Bug#950616: linux-image-5.4.0-3-686-pae: very slow speed for wired ethernet (upload)

2020-02-04 Thread Martin Lutz
Package: src:linux
Version: 5.4.13-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

after the latest upgrade, the upload speed with this 32-bit kernel became very
slow. Downgrading to kernel linux-image-4.19.0-6-686-pae solves the problem.

speed linux-image-5.4.0-3-686-pae 700-750 KB/s
speed linux-image-4.19.0-6-686-pae90-95 MB/s

Packages r8168-dkms and firmware-realtek are not installed.

Bug#910576: libreoffice-base: in my form, all entries are "input required"

2018-10-08 Thread Martin Lutz
Package: libreoffice-base
Version: 1:6.1.2-1

Dear Maintainer,

since the last update of libreoffice-base, all entries in my form are
suddenly "input required". When saving my changes I get the error message
"Error writing to database. Input required in field 'fieldname'. Please enter a
value".

In the corresponding table, all fields are still on the status "input required"
--> no. Saving an entry with empty fields is not a problem, there.

The database is mysql which is running on a different computer.

Bug#901378: jabref: wrong syntax after import of arxiv reference

2018-06-12 Thread Martin Lutz
Package: jabref
Version: 3.8.2+ds-5
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

with the button "New BibTeX entry" and then "ID-based entry generator" it is
possible to import an ArXiv reference. The resulting bibtex entry starts with
@Article. The correct syntax would be @Online.
(With @Article, jabref complains about an incomplete entry. The journal name is
missing.)

The problem is solved in the latest update. The update included a new version of
the package python-zmq, which is now in version 17.0.0-1. I assume that this
contained the fix.

Best wishes,

Bug#887594: update of package "blt" fixes the problem

to version 2.5.3+dfsg-4 fixes the problem.

Bug#887594: python-tk: segfault in pmw

2018-01-18 Thread Martin Lutz
Package: python-tk
Version: 2.7.14-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

if I execute the example program
/usr/share/doc/python-pmw-doc/examples/Dialog.py
and klick on the buttons, the programs ends in a segmentation fault.
(The example is part of the Debian package python-pmw-doc).

This situation occurs with python-tk version 2.7.14-1, but not with version
2.7.13-1.

We could pinpoint the problem to the module
/usr/share/pyshared/Pmw/Pmw_1_3/lib/PmwBlt.py
and the segmentation fault happens within the following python function:

def busy_hold(window, cursor = None):
_loadBlt(window)
if cursor is None:
window.tk.call(_busyCommand, 'hold', window._w)
else:
window.tk.call(_busyCommand, 'hold', window._w, '-cursor', cursor)

I am not sure if this related to the very old bug report 524149.

Dear Maintainer,

Bug#835185: mysql-workbench: Segfault when opening connection

2016-09-17 Thread Martin Lutz
The same problem here. On 6-Sep-2016 I updated libmysqlcppconn7v5 (sid), which
solved the problem with Segfault. On 16-Sep-2016 I updated libreoffice (stretch)
and the connection to the mysql server crashes again with SIGSEGV.

Bug#621073: libreoffice-mysql-connector: registration fails during install

2011-04-12 Thread Martin Lutz
Thank you for resetting the severity. I indeed think that this bug breaks the
installation of the package. (reportbug did not allow me to assign the severity
to serious.)

I am not aware of problems with my filesystem.

The problem can not be solved by completely removing and purging libreoffice and
then start a clean installation.

Best wishes,
Martin

I bet you have a filesystem problem, some corrupted install and/or

I mean, if t his was a real bug it would break install of the package

that I will *NOT* look at this.)

Bug#475671: kexi: csv import fails with type date

2008-04-12 Thread Martin Lutz
Package: kexi
Version: 1:1.6.3-5+b1
Severity: normal

If a comma-separated-value file, which contains a column of type date, is
imported into kexi, the column will be changed into type text.
It does not matter, whether type date is automatically recognized by the
import routine or manually selected by the user, the result will always be of
type text. It is not possible to change the type later into date, because
then kexi will loose all data.

Example:

id, familyname, firstname, birthday

3, Simpson, Bart, 1998-04-01

Bug#393654: nedit: Search/Replace does not work

2007-02-24 Thread Martin Lutz
Yes, that is the problem: the dialog pops up, but I cannot type anything because
the dialog is not focused. Clicking on the text field(s) of the dialog does
not help because it also does not focus and I still cannot type anything.

I noticed now that I can click on the title bar of the dialog. Then it is
focused and can be used.

After I submitted the bug report I noticed that this behavior is also in other
debian packages based on the lesstif library, e.g. the program xmgrace.

If it pops up, is it focused? Do keys work on the dialog?

The problem occurs, if the file .bluefish/session is missing in the

the whole directory .bluefish is missing.

Bug#393654: Search/Replace does not work

2006-10-21 Thread Martin Lutz
The problem is not only with Search/Replace. Other features like Mark,
Find, Goto Line and Save as can also not be used with the mouse and the
menu.

I use the window manager icewm (version 1.2.28-1 from Debian-testing). Today I
tried to use nedit with kde or wmaker and there I cannot reproduce the bug.

Package: nedit
Version: 1:5.5-2

The function Search/Replace does not work, if it is started with the
mouse via the menu.

There is no problem, when the function is started via the keyboard
shortcut [Shift]Ctrl+R.

Bug#387222: gfortran-4.1: internal compiler error: gfc_trans_deferred_array

2006-09-20 Thread Martin Lutz
Matthias Klose wrote:

this patch is applied in the package.

mhh, I obtain this error with gfortran-4.1 (version 4.1.1-13) from debian
testing. Indeed the line number in the gfortran source code is different from
the patch I found on the web. So, if I understand you correctly, it is just a
coincidence that this error occurs during the compilation of the same package
(tonto) and the internal compiler error is in the same file of the gfortran
source code (trans-array.c).

With the latest gcc-snapshot (version 20060912-1) from debian unstable, the
compilation of tonto was successful. This version appeared after the submission
of my bug report.

In the libc6 update to version 2.3.6-7, LD_ASSUME_KERNEL is broken

I also see this problem with nedit and with xmcd.

Icewm version 1.2.25-1 shows this problem (black box instead of icon). In
version 1.2.20+21pre1-3 everything is fine (no black box).

The problem with nedit and xmcd also exists, when I start these applications
remotely via ssh and X11-forwarding.

Bug#307286: cupsys-driver-gimpprint: apt-get upgrade fails

2005-05-02 Thread Martin Lutz
Are you updating an existing testing installation, or upgrading from
woody, or installing the package for the first time?

I am upgrading a mixed installation of woody/testing. On two computers the
update went fine, on two other computers the upgrade failed with the mentioned
error message.

If you are upgrading testing, when did you last do a full upgrade?

I do not know for sure. Something like two weeks ago.

 Is the grep package installed?

Yes, the grep package is installed (version 2.4.2-3).

If you apt-get install cuspsys-driver-gimpprint, do you get the
 error again?

Yes, the error remains the same.

As root, what does ls -l /etc/cups/ppd show?

prompt# ls -l /etc/cups/ppd

Right, I had version 5.6.1-8.9 of these perl packages. After upgrading to the

Thanks a lot.
