Bug#701680: Segfault when attempting to read a file

2014-03-13 Thread Dario Minnucci (midget)
Hi Adrian,

 Hi Dario and Josh!

I can easily reproduce the issues on two machines running Debian unstable.

 Here's how to reproduce it:

 mkdir dlna
 djmount -f -d dlna
 open another shell
 cd dlna
navigate to any folder in the DLNA share
 cp some file dlna

djmount just stops with Segmentation fault and the file operation
issues a Transport not connected error message:

glaubitz@z6:..Banda_Bassotti/banda bassotti - asi es mi vida cp -av 03\
 -\ ay\ nicaragua\ nicaraguita.mp3 /tmp
 ‘03 - ay nicaragua nicaraguita.mp3’ - ‘/tmp/03 - ay nicaragua

 endpoint is not connected
cp: failed to close ‘03 - ay nicaragua nicaraguita.mp3’: Transport
 endpoint is not connected
glaubitz@z6:..Banda_Bassotti/banda bassotti - asi es mi vida

I haven't figured out yet what factors are relevant for the problem
(host architecture etc), but the problem definitely exists.

 Adrian

I've tried to reproduce this issue taking discribed steps and the file were
copied correctly on my
system.

My arch is i386 and running Mediatomb as DLNA server

Are your running djmount on amd64 arch?

These are the packages currently on my system:

--- on shell 2 ---
$ cp '/mnt/djmount/MediaTomb/Audio/Albums/Clube Da Esquina 2 (2 of 2)/Maria,
Maria.mp3' /tmp/

$ ls -l /tmp/Mar*
-r--r--r-- 1 user user 2964462 Mar 14 00:47 /tmp/Maria, Maria.mp3

I'm really looking forward to fix this issue but none of the input I've got on
this thread produced
the segfault on my system.

By reading this thread again, I guess is related with fuse and amd64 arch.

Any additional info will be appreciated.

Thanks for reporting.

Bug#569686: mantis -- upgrade for php-5.3

2010-02-18 Thread Dario Minnucci (midget)
tag 569686 + moreinfo
thanks

Hi,

I've took a 30 seconds look at mantis after setting error_reporting(55); and
I've got lot of:

SYSTEM WARNING: date() [function.date]: It is not safe to rely on the system's
timezone settings.
You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the
date_default_timezone_set() function. In
case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you
most likely
misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'Europe/Berlin' for 'CET/1.0/no
DST' instead

Just warnings!, you can get rid of these by adding this line at the top of your
/etc/mantis/config_inc.php file:

date_default_timezone_set(TZ);

Of course.. 'TZ' corrensponds to your timezone, in my case:

date_default_timezone_set(Europe/Madrid);

Meanwhile, I'm tagging this bug with '+ moreinfo', I cannot dig in the code
right now to guess where
the 'ereg' problem is appearing.

It would be GREAT if anyone can provide a the navigation flow to follow in
order to detect the
'ereg' Warning|Errors you are referring to.

Cheers.

That would really be welcome. The truth is that I don't really
understand any distribution's mechanism for packaging. For example,
why does it look for tar.gz files instead of looking for the deb
 files?

The watch file looks for the source code version and discard your external .deb
package because it's
not under a Debian repository (It's just an isolated .deb file somewhere). No
Debian user will be
able to install|update|or interact in any way with that package, via
apt-get|aptiude|any_other_package_management_tool because it's not under a
Debian repository.

I'm grateful to anyone who knows these things. I'll grant

Ok, I'll contact you about this subject soon, thanks.

Bug#558159: maatkit: Please, package new version 5014

2009-12-04 Thread Dario Minnucci (midget)
Hi Baron,

I assume this is really the fault of the watch file, which you
provided a patch for in BTS #558158. There is a .deb package on
 http://code.google.com/p/maatkit/downloads/list for every new release.

The watch file I've provided seeks for new source versions (tar.gz files) to
spot possible updates
for the official package and doesn't take in account .deb packages maintained
externally.

Can I help somehow in the maintainance of the Debian offical version of maatkit?

Bug#551730: mon: [PATCH] Use ISO8601 dates in alert messages

2009-10-20 Thread Dario Minnucci (midget)
(Jari Aalto: Thanks for reporting and patching)

Hi,

Hereby, I'm forwarding a patch I received on Debian Bug Tracker [0] proposing
to use ISO 8601 date
format on mail alerts. Please, consider it's inclusion.

Cheers,

[0] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=551730
Note it is based on mon 0-99-2 version.

Jari Aalto wrote:

The following patch makes the alert messages appear in ISO 8601 format.

 -MM-DD HH:MM

 MOTIVATION

For international context, the ISO date is recommended:

   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601
   http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/iso-time.html (ISO8601 by Markus Kuhn)

For non-english people, the month names, like Oct are problematic.
It's not easy to remember if Oct comes before of after Sep etc.

2009-09-30 Thread Dario Minnucci (midget)
Hi Sandro and Christopher,

I'm not interested in this package.

I've only changed the bug title syntax because was incorrect and old title was
not parseable by
other applications as http://wnpp.debian.net

As you can see, Christopher, remains as owner.

Cheers.

Bug#547556: mon: Mon fails to start at system boot, a later (re)start works, though

Hello Andreas,

Since some time now (sorry, don't have exact version where this
started happening), mon fails to start at system boot.

I couldn't make find any related syslog messages, and on the console
it just says Starting mon daemon: mon short pause failed.

I know that this a rather vague report, and I'd appreciate any hints
on how to best instrument the init script to isolate the cause.

 Thanks, Rotty

Yes, the bug was accidentally introduced in the latest upload (0.99.2-14)

By adding the correct settings in /etc/init.d/mon the problem goes.

The top of the file should read:

#!/bin/sh
#
### BEGIN INIT INFO
# Provides: mon
# Required-Start:$syslog
# Required-Stop: $syslog
# Should-Start: $local_fs
# Should-Stop: $local_fs

# Default-Stop: 0 1 6

intead of

#!/bin/sh
#

# Provides: mon
# Required-Start:$network $local_fs
# Required-Stop:
# Should-Start: $named
# Should-Stop:
# Default-Start: 2 3 4 5
# Default-Stop: 0 1 6

Thanks for reporting

Bug#433265: So could we finally get a new version?

2009-09-03 Thread Dario Minnucci (midget)
Hi Michael,

First of all, let me say sorry for the delay in releasing this update.

I hope this IS the last update on 0.99.2, but I think was needed to leave this
version operative.

Michael Alan Dorman wrote:
 Hi, Dario,

First, let me say thank you for the work you have put into this
package. It's not as glamorous as some, but those who use it are
 devoted to it.

That said, it's been in excess of two years since this bug was filed,
and it is getting tiresome waiting for a release of a recent version of
 mon.

Yes, sorry again.

In fact, I got so fed up waiting, I actually spent a couple of hours
 yesterday---what a coincidence---creating packages for mon-1.2.0, and
was even considering hijacking the package, since you hadn't touched it
 in nearly a year.

I've attached the diff that this produced, which I'm happy to have you
use, but *please*, either produce the updated package you have been
promising for more than two years, or orphan the package so that
someone who has the resources to devote to it can take over.

I have some work already done on 1.2.0 and hope to be able to upload it after
this one -14 gets into
testing.

I'll take a look to your work and will be used to speed up the 1.2.0 upload,
thanks a lot!.

Incidentally, as part of the update, I converted all the code changes
in the package to individual patches (I used quilt rather than dpatch,
but that's easy enough to deal with) to simplify management, converted
it to use debhelper to implement debian/rules and otherwise tried to
make it more easily maintainable. I think this will make it simpler
for you to review the changes and move ahead.

 Thanks for your work,

Thanks again for your work on mon.

Bug#541863: Please include conffile.template

2009-08-26 Thread Dario Minnucci (midget)
Hi Daniel,

there is no value of having a static configuration file. also, a
'sample' one can be just generated with 'lh_config'.

OK, maybe the way you are proposing is better in order to avoid out-of-dated
templates.

Feel free to close this bug report.

Thanks anyway.

Cheers.

Bug#541863: Please include conffile.template

2009-08-16 Thread Dario Minnucci (midget)
Hi Daniel,

there is no value of having a static configuration file. also, a
'sample' one can be just generated with 'lh_config'.

I did not see any information about how to generate a 'sample' file using
lh_config, that's why I
was looking for the LH_ vars around the code and tried to put the most in a
single file to be easily
modifiable if you use --conffile option for different (but similar) builds.

Can you please point me out to how can I generate that 'sample' file.

Regards.

Hy Richard,

The package will be uploaded after lenny release.

Anyway, I'll forward the ipvs monitor to upstream as well to be included in mon.

Thanks for contributing.

Please include the two attached files as

 /usr/lib/mon/alert.d/ipvs.alert
 /usr/lib/mon/mon.d/ipvs.monitor

respectively. I will submit them to upstream, as well.
They are a minimal overhaul from Christopher DeMarco's work back in 2004
and can be used to monitor change the state of ipvs (see Debian
 package ipvsadm for reference).

 Thanks,

this? I'd love to see a new mon version being packaged... If any help is
 needed,
 feel free to contact me.

I was working in parallel on 0.99.2-13 bugfixing and packaging the 1.2.0
version.
I prefer to upload the -13 as the last release of 0.99 version and after lenny
release, work
exclusivelly on 1.2.0

Thanks for the help offer, if I need anything I let you know.

Cheers.

I dedicated time to keep this package up-to-date and I don't really want it off

Please, let me know how do I get the latest source and I'll fix thw bug and
upload the new version ASAP.

Thank you for your time and dedication.

Bug#315677: gnupg: freezes when checking a signature (corrupted trustdb)

2008-06-26 Thread Dario Minnucci (midget)

Hi Greg,

I've experienced same error a while ago when executing 'apt-get source
package' and I've read the
bug you pointed out (#310328)

Somewhere in bug #310328 info reads:

[...]
Executing a `rm -f .#lk0x81* *.lock *.tmp` in ~/.gnupg seems to be enough
to let gpg recover, but I can't say anything for the consistency of the
keyrings.
[...]

So, I did that and the problem is solved for me.

I hope this helps.

Hi again Roderick,

Roderick Schertler wrote:
You've made a release since we last spoke about this bug, can I ask why

You are right, I didn't include the rollback to the default behavior in that
upload for no specific
reason. I had the package upside down implementing the long list of things
appearing on the
changelog and I missed that one. My fault.

I'm currently working on 1.2.0 version, but soon, I'll take a break to fix a
that and make the last
upload of that version.

If you need another reason why the default behavior make more sense,
consider what happens when you're monitoring hundreds or thousands of
services. I think you must be monitoring just a few things if you feel
that showing everything by default is desirable.

Good reason.

Thanks for reporting and keep tracking.

Cheers.

Hi Marcus,

Your report is the first about this issue, even I'm currently using echoping
with -h option in a script and had no probs.

Here is the output I get running same command:

$ echoping -v -h / localhost

This is echoping, version 6.0.2.

Maybe hardware problems?
