 Hi Julien,

 I can't reproduce this bug, so could you provide step-by-step details of
 how you're attempting to create the share? A screenshot of the message
 would be nice too.

Hi,

i noticed that testparm once was part of the samba-common package
but has obviously been removed.

Ok I just noticed that gnome-volume-manager-gthumb doesn't exist anymore in

So it looks like g-v-m see's the media but it's not mounted anymore (I'm not
sure
if it's g-v-m's or nautilus' fault).

The nautilus version is 2.26.2-3.

 Ok I was wrong here. It also doesn't work with that g-s-d version.

 I just tested gnome-control-center 1:2.22.2.1-2 from testing and everything
 works fine there.

Ok this is _also_ wrong. Turned out that restarting the xserver is not
enough to make this bug re-appear.
If downgrading g-s-d and gnome-control center doesn't help, then what else
could be responsible for this problem?

 If you launch xev before re-binding them, which keys are returned when
 you press the shortcut keys?

 I see bind() twice:

  bind(5, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(6600),
  sin_addr=inet_addr(127.0.0.1)}, 16) = 0
  bind(6, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(6600),
  sin_addr=inet_addr(127.0.0.1)}, 16) = -1 EADDRINUSE (Address

 What listener addresses did you configure? If you have only one, then
 your system resolved has returned 127.0.0.1 twice (I cannot see that
 in the trace).

localhost indeed resolves twice on my system.
After removing the localhost entry from my /etc/hosts it only resolves once
and mpd works.
How does my system still resolve localhost if it's not in /etc/hosts? Any
ideas?
It seems like this behaviour was introduced by some other package upgrade
since mpd 0.14 worked fine just a few days ago.

 MPD 0.13 ignored all secondary addresses of a host, which was
 incorrect.

Well I think I've recently upgraded my libc6. Could that be the source of
trouble?

 Did you see anything helpful in the log (now that --verbose was
 enabled)?  I see:

  18958 write(1, ALSA device \hw:0,0\ will be play..., 73) = 73

 This got cut off by strace..

 The rest looks like MPD succeeds in playing a song, I see no problem.

 Try uncommenting the format line and see what happens. Maybe your
 card can't cope with 24 bit although the driver claims it can.

Switching to 16 bit did help, thanks.

Bug#507928: mpd: no audio output with 0.14

2008-12-05 Thread Julien Langer
Package: mpd
Version: 0.14~beta2-1

I don't get any audio output with 0.14 anymore. Neither the audio device
auto-detection, nor setting the output device manually helps. The log
also doesn't have any useful information.

Everything works fine with 0.13.2-3 though.

Bug#489487: totem-gstreamer: red and blue colors swapped

2008-07-06 Thread Julien Langer
Package: totem-gstreamer
Version: 2.22.2-3
Severity: important

Hi,

totem-gstreamer always swaps red and blue colors, no matter what type of
video I play.
This does not happen with other players (totem-xine, mplayer)
Now the interesting part is, after I play a video with totem-gstreamer,
all other video player also swap the colors.
Only a complete system reboot does fix it then for the other players
(restarting X11 and even
slaying all processs by the user does NOT help to get the correct colors
back with the other player)

Bug#489389: nvidia-glx: xserver does not start, complains about missing libwfb.so

2008-07-05 Thread Julien Langer
Package: nvidia-glx
Version: 173.14.09-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi,

since the last nvidia update my xserver doesn't start anymore:

(II) Loading sub module wfb
(II) LoadModule: wfb
(WW) Warning, couldn't open module wfb
(II) UnloadModule: wfb
(EE) Failed to load module wfb (module does not exist, 0)

(EE) NVIDIA(0): Need libwfb but wfbScreenInit not found

Also there's no libwfb.so on my system. Maybe because of my slightly
older xserver-xorg-core version 1.3.0?

Bug#444601: xserver-xorg-input-mouse: XF86DGADirectMouse mouse button mapping not working, no mouse wheel in some games

2008-07-05 Thread Julien Langer
Hi,

has anyone found a workaround for this bug?
This is still holding me back from upgrading my xserver.

Bug#444601: xserver-xorg-input-mouse: XF86DGADirectMouse mouse button mapping not working, no mouse wheel in some games

2008-07-05 Thread Julien Langer
Hi,

well I just upgraded my xserver-xorg-core to 1.4.2 and it works again.
I guess that nvidia-glx should depend on xserver-xorg-core = 1.4.0 or
something like that.

Bug#425742: Info received (Bug#425742: gnome-session: completely breaks desktop)

2007-06-20 Thread Julien Langer
I finally discovered what was causing this.
A custom splash screen that I had installed years ago... I didn't even
knew anymore that it was a custom splash screen :)

The strange thing is that gnome-session displays that image but than
freezes. And the old gnome-session version works fine with this image.
Maybe the file is corrupt though it displays fine in nautilus and eog.

  I did not have a session file since I never saved one and disabled the

  I just saved one with -1 and now -2 also starts.
  However -2 should also work without a session file.

 Believe me, it does work.

 Can you send me the session file you obtained after saving your session

 The only change between -1 and -2 is in the session saving code, not
 in
 startup code.

 As both were uploaded on different architectures, this may be a problem
 of missing or buggy build-dependencies. If you have some time, it would
 be nice to check whether rebuilding the package changes anything.

Rebuilding the package didn't help.

Bug#425742: gnome-session: completely breaks desktop

2007-05-23 Thread Julien Langer
Package: gnome-session
Version: 2.18.0-2
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

With gnome-session 2.18.0-2 gnome refuses to start. It hangs during the
startup with the splash screen.
Also most other X software cannot be started while gnome-session is
hanging.
It seems like gnome-session is blocking /tmp/.ICE-unix/ since the
strace of most other programs I tried to start looks like the following:

connect(10, {sa_family=AF_FILE, path=/tmp/.ICE-unix/9497}, 21) = 0
fcntl64(10, F_SETFD, FD_CLOEXEC)= 0
write(10, 0100, 8)= 8
read(10,

I also noticed that this doesn't seem to happen with all user accounts on my
machine.

  It seems like gnome-session is blocking /tmp/.ICE-unix/ since
 the
  strace of most other programs I tried to start looks like the
 following:

  connect(10, {sa_family=AF_FILE, path=/tmp/.ICE-unix/9497}, 21) = 0
  fcntl64(10, F_SETFD, FD_CLOEXEC)= 0
  write(10, 0100, 8)= 8
  read(10,

  I also noticed that this doesn't seem to happen with all user
 accounts on my
  machine.

 Could you send us your .gnome2/session file? Does it help if you move
 it
 away?

I did not have a session file since I never saved one and disabled the
automatic save feature in gnome-session-settings. And that also seems to
be the problem, -2 refuses to start when no session file is present.

I just saved one with -1 and now -2 also starts.
However -2 should also work without a session file.

Interestingly with the created session file the splash screen doesn't
disappear anymore (only when left clicked. This did not happen without a
session file in -1)

 Can you please run gksu with the -d switch? Don't forget to remove the
 password of the debug output before sending it in!

 I take it that the gksu window asking for the password appears but you
 get those problems after giving the correct password?

 Thanks,

Bug#384339: autodia: doesn't handle namespaces in C++

2006-08-23 Thread Julien Langer
Package: autodia
Version: 2.00-1
Severity: normal

It seems like autodia doesn't handle namespaces correctly.
Take the following example:
namespace foo
{
class A
{
};
};
namespace bar
{
class A
{
};
};

It makes autodia crash. The same happens if you substitute namespace
with class in the example.

 My guess here is that this is due to the dependency on libmagic which
 I've added in 2.7.7-4. To confirm this, could you please send me a gdb
 stacktrace? In order to get this, you only have to do

 % gdb mldonkey_server

 (gdb) bt

 and send me the output.

 Thanks.

Nope, -gnome was kept back because of ooqstart-gnome.
Had to do a dist-upgrade.

Bug#358570: openoffice.org: signal 11 on startup

2006-03-25 Thread Julien Langer
Seems like this error was caused by an old version of
openoffice.org-gnome.
I upgraded the openoffice.org-gnome package from 2.0.1-5 to 2.0.2-2 and
now everything works fine again.
Maybe ooo should conflict with old versions of openoffice.org-gnome or
force an upgrade of this package.

Bug#356338: lomoco: udev scripts aren't executed when the mouse is plugged in

2006-03-11 Thread Julien Langer
Package: lomoco
Version: 1.0beta1+1.0-1
Severity: normal

I noticed that the udev script isn't executed automatically when I
plug my mouse in.
I had to do the follwing to make it work:
-I changed the symlink in /etc/udev/rules.d from lomoco.rules to
025_lomoco.rules
-I had to replace RUN=lomoco with RUN=udev.lomoco bacause that's
how the script in /lib/udev is called.
