Bug#580156: gnome-keyring: tools unable to connect to the daemon

2010-05-10 Thread Mark Petersen
Subject: gnome-keyring: unable to connect to the daemon
Package: gnome-keyring
Version: 2.30.1-2
Severity: normal
Tags: sid

I have the same issue with Evolution, and I am unable to send any messages
via smtp.

I solved the issue by removing libpam-gnome-keyring. I no longer have the
errors with connecting to the security agent, and I am able to send mail.

I don't know if this is relavent or not, but system is a desktop
authenticating to a Samba PDC with open-ldap. - The server is Ubuntu 8.04.
Libpam-gnome-keyring didn't work to unlock the keyring for Evolution, but I
had not removed it until today.

Bug#548137: totem: Cannot play .mov files

2009-09-24 Thread Mark Petersen
I will work on uploading a file soon.

Using this command, totem plays the file.

$ gst-launch-0.10 playbin2 uri=file:///home/mark/Desktop/100_0817.mov

Whether I click on the file from nautilus, use $totem filename, or use
the open function from inside totem, the player just sits there as
though I had not asked it to do anything. The time indicator shows
stopped 00:00 / 00:00 and the properties side bar information is grayed
out saying unknown and duration 0 seconds.

Bug#548137: totem: Cannot play .mov files

2009-09-23 Thread Mark Petersen
Package: totem
Version: 2.28.0-2
Severity: normal

An update between 1 and 2 weeks ago has caused totem to stop playing .mov
files. These are files from my digital camera. Totem (gstreamer) played them
fine before, now nothing happens when I open the file with totem.

I found that that if I use the following command totem will play the file.

gst-launch-0.10 playbin uri=file:///home/mark/Desktop/100_0817.mov

Thanks

Bug#544195: [CRASH] Uncaught exception TypeError in Frontend/Gtk/ui.py:953

2009-08-29 Thread Mark Petersen
Package: update-manager-gnome
Version: 0.200.0~rc2-1
Severity: normal
File: /usr/share/pyshared/UpdateManager/Frontend/Gtk/ui.py

I'm sorry to say that this bug is not fixed in rc2.

Another issue that I am seeing is after the update-manger window opens, I am
asked
whether or not I want to smart-upgrade. If I answer no another pop-up window
opens
and asks me again if I want to smart-upgrade. - Not sure if this is a bug or a
feature.

Finally, update-manger-gnome conflicts with update-notifier. Now I am not
seeing an
update available notification when updates are available. Is a newer
update-notifier
coming or is update-manager-gnome suppose to notify?

Thanks

Mark

Bug#527336: Updating apt to 0.7.20.2+squeeze1 removes synaptic aptitude update-manager

2009-05-06 Thread Mark Petersen
Package: apt

While updating my pc today using the Smart Upgrade option of Update-manager,
aptitude, synaptic, and update-manager were un-installed. apt was upgraded
from 0.7.20.2 to 0.7.20.2+squeeze1 to fix a problem with updates, I don't
think that this is going to help :-)

The notification area icon is brought by gnome-power-manager, not by
 gnome-applets.

Is gnome-power-manager correctly running? Does it display any errors
 upon startup?

After reinstalling gnome-applets-2.22.3-3 and gnome-applet-data-2.22.3-3 to
do some testing the applet is working as it should.

Apparently the initial update hiccuped

May be related to bug fix for #494301 ?

Bug#361807:

2006-04-12 Thread Mark Petersen
I ran into this too, but I thought it was a maybe related to having
different version of the module source installed. Anyway, the first
line in debian/control.modules.in should read

Source: drbd0.7

instead of

Source: drbd

and that fixed the problem for me. I didn't make a patch though.

Bug#320242: webmin-dhcpd doesn't configure systems with multiple NICs properly

2005-07-27 Thread Mark Petersen

Package: webmin-dhcpd
Version: 1.180-3

Syslog Error Messages -
dhcpd: No subnet declaration for eth1 (69.220.x.x).
Please write a subnet declaration in your dhcpd.conf file for the
network segment to which interface eth1 is attached.
dhcpd: exiting.

Description Of Problem -
Webmin DHCP Server Module - I edited Network Interface, selected eth0
for the only interface. This modified /etc/init.d/dhcp to include the
line: INTERFACES=eth0
however, it failed to modify /etc/default/dhcp and as such the line in
/etc/init.d/dhcp was not read. I guess this is expected behaviour in
Debian. The best solution would probably be for webmin to modify
/etc/defaults/dhcp instead of /etc/init.d/dhcp.

I'm using webmin-dhcp and dhcp. I could try using dhcp3-server and see
if the problem is resolved, but I haven't done that yet.

I'm using Debian GNU/Linux 3.1, kernel 2.4.27-2-386.
