Bug#750390: #338221
Package: courier-mta 8+ years later, I encounter this bug again, and the first Google result is my own bug report: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=338221 This bug happens after an upgrade, because the directory /etc/courier/smtpaccess/ now contains not just a file called default, but also a file called default.dpkg-old Software upgrades shouldn't break the software guys.

Bug#326694: apache-ssl won't run .php files
Package: apache-ssl Version: 1.3.33-6 Severity: normal apache-ssl refuses to execute php files. The browser instead prompts the user to save the file with mime-type application/x-httpd-php. /etc/apache-ssl/httpd.conf has: AddType application/x-httpd-php .php AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps The problem persists even if one adds in /etc/apache-ssl/modules.conf: LoadModule php4_module /usr/lib/apache/1.3/libphp4.so In particular, I'm trying to run squirrelmail. apache-ssl also doesn't even start with squirrelmail's default /etc/squirrelmail/apache.conf that lists: Directory /usr/share/squirrelmail php_flag register_globals off Options Indexes FollowSymLinks IfModule mod_dir.c DirectoryIndex index.php /IfModule # access to configtest is limited by default to prevent information leak Files configtest.php order deny, allow deny from all allow from 127.0.0.1 /Files /Directory It will only start if the php_flag line is commented out. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages apache-ssl depends on: ii apache-common 1.3.33-6 support files for all Apache webse ii debconf 1.4.30.13Debian configuration management sy ii dpkg1.10.28 Package maintenance system for Deb ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libdb4.24.2.52-18Berkeley v4.2 Database Libraries [ ii libexpat1 1.95.8-3 XML parsing C library - runtime li ii libmagic1 4.12-1 File type determination library us ii libssl0.9.7 0.9.7e-3 SSL shared libraries ii logrotate 3.7-5Log rotation utility ii mime-support3.28-1 MIME files 'mime.types' 'mailcap ii openssl 0.9.7e-3 Secure Socket Layer (SSL) binary a ii perl5.8.4-8 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii ssl-cert1.0-11 Simple debconf wrapper for openssl -- debconf information: apache-ssl/server-admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] apache-ssl/enable-suexec: false apache-ssl/init: true apache-ssl/server-name: localhost apache-ssl/document-root: /var/www -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Do you get any output in apache's error log when you start it? Yes it is. In fact, apache runs drupal, written in php, with no errors. But apache-ssl just doesn't. $ dpkg --list |grep -i libapache ii libapache-mod- 4.3.10-16 server-side, HTML-embedded scripting languag It will only start if the php_flag line is commented out. Which is what would occur if the php4 module isn't being loaded at all, since then apache doesn't know how to process php_flag directives. That would make sense, but still, libapache-smod-php4 is installed. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

What version of opendb did you have prior to installing the package? I had opendb-0.80-dev19, which was installed manually in the past. I've been using the opendb package for years and have used an existing database without any issues. I didn't get a prompt to select an existing database. I was only given prompts for the mysql root user account+password, and opendb database name. Have you run the upgrade scripts from the patches page? Well, after the opendb installation wiped my database, I removed the opendb package and continued with a manual installation with opendb-0.81p12. I ran the upgrade scripts from opendb-0.81p12. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
