Bug#469132: xfterm4: Slower desktops switching when an xfterm4 is opened
Package: xfce4-utils Version: 4.4.2-4 Severity: normal Hi all! I notice that when I have an opened xfterm4 in desktop 1 (for example), when I switch to this desktop from the desktop 2 (fro example too), it takes nearly 2 seconds before the desktop appears. OK, since I don't use any composite stuff, this workaround works for me. I'm curious about why *only* xfterm4 is trying to use composite since, I my case, I ask it to display a black background without any transparency... I don't notice this problem with other applications for the moment ;) Thanks to you, Yves-Alexis ^^ Yves-Alexis Perez wrote: On Mon, Mar 03, 2008 at 12:11:10PM +, KnuX wrote: About versions: ii nvidia-glx 169.09-1 NVIDIA binary Xorg driver ii xserver-xorg-core 2:1.4.1~git20080131-1 Xorg X server - core server ii xorg 1:7.3+10 X.Org X Window System ii xserver-xorg 1:7.3+10 Ok, another nvidia binary driver… I have not do anything about composite, but nvidia drivers might be in cause... Package: samba Version: 3.0.28-1~lenny1 Severity: normal Since an upgrade (I can not tell you which one), my Windows 98 client is no longer able to access a shared home directory. Bug#345549: nfs: Mounting in background hangs boot process until doing ctrl+c if server is unvailaible
Package: nfs Version: nfs Severity: normal Hi all, I don't know if it is a NFS or mount related problem, but I decided to submit it to you since I have this problem for several months. I have two PC under Debian Unstable : A server (PC-Server) and a client (PC-Client). On PC-Client : - /etc/fstab : 192.168.1.2:/home/knux/amule /mnt/data/amule nfs bg,user,rw,nosuid 0 0 On PC-Server : - /etc/exports : /home/knux/amule 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0(rw,sync) When PC-Client is booting and PC-Server is unreachable (no network connection, shut down machine, etc.), the boot process stop when it tries to mount the PC-Server share. I reproduce this problem on a Debian testing : http://194.146.225.66/~max/nfs.png As you can see, the latest line is a punct .. Actually, I have the done. message and nothing else. The only way I found to resume the boot process is to type CTRL+C, and no background mount is done... So I have to mount manually the NFS shares. With the same server and a Mandriva 2006 as client, I have no problem with the same line in /etc/fstab. This problem occurs on Debian this the bg option is specified. I'm not a developper, but I think that the mount start-up script doesn't return. If I mount manually with mount -a or mount /mnt/data/amule and the network is unreachable, it's OK I have the error message and I can do another commands. Sorry if I submit this bug in the wrong list, I don't know where is really located the problem ;) Nevertheless, I hope this report will help you to resolve this problem and forgive my english... Bug#311284: apt-build: build-dir is detected as invalid directory after editing conf
Package: apt-build Version: 0.12.7 Severity: normal Hi all, Since an apt-build install xserver-xfree86 fails because I had No space disk left on a 2.5Go free space partition (/var, strange...), I decided to move build and repository dir on anothier partition. But now, apt-build doesn't seem to like this... I edit manually /etc/apt/apt-build.conf and I try dpkg-reconfigure before a --purge process. Same problem on a new install. I think it's a bug :) Good job however !
