all Cyrillic characters needed for Church Slavonic of all
eras, plus various variants and ligatures via OpenType / Graphite
features or through the PUA.

* Indiction Unicode -- a decorative typeface for typesetting drop
caps. Mimics the typeface of drop caps in modern liturgical texts of
the Russian Orthodox Church

* Pomorsky Unicode -- a decorative typeface for typesetting drop caps
or titles. Mimics the decorative script used by scribes at the Old
Ritualist Vyg Hermitage in the 19th century.

Bug#833137: base: Noised/low microphone sound (Lenovo IdeaPad B50-30)

2016-08-01 Thread Aleksandr Zelenov
Package: base
Severity: normal

1. Open gnome-sound-recorder and record your voice. Play your record. You'll
hear only noise.
2. Install and openv pavucontrol. In Input devices mute right mic channel and
set max volume for left one. Try step 1 again. You'll hear your voice but
 sound is extremely low.
3. In Input devices set microphone (unplugged) instead of built-in. Try step 1.
Same result as in 2.

Expected: clear voice with normal sound level.

Bug#674936: pulseaudio: Html5 player can change system volume on track changing. Pls disable it.

2015-07-31 Thread Ploskov Aleksandr
Package: pulseaudio
Version: 6.0-2
Followup-For: Bug #674936

Dear Maintainer,

I went to Youtube and tried to listen music. But when I change the track,
volume jumps up, to html5 player volume settings. It means, html5 player had
higher priority, than user (by default). My browser is ephipany. I think, it's
browser-independent.
Changing config file (flat-volumes = no) help to solve my problem.
Please, change default settings to flat-volumes = no, without help on russian
linux forum, I couldn't solve this problem alone, as user.

Bug#788318: nano: no escape for /* and */ inside the branches

2015-06-10 Thread Aleksandr
Package: nano
Version: 2.2.6-1+b1
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
Creating and editing .c file in nano

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

I had some code, that included some 'comment' symbol combinations
inside the branches, like strcpy(tmp, Accept: */*).
When commented in like /* strcpy(tmp,Accept: */*) */ , the 'gui'
fails to paint the commented text correctly.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

Wrong paining of the part of the text.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

I expected, that all of the text (and only) inside the '/* ... */'
sequence would be painted as 'comented'.

Bug#675530: Better workaround

2014-08-15 Thread Aleksandr P
Hello.

Looking at grub.cfg, I can see --set=root in the linux entries, but
not in the Windows entry, and editing grub.cfg manually to include
=root in the Windows entry fixes the problem.

As far as I understand, it is better to modify /etc/grub.d/30_otheros
and make update-grub after that. If you modify grub.cfg manually, it
will return back after update-grub (for example, after kernel
updating).

Strange. What I get now is black screen during 3 seconds every time I switch

3 seconds is for VirtualBox, right?

This happens only with VGA mode, and even after disabling debugging flags.

No, real hardware (Radeon HD 2400 PRO).

This black screen is not just black pixels, it looks a lot like the
usual mode switch effect
between X and text console.

Aha, so it is mode switch, so display done that job a bit long.
Ok, I will try to modify mode restore, to check old mode before forcing new one.

Thanks!

Hello.

If it is not a bug let it be a wish.

Most of java dependent packages have such dependency as java6-runtime.
The virtual pakage can be provided by both java6 or java7.

I believe a user should have a choice. According to bug #672618 scilab
5.3.3-10 can work with java7.

Maybe it is too dangerous to change something in stable, but the
alternative can be added to testing.

Best Regards,
Aleksandr.

Up and Down arrows, PgUp, PgDn don't scroll the whole page, but change
focus between page elements. Mousewheel works fine. Keyboard scrolling
works well in Firefox 4.0, so it's probably not an upstream problem.

 Works fine here.

Upstream Author : Percona Server Development Team mysql-...@percona.com
* URL : http://www.percona.com/software/percona-server/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C, C++, Perl
Description : Percona Server with XtraDB

Percona Server is drop-in replacement for MySQL

Percona Server with XtraDB is a drop-in replacement for MySQL, with full
backward compatibility.

Percona Server provides diagnostic tools useful to DBAs, and more tunability of
server behavior. Also included is Percona's online backup utility XtraBackup,
the open source tool for the XtraDB / InnoDB.

Percona Server with XtraDB shows outstanding performance and scalability on
today's high-end server systems with many CPUs and fast storage subsystems such
as flash storage and SSD. Notable advantages include:

* Scalability: Handles more concurrent transactions, and scales up on
powerful servers.
* Performance: Fast IO path, improved internal cooperation, and fast
checksums.
* Flexibility: Variable page size, better table and buffer pool management,
and configurable insert buffer.
* Reliability: Resilience to corrupted data, and crash-safe transactional
replication.
* Management: Online backup, InnoDB table import/export, fast recovery, and
configurable data dictionary.
* Diagnostics: Improved profiling and instrumentation.

so, if i create this file, cone start to think that it found interrupted

My previous comment still stands. I'd like people more involved in

Sigh. From what I've witnessed over the years, os-prober has always
been designed as a component of Debian Installer, used to properly
setup boot loaders' menus at install time.

Apparently, recent evolutions turned it to be installed on running
  systems *because* grub recommends it.

well, Colin Watson is about to say that he disagrees with that
  analysis..:-)

  Let's have him elaborate...

Bug#599203: os-prober: Causes Data Corruption on a SAN setup; Mounts SAN volumes that are already mounted on a different host.

2010-10-05 Thread Aleksandr Levchuk
Package: os-prober
Version: 1.39
Severity: important

An upgrade (os-prober 1.35 - 1.39) corrupted 3.3 TB of data on our SAN.

I was upgrading the host space1 and the data corruption occurred on space2. An
install script of os-prober tried mounting as read-only a SAN volume which was
already mounted on space2. That volume (on sapce2) was in production use so
EXT3-fs (on space1) concluded that the journal was inconsistent, re-mounted as
writable and performed a recovery.

The mount on space2 became unavailable bringing the production host down.
Re-mounting failed. After rebooting space2 fsck was required on the affected
partition. It ran for many hours and found a huge number errors. Probably more
than 10,000 errors. Then I was able to mount the volume and saw that our data
was turned into gray goo: parts of system prel scripts were replaced by binary
chunks, databases and web servers would not start. I had 30 containers in
production. Some actually booted despite major sporadic data corruption in them.

My fellow system administrator from another department on campus said that
their distribution (CentOS) does not run install scripts. As he worded it -
Debian ended-up managing your SAN for you.

The reason why I got os-prober was the change in Debian's policy to install all
recommended packages and os-prober was recommended by Grub. I am not sure why
the data corruption did not happed when I upgraded to Squeeze a month ago
(grub-common 1.96+20080724-16 - 1.98-1).

I'm attaching the aptitiude log and syslog of space1.

The root of the problem is also described in bug #556739
(http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=556739). The author predicts
filesystem corruption and data loss back in 2009.

An upgrade (os-prober 1.35 - 1.39) corrupted 3.3 TB of data on our SAN.

I was upgrading the host space1 and the data corruption occurred on
space2. An install script of os-prober tried mounting as read-only a
SAN volume which was already mounted on space2. That volume (on
sapce2) was in production use so EXT3-fs (on space1) concluded that
the journal was inconsistent, re-mounted as writable and performed a
recovery.

The mount on space2 became unavailable bringing the production host
down. Re-mounting failed. After rebooting space2 fsck was required on
the affected partition. It ran for many hours and found a huge number
errors. Probably more than 10,000 errors. Then I was able to mount the
volume and saw that our data was turned into gray goo: parts of system
prel scripts were replaced by binary chunks, databases and web servers
would not start. I had 30 containers in production. Some actually
booted despite major sporadic data corruption in them.

My fellow system administrator from another department on campus said
that their distribution (CentOS) does not run install scripts. As he
worded it - Debian ended-up managing your SAN for you.

The reason why I got os-prober was the change in Debian's policy to
install all recommended packages and os-prober was recommended by
Grub. I am not sure why the data corruption did not happed when I
upgraded to Squeeze a month ago (grub-common 1.96+20080724-16 -
1.98-1).

I'm attaching the aptitiude log and syslog of space1.

The root of the problem is also described in bug #556739
(http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=556739). The author
predicts filesystem corruption and data loss back in 2009.

Bug#522726: kernel problem after a simple 'rm' command: RESERVE_SPACE(805) failed in function encode_lookup

2010-04-05 Thread Aleksandr Levchuk
Hi Ben,

No, I haven't got a chance to check if the bug exists in newer version.
We changed our NFS server from Linux to OpenSolaris.

But it was a major problem. It re-occurred every time a user would
attempt a filesystem operation where the filename was very long (e.g.
500 characters). Any fs write operation (rm, create new file) would
cause the kernel panic.

The crash happened several times a year. In all cases it was when
someone would antecedently pass data instead of a filename to a peace
of code that expects filenames.

My very stable server crashed as a result of a 'rm' command in an
NFS-mounted home directory. The 'rm' command was a file name (with
newlines) but that file did not exist.

Sorry for the delay in replying to this.  The nfs-kernel-server package
only contains supporting scripts, but the bug is clearly in the kernel
 itself (linux-image-* packages).

The system you reported this bug from was apparently running Linux
2.6.22.  I assume that is the same version in which you saw this bug.
Have you seen the bug reoccur in any more recent kernel version?

 Ben.
