Bug#996433: transmission-daemon: Transmission fails to send mail using exim4
If that's the official way to fix it, I think so. Hopefully this page stays findable by search engines so that others trying to get Transmission to send emails through Exim don't have to do all the troubleshooting that I did :) I've made this change to my system, thanks for the tip. I'm still learning systemd.
Bug#1052062: plasma-desktop: Tab order of Application tab within an application's .desktop file is incorrect
Ah, I thought the upstream people preferred to get bugs forwarded to keep away the riff raff like me :) I'll go ahead and open a bug with KDE then. Thank you for all that you do. Bug#1052062: plasma-desktop: Tab order of Application tab within an application's .desktop file is incorrect
Package: plasma-desktop Version: 4:5.27.5-2 Severity: minor Tags: a11y upstream Dear Maintainer, Steps to reproduce: 1. Right click on any .desktop file and select properties. 2. Click the Application tab at the top. 3. Press tab to cycle through the available LineEdit fields. 4. Observe that the order is Application tab, Name, Description, Comment, Environment Variables, Program, Browse button, Work path, browse work path button, Arguments. The order is from top to bottom with the exception of Arguments being skipped and then added last. The order should be completely top to bottom. The end of the current order should be Program browse button, Arguments, Work path, browse Work path button instead. I'm pretty sure this is an upstream issue as it's also present in KDE version 5.27.8 on EndeavorOS. Thank you for your time and hard work making Debian badass. Bug#996433: transmission-daemon: Transmission fails to send mail using exim4
I've installed transmission 4.0.2 from testing and found that it reverted my /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/transmission-daemon.service to have NoNewPrivileges=true which broke exim sending mail again. This bug seems to still be present. Let me know if there's any other info I can provide. On Thu, Jun 15, 2023 at 3:17 PM JT Hundley wrote: > I have no idea. Bug#996433: transmission-daemon: Transmission fails to send mail using exim4
I have no idea. I assume upgrading transmission wouldn't ask me to keep an older file here and I did not modify any of these files until I ran into the issue. I did that test on a fresh install which rules out me messing up the files :) Also, I'm not sure how I missed your email about this, sorry about that. I'm not sure if this bug is still present in the current stable version. I found this ticket after looking to make a new one for transmission in Debian 12. Bug#1037980: [Bug#1037980] Description of my bug
I've noticed the same behavior. I upgraded from Debian 11 to 12 and transmission-daemon memory usage just goes up and up until my system starts swapping hard and becomes unresponsive. This morning I caught it in the act and saw it using 90% of 16G RAM. At some points, I noticed that transmission-daemon was no longer running and I assumed that it had stopped starting at boot. Now I suspect that the oom killer killed it, but I haven't seen the oom killer in my logs. The only thing I've really done so far is restart transmission-daemon to avoid exhausting memory. I haven't added more torrents or changed my configuration in any way. Please let me know what I can do or what information I can provide to help fix this issue. Thanks!

When I restored my backup to the new drive, I noticed the same errors happening on the backup drive, which happens to be the same model as the drive I replaced. I thought there was no way that both of these drives failed at the exact same time, since the backup drive is only spun up once a week. The new drive is a different model and doesn't report any errors. I plugged the replaced drive into a different machine and booted knoppix which was running kernel 3.9.6 and didn't see any of the errors I saw before after reading a bunch of the drive and copying 14G. When troubleshooting I was able to find this Fedora bug report that seems relevant: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1351305 My errors would show up more or less constantly. From my troubleshooting, I've confirmed that: My computer and USB bus is functioning normally (the new USB drive doesn't generate errors) Neither hard drive is bad like I originally believed (no problem using the drive in another computer) The last thing I did before this problem started happening was to upgrade my system to the new minor version of Debian stable. There is another outdated option in the man page. The man page says to use --datacd to burn a data cd, however when you run k3b --help it states that the correct option is --data. k3b --help is correct that --data is used to burn a data cd.

Bug#365759: konversation: Server tab is blank while reconnecting.
Package: konversation Version: 0.19-1 Severity: normal -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 To reproduce, connect to one network and join some channels. Next, /quit. No tabs should be open now and only the menu bar is visible. Bring up the Server List window and reconnect. You'll see the server tab, but the area where the output generated by connecting is blank. There is no text field at all. When you get connected, you can switch tabs to a channel and then back to the server tab to fix the problem. - -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing-proposed-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-proposed-updates'), (500, 'proposed-updates'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16.9suspend Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages konversation depends on: ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.2-2+b1 core libraries for all KDE applica ii libacl1 2.2.36-1 Access control list shared library ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libattr1 2.4.32-1 Extended attribute shared library ii libaudio2 1.7-9 The Network Audio System (NAS).
