Yep! it was the problem, it is working now.

Thanks a lot Christos!

Now I know I must check for the NEWS file.

Bug#761072: nginx-full: php5-fpm does not work

2014-09-10 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
Package: nginx-full
Version: 1.6.1-2
Severity: important

When calling a PHP file the browser returns WSOD immediately while nginx
log says it is still working, after a few seconds log says client closed
connection while waiting for request:

2014/09/10 08:19:08 [notice] 7067#0: *5 ^/([^/]*)/.*$ matches /bla/,

host: localhost
2014/09/10 08:19:18 [info] 7067#0: *6 client closed connection while
waiting for request, client: ::1, server: [::]:80

At second line browser has ended request with a WSOD, then 10 seconds
latter nginx says client closed connection.

I configured php5-fpm log in debug mode and it does not report any
connection,
nginx never connects to php5-fpm socket.

Also tried disabling IPv6 and got the same behavior:

2014/09/10 08:44:23 [notice] 7411#0: *1 ^/([^/]*)/.*$ matches /bla/,
client: 127.0.0.1, server: localhost, request: GET /bla/ HTTP/1.1, host:

waiting for request, client: 127.0.0.1, server: 0.0.0.0:80

Had to downgrade nginx-full to 1.6.1-1+b1 and nginx-common to 1.6.1-1 to get
PHP working again.

Greetings.

Bug#620480: I'm having random freezes on a GM965

2011-04-13 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
Hello there,

I'm also experiencing problems with my Intel video card since the
upgrade to kernel 2.6.38. I have random freezes when watching videos
or editing them with Kino or Kdenlive.

The output of uname -a:

Linux inspironjaime2 2.6.38-2-amd64 #1 SMP Thu Apr 7 04:28:07 UTC 2011
x86_64 GNU/Linux

This is the card info from lspci:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile
GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (primary) (rev 0c)

Here is the version of the driver, I'll see if I can upgrade to
unstable version and see if the freezing stops:

xserver-xorg-video-intel:
  Installed: 2:2.14.0-4
  Candidate: 2:2.14.0-4

Bug#618882: Confirmed: upgrading python-kde4 works

2011-04-05 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
Hi there,

I had the same problem and upgraded python-kde4 as Philippe suggested and
everything is working now.

As I noted on https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=268875 if you login to an
account with default desktop, no extra plasmoids, everything works fine.
Dah! because it doesn't use python plasmoids!

Anyway, thanks a lot Philippe! now I can resume my work.

Bug#508807: gnome-desktop-environment: New windows don't show up until DNS resolver unfreezes

2010-05-29 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
No, localhost was already there but I had to add the machine name to
/etc/hosts like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.2 inspironjaime

Where inspironjaime was the name I gave to the machine at install time.

This problem happened when the name resolver was in a state in which it took
long times to resolve any name or fail, like when the machine is connected
to a LAN but can't reach a DNS.

It seems like GNOME was trying to resolve the machine name every time a new
window was opened, by adding the machine name to /etc/hosts as mentioned it
was guaranteed to have an instant response so it didn't get delayed.

I'm sorry but I can't check if this is still happening because now I'm using
KDE4 on all my machines and purged GNOME (I got tired of all this .net -
mono stuff around and all the cumbersome and unknown - no one knows where
they are - config files and registers that reminded me Windows)

Does the problem still persist with a recent Debian GNOME setup?

I think that this bug should be closed since no one else has reported it

Something else than the lvm2 initramfs-tools hook copies vgchange. This

Bug#511615: The user must be added to bluetooth group

2009-11-18 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
I was having this problem and after reading this bug messages I checked
my /etc/dbus-1/system.d/bluetooth.conf and found that the group allowed to
access the devices is bluetooth.

So now you must do:

# adduser bla bluetooth

Where bla is the user you want to grant access to the bluetooth devices.

I haven't restarted my session to see if it works because I don't want to
stop an important process now. But I'm sending this message before I forgot
to do it.

I will send a message telling if it works (if I remember)

it is something related with Metacity or some other GNOME app.

Well, actually compiz is not working.

When I run compiz it acts as loading, windows get redrawn but after
all happens I'm still on metacity.

It is happening since mesa was upgraded.

How can I get more debug information? I don't see any other output or log
that can help.

Bug#538297: kicad: CVpcb gets locked when browsing footprints

2009-07-24 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
Package: kicad
Version: 0.0.20080825c-1

*** Please type your report below this line ***

When I activate View selected footprint in CVpcb and start to browse
footprints by
pressing up and down arrow buttons in my keyboard, after a random amount of

CVpcb is frozen and I have to press the close window button until GNOME's
force quit dialog appears.

This is a very annoying bug since it makes it difficult and tedious to find
a
component footprint and the work is lost if not saved after CVpcb gets

I have just noticed that CVpcb gets locked only by moving the footprint list

It's also worth to mention that I'm using libraries included in the package

Bug#538093: thunar: When installed replaces nautilus as default GNOME file manager

2009-07-22 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
Package: thunar
Version: 1.0.1-1
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software

After installing XFCE and therefore Thunar; Thunar is selected as default
file
manager in GNOME. I don't know if it also affects KDE or other DEs.

Here is what happens when I log in my GNOME session: Nautilus still takes
care
of the desktop and if I double-click a desktop folder or drive I get a
Nautilus
window, but if I open an entry in the Places menu it is opened with Thunar
instead
of Nautilus, also when I enter a path in gnome-do or in the Run
Application dialog
it is opened with Thunar instead of Nautilus.

I have not been able to find a way to make GNOME open the paths with
nautilus again.

I think Apache is an overweight for a desktop machine, either for the full
gnome or only gnome-desktop-environment.

The way it is now you're forcing everybody to install Apache (and MySQL, as
it seems) even if they don't need webdav or will not use it. I think is
better to let only the ones that really need the user share and are willing
to have Apache on their machines install the package.

So I think is better to make gnome-user-share recommended instead of a
dependency.

Well, that's just my opinnion. Maybe I'm wrong and don't understand why
gnome-user-share is a must have.

Bug#534540: bluez-gnome: Send and receive broken since last update

2009-06-25 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
Package: bluez-gnome
Version: 1.8-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Since I updated to the last bluez-gnome in order to re-enable the obex://
url
in nautilus I can't send or receive files to/from devices.

Browsing works, I can browse the files and delete and copy files from/to
devices. The problem comes when I try to send a file via bluetooth-sendto,
it
asks for the file, asks for the device and then when it tries to send the
file the
transmission never starts and I must click Cancel, and when I try to send
a
file from the device to the laptop the connection is refused.

The device I'm testing with is a Nokia N95 and it is paired and I put a star

to it (I guess that authorizes/trusts it).

The bluetoth obex push option of nautilus-sendto has dissapeared as reported

in bug #534538.

I have also tried to establish connection laptop - desktop and it doesn't
work. The desktop is not updated, so it is working fine (bluetooth obex
option
in nautilus-sendto, sends and receives files). When I try to send a file
from
the desktop to the laptop it says that the laptop does not support OBEX. And

when I try to send a file from the laptop to the desktop is the same as with

any other device, it keeps trying with no success. Both devices trust each
other.

Since I noticed that bluez-gnome now conflicts with gnome-bluetooth I purged

it, but it still doesn't work.

Bug#534538: nautilus-sendto: Option to send via obex dissapeared

2009-06-25 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
Well, I think bluez-gnome replaces gnome-bluetooth because gnome depends on
bluez-gnome. So if I try to install gnome-bluetooth then apt must remove
bluez-gnome and gnome. And I don't like to remove the metapackage because I
don't want to miss new features.

I'm using the bluez-... packages from unstable, and nautilus also is from
unstable. Nautilus is browsing devices but I can't send or receive files via
obex push.

A more detailed description of all the bluetooth problems I'm having can be
read in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=534540

2009-06-25 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
I'm sorry.

I have to make some corrections to what I just wrote.

What I meant was:

If I try to use gnome-bluetooth then apt has to remove bluez-gnome and the
gnome metapackage. So I'm assuming gnome is migrating from gnome-bluetooth
to bluez-gnome. Even nautilus-sendto now suggests bluez-gnome and makes no
mention about gnome-bluetooth.

and specific instructions here:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=525183#30

I suggest using apt-get build-dep gnome-volume-manager to obtain the build
dependencies.

Thanks to the #debian irc channel on irc.debian.org I could find the answer.

I ask the package maintainer: This is an easy fix, can you please put it in

Bug#525330: network-manager: WPA to WPA2, must remove the stored keys for the ssid

2009-04-23 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
Package: network-manager
Version: 0.6.6-3
Severity: important

Recently I upgraded my WRT54G router to X-Wrt and enabled WPA2 keeping
the same SSID it has before the upgrade.

network-manager (NM) was not able to connect, and in the passphrase
dialog WPA was listed but no WPA2. After a lot of tries and NM
restarts I decided to change the router to WPA+WPA2(PSK) mode and NM
worked, but in WPA mode.

Then I changed it back to WPA2 and NM wasn't able to connect and the
passphrase dialog was not longer shown, so I decided to stop NM then
erase all the stored passwords for my SSID using Seahorse
(Applications-Accessories-Passwords and Encription Keys in Gnome).
When I restarted NM and tried to connect the passphrase dialog now had
the WPA2 option selected by default, I entered the passphrase and it
is working now.

Bug#511713: The real problem is with libgtkembedmoz.so

2009-04-01 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
Package: eclipse
Version: 3.2.2-6.1

*** Please type your report below this line ***

As you can see in the /usr/bin/eclipse script, the library needed in
order to have embedded navigator is libgtkembedmoz.so:

ja...@inspironjaime2:~$ cat /usr/bin/eclipse
...
# Set path for the Mozilla SWT binding
MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=${MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME%*/}
if false [ -n $MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME -a -e
$MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME/libgtkembedmoz.so ]; then

elif [ -e /usr/lib/mozilla/libgtkembedmoz.so ]; then
export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/lib/mozilla
elif [ -e /usr/lib/firefox/libgtkembedmoz.so ]; then
export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/lib/firefox
elif [ -e /usr/lib/xulrunner/libgtkembedmoz.so ]; then
export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/lib/xulrunner
elif [ -e /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/libgtkembedmoz.so ]; then
export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox
elif [ -e /usr/lib/mozilla/libgtkembedmoz.so ]; then
export MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=/usr/lib/mozilla

--title=Integrated browser support not working \
--text=This Eclipse build doesn't have support for the
integrated browser.
[ $? -eq 0 ] || exit 1
fi
...
ja...@inspironjaime2:~$

And I always got that message (This Eclipse build doesn't have
support for the integrated browser.).

But the only packages currently offering libgtkembedmoz.so in testing
and unstable are icedove and iceowl as you can see in
http://packages.debian.org/search?searchon=contentskeywords=libgtkembedmoz.somode=pathsuite=unstablearch=any

The problem is that none of those packages put the library in one of
the directories mentioned in the eclipse script that, I guess, are the
same ones in which the eclipse binary looks for the library.

So I made a simbolic link from the icedove location to one of the
directories mentioned:

inspironjaime2:/home/jaime# ln -s /usr/lib/icedove/libgtkembedmoz.so
/usr/lib/mozilla

And now everything works fine, I can use the embedded browser for
things like search the manual and so.

Of course, for that to work you must have icedove installed first.

Bug#522139: php-xajax: please update to version 0.5

2009-03-31 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
Package: php-xajax
Version: 0.2.5-4
Severity: wishlist

Please update this package to version to 0.5.

This seems to be a nice utility but I'm having trouble because it is outdated.

It is so outdated that I can't find the 0.2 documentation on it's web site.
There is only 0.5 documentation.

Anyway, thanks a lot for this package. I knew about this tool 'cause it showed
up in an apt-cache search.

Bug#501804: installation-reports: I guess is because libselinux.so.1 is missing

installation is taking place right now with the stable (Lenny)

Comments/Problems:

I just wasted 4  hours trying to install in a DELL Vostro 200. After
detecting network and configuring it said that no hard drive can be
located. After some investigation in the console I found that the
kernel driver was loaded and that I was abble to mount the partitions.
But when I ran parted_devices I got a ldd error indicating that
libselinux.so.1 was not found. So I downloaded the stable (Lenny)
installer and it worked fine.

For some reason the libselinux.so.1 library is missing so the
partition tools don't work and the installer reports that it can't
detect the hard drive, but the hard drive is working fine.

2008-08-13 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
I know what the problem is! I'm using the libav* (ffmpeg libraries) from
www.debian-multimedia.org.

I tried downgrading the libraries to use the official ones but it didn't
solved my problem since those libraries doesn't have the codecs I need :(

All I can do is wait until the libraries from debian-multimedia get fixed.

Bug#484565: /lib/modules/2.6.24-1-amd64/kernel/drivers/input/mouse/psmouse.ko: Patch to enable Dell 1420 touch pad's scroll is not working

2008-07-05 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
I'm sorry I forgot to update this thread.

There is no problem in the kernel, this bug must be closed.

The problem was that I was using the default xorg config file and that file
didn't had an entry for the synaptic driver. As soon as I modified the
xorg.conf and added the synaptic driver everything worked fine.

Thanks a lot, and once again, I'm sorry I forgot to report this was fixed.

Bug#477685: Please try newest xorg and intel driver.

2008-04-26 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva
On Thu, Apr 24, 2008 at 11:08 AM, Raúl Sánchez Siles [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

  Hello:

I see some strange things on your settings. If you are on Debian hardy
which is an ubuntu release shouldn't be on your repositories. Please remove
 it.

The reason because hardy was reported is that, sadly, many projects
have packages for Ubuntu but not for Debian, so I was forced to add
entries like:

# WxWidgets
deb http://apt.wxwidgets.org/ gutsy-wx main

# WxFormBuilder
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/rjmyst3/ubuntu hardy main

In order to get the last wxwidgets and wxformbuilder installed on my
system; but, don't worry, all my system packages are from Debian
Lenny.

Also I can see that you prefer lenny over sid, but some narrow margin. Also
mesa packages libglu1-mesa and libgl1-mesa-glx are no the newest version.

Please upgrade your system to latest lenny and try with that. If it doesn't
work, try upgrading xserver-xorg-video-intel and eventually full xorg to
 unstable.

My system is now up to date but pcbnew still crashes when I try to see
the 3d version of my board. Do I really must upgrade to unstable? I
don't like to use unstable 'cause it is, well, unstable; and I can't
afford to have my laptop in an unusable or buggy state. I only have
unstable in my repository for those cases when a package in testing
has a dependency that is only in unstable.

If it still doesn't work it could be time to consider a video or Xorg bug.
Gather as much info as possible about the problem: pcbnew console output and
 even Xorg log.

pcbnew is completely mute; nothing is thrown to terminal or in Xorg log.

Anyway, current kicad version on Debian is not much up to date as well,
there have been some important changes on kicad since it was package. So
maybe you could be interested in waiting some time to try a more recent
 version once uploaded into Debian.

Well, I hope it gets updated soon. Meanwhile I'll have to get used to
be able to see the 3d version only in my desktop system.

Bug#466328: Removing the vga option makes debian-theme work

When I remove the vga=791 option from the kernel in grub's menu.lst the
debian-theme works, but the fingerprint-theme (

Package: usplash

Severity: important

*** Please type your report below this line ***
When the machine starts you can read:

bogl_init failed: EXPLODE

screen init failed

And that's it, usplash doesn't work. But is only in this machine a DELL

a COMPAQ Presario SR1717LA Desktop in which usplash works fine.

The same happens when I run usplash -c from the command line.

Bug#384379: [Pkg-bluetooth-maintainers] Bug#384379: WORK-AROUND for iscan not set

2007-01-02 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva

Hi everyone,

Note that deleting the config file in /var/lib/bluetooth is an essential

this is a big _NO_. Don't mess with the configuration storage directly.
The configuration storage has priority over the hcid.conf file and this
is meant to be this way.

The iscan and pscan config option are some legacy option that are
still available for some strange corner cases for some embedded distros
and they are not meant for general and permanent configuration.

Marcel, can you confirm the actual solution is the one you indicated in
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=384379#msg10 ?

Jaime, could you please retry as well? bluez 3.7 is both in testing and
unstable.

I've been using discovto 0; in hcid.conf without any problems for a while.
Currently I'm using bluez 3.7-1, there was an update a while ago when
I had to add the line again to hcid.conf to make it work, and since
then I tell debconf not to modify my hcid.conf in the updates so I
can't tell if this version doesn't have the bug.

If people don't learn that hcid.conf are proposed default values for the
cold run only, then I might simply remove the whole file in the next
upstream release. So stop writing ugly distribution specific hacks and
better ask upstream for it. There might might a real bug hiding
 somewhere.

If hcid.conf values are there only for a cold run I think it needs to be
documented, I didn't found anything in hcid.conf(5) though, is it documented
somewhere?

thanks,
filippo

AFAIK the only thing needed to get the behaviour I want is to add
discovto 0; to hcid.conf the problem was that I didn't found that
in the manuals so I think that updating the hcid.conf manual is a
solution to the bug, and it will be nice to add a default value with a
comment to the package's hcid.conf, something like:

...
# Set the time in seconds the discovery mode will be enabled, change
to 0 to keep it forever
discovto 180;
...

Bug#396641: wallpaper-tray: The configuration dialog does not work

2006-11-01 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva

Package: wallpaper-tray
Version: 0.4.6-3+b2
Severity: normal

Whenever I want to change the configuration I open the config dialog
by right clicking in the tray icon but when I click in the close
button the dialog does not close and I have to click in the close
window button of the window manager which cancels any changes made.

In the Directory List tab are two buttons Add and Remove those
buttons are broken too.

I was forced to modify the configuration by using gconftool.

Bug#391507: update-notifier: The system tray icon is not shown

2006-10-06 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva

Package: update-notifier
Version: 0.42.12-2+b1
Severity: important

The update notifier was working fine on my system but suddenly the
tray icon dissapeared.

ps reports that it is running:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ps -e | grep update
6548 ?00:00:05 update-notifier

When updates are available and I start a sesion then the tooltip
that looks like a cartoon dialog tells me that about the updates and
points me to the place in the tray where the update-notifier is and if
I move the mouse slowly in the notification area then a tooltip shows
up in the place where the update-notifier goes so if I press there the
update-manager is launched. But when there are no updates I can't find
the update-manager in the notification area.

To: BlueZ users [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi Jaime,

Whenever I try to discover the local system (Debian computer) from a remote
system (mobile device, or other computer) it can't be found. After
some research I found out that the ISCAN mode is disabled:

this should have been fixed in bluez-utils-3.3. You have to set the
discoverable timeout to 0 and the mode to discoverable over the new
D-Bus API and then it will stay visible forever. Otherwise it goes back
to being non-discoverable after the discoverable timeout.

Regards

Marcel

Adding discovto 0; to hcid.conf should do the trick.

You can change the settings from the command line using dbus-send, but I
don't think it's a good idea to put it into a init script. E.g. the
following would put the device in discoverable mode:
dbus-send --system --dest=org.bluez /org/bluez/hci0 \
   org.bluez.Adapter.SetMode string:discoverable

Bug#384379: bluez-utils: The inquiry scan (ISCAN) gets turned off

2006-08-23 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva

Package: bluez-utils
Version: 3.1-3.1
Severity: important

Whenever I try to discover the local system (Debian computer) from a remote
system (mobile device, or other computer) it can't be found. After
some research I found out that the ISCAN mode is disabled:

# hciconfig hci0
hci0: Type: USB
BD Address: 00:0E:6D:3B:31:AE ACL MTU: 192:8 SCO MTU: 64:8
   UP RUNNING PSCAN
   RX bytes:3190 acl:16 sco:0 events:208 errors:0
   TX bytes:1840 acl:17 sco:0 commands:105 errors:0

But according to my hcid.conf file it should be enabled by default for
all devices, I'm using the prepackaged hcid.conf :

# cat /etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf
#
# HCI daemon configuration file.
#

# HCId options
options {
   # Automatically initialize new devices
   autoinit yes;

   # Security Manager mode
   # none - Security manager disabled
   # auto - Use local PIN for incoming connections
   # user - Always ask user for a PIN
   #

   # Pairing mode
   # none - Pairing disabled
   # multi - Allow pairing with already paired devices
   # once - Pair once and deny successive attempts
   pairing multi;

   # Default PIN code for incoming connections
   passkey 1234;
}

# Default settings for HCI devices
device {
   # Local device name
   # %d - device id
   # %h - host name
   name %h-%d;

   # Local device class
   class 0x3e0100;

   # Default packet type
   #pkt_type DH1,DM1,HV1;

   # Inquiry and Page scan
   pscan enable; iscan enable;

   # Default link mode
   # none - no specific policy
   # accept - always accept incoming connections
   # master - become master on incoming connections,
#deny role switch on outgoing connections
   lm accept;

   # Default link policy
   # none- no specific policy
   # rswitch - allow role switch
   # hold- allow hold mode
   # sniff - allow sniff mode
   # park- allow park mode
   lp rswitch,hold,sniff,park;
}

In an effort to make the Debian computer visible to other devices
I'm running the following command:

# hciconfig hci0 piscan
# hciconfig hci0
hci0: Type: USB
BD Address: 00:0E:6D:3B:31:AE ACL MTU: 192:8 SCO MTU: 64:8
   UP RUNNING PSCAN ISCAN
   RX bytes:3294 acl:16 sco:0 events:221 errors:0
   TX bytes:1878 acl:17 sco:0 commands:112 errors:0

But after a while the ISCAN mode gets disabled and I must keep running
hciconfig to make the computer visible again.

I have tried with two USB-BLUETOOTH dongles of different brands
and the problem persists.

I have also tried it in sid and etch with the same results.

2005-08-10 Thread Jaime Alberto Silva

Hi Aurelien,

I only see the pic16 include files but the pic14 include files are missing.

I'm using the sdcc packages version 2.5.0-3 and the inc2h.pl script used
to convert the gpuilts inc files to c header files is not included in
any of them.

This script is not provided as the .h for the supported PIC processors are
already provided in the sdcc package, so you don't need to convert them.

Bye,
Aurelien
