Bug#712747: dnsutils: dig +trace makes norecursive NS root query

2013-06-19 Thread Bégault Luc

Package: dnsutils
Version: 1:9.8.4.dfsg.P1-6+nmu2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
dig +trace retrieves root server list by an NS Root query on the local
recursive server. This query has the Recursion Desired bit set to 0 as
all the

iterative query after. Some ISP recursive server refuses query with RD flag
sets to 0 and dig +trace cannot be used in such situations.
dig needs an option to change the RD flag on this first query or another
way to

retrieve NS server list (like allowing a db.root file).
Regards,
Luc.

Bug#632902: [ifupdown] ipv6 auto method refuse vlan interfaces

2011-07-06 Thread Bégault Luc

Package: ifupdown
Version: 0.7~alpha5.1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Quick ifup output:
#ifup eth0.10
Set name-type for VLAN subsystem. Should be visible in /proc/net/vlan/config
Added VLAN with VID == 10 to IF -:eth0:-
error: net.ipv6.conf.eth0.10.accept_ra is an unknown key
Failed to bring up eth0.10.

The interfaces file:
auto eth0.10
iface eth0.10 inet6 auto

ifup tries to set net.ipv6.conf.eth0.10.accept_ra instead of
net.ipv6.conf.eth0/10.accept_ra ( . to / substitution needed with vlan
interfaces). I think the problem can happend with the .autoconf key to.

Luc.

It can allow user to maintain a single cache for multiple computer (I
