Bug#789727: Installation report - A13 Olinuxino

On this disk I installed u-boot mainline (https://linux-sunxi.org/Mainline_U-boot) and nothing else. This allowed me to load the rest of the installation system from a usb disk, with the image for armhf processors. I had problems launching the system from the usb disk, because u-boot told me somthing about a ehci timeout. I booted 4 times my board before the installation process started. Maybe this problem is related to my usb disk or something missing in u-boot. Boh! The board does not have a network interface, so I connected a wi-fi adapter to make the system talk to my private network and Internet. After the reboot I connected an ethernet adapter, identified. The firmware for my wi-fi network adapter were found by the installer in the usb memory because I copied them here in a folder called firmware. I don't remember were I took them, but probably, very probably, from my other system: a Lenovo with Debian Jessie (/lib/firmware). The installation process was followed from a serial console and I have to say that the graphic is not amusing, it's something confusing. -- Profilo: http://ehiahi.homenet.org/morpheus Blog: http://ehiahi.homenet.org/morpheus/blog Membro del LIFO: http://www.lifolab.org/ Membro del LinuxVar: http://linuxvar.it/ Amico del GL-Como: http://www.gl-como.it/ -- Martin Michlmayr http://www.cyrius.com/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#775204: mgp: Please update to latest upstream source
* Reuben Thomas r...@sc3d.org [2015-01-12 15:16]: The Debian maintainers may well know better, but I observe that the latest upstream diff is dated 2012/10/14, so perhaps it’s worth updating to then? (There were a bunch more changes in 2009 after the version currently packaged in Debian, then just one diff in each of 2010 and 2012.) This is just to let you know that mgp is orphaned in Debian, meaning it has no maintainer (see #509644). If you want to see mgp issues addressed, you could volunteer to be the new maintainer. -- Martin Michlmayr Linux for HP Helion OpenStack, Hewlett-Packard -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#790809: Please enable ARM64 support
* Vincent Cheng vch...@debian.org [2015-07-01 14:17]: This package is dependent on the proprietary nvidia driver, and upstream currently only releases it for i386, amd64, and armhf (armv7l) [1]. I don't think there's any point in building nvidia-settings on arm64 until upstream also releases the corresponding arm64 version of their proprietary driver. Thanks for the link. I didn't know where to check to see whether aarch64/arm64 binaries were available already. I know that Tegra arm64 with Nvidia graphics is shipping already, but not sure about the driver. In any case, feel free to close the bug report, or to leave it open until there are upstream drivers. -- Martin Michlmayr Linux for HP Helion OpenStack, Hewlett-Packard -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#790649: FTBFS: Program 'makeinfo' version = 5 is required.
* Cyril Brulebois k...@debian.org [2015-06-30 18:03]: The following patch does the trick. If we really want to keep the version check (we already had texinfo 5 in stable, but not in oldstable), having a versioned build-dep on texinfo should be a better idea? I sent the following upstream, which is at leat a better upstream fix. commit a8375daa8e2d1f1eca334c6add5dd2ffc5bcde01 Author: Martin Michlmayr t...@cyrius.com Date: Tue Jun 30 12:38:11 2015 -0400 Update configure.ac to reconize texi2any makeinfo, which is nowadays provided by texi2any, reports texi2any as of version 6.0. diff --git a/configure.ac b/configure.ac index 10a5efe..13041bd 100644 --- a/configure.ac +++ b/configure.ac @@ -89,7 +89,7 @@ if test x${MAKEINFO_FOUND} = xyes then MAKEINFO_VERSION_REQ=5 AC_MSG_CHECKING([for makeinfo version = $MAKEINFO_VERSION_REQ]) - MAKEINFO_VERSION=`makeinfo --version | sed -ne 's/^makeinfo .* \([[0-9]][[0-9]]*\)\.[[0-9]][[0-9]]*$/\1/p'` + MAKEINFO_VERSION=`makeinfo --version | sed -ne 's/^\(makeinfo\|texi2any\) .* \([[0-9]][[0-9]]*\)\.[[0-9]][[0-9]]*$/\2/p'` if test x$MAKEINFO_VERSION = x -o 0$MAKEINFO_VERSION -lt $MAKEINFO_VERSION_REQ then AC_MSG_RESULT([no]) -- Martin Michlmayr Linux for HP Helion OpenStack, Hewlett-Packard -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#761998: Remove valknut from Debian
Hi Maia, * Maia Everett m...@lucidfox.org [2014-09-17 21:49]: Package: valknut Version: 0.4.9-2 This package is old and unmaintained. Version 0.4.9 was released in 2009. See http://wxdcgui.sourceforge.net/ eiskaltdcpp, which is more actively maintained, is a distant fork of valknut and would fit as a proposed replacement. * Vincent Cheng vch...@debian.org [2015-06-28 18:42]: It's worth noting that 0ad build-depends on nvidia-texture-tools in Debian, so we can ignore the embedded copy of nvtt in 0ad's source. Yes, I noticed that after I filde the bug. Would you consider filing this bug report directly upstream [1][2], with your patch (just like you did with nvidia-texture-tools)? I'm not a porter myself and I don't think there's any value in me being a middleman, in case upstream has any questions to ask you etc. Thanks! Package: r-base Version: 3.2.1-1 Severity: serious Tags: patch The build system believes that texi2any's version is 5.1 and will therefore not build the documentation, and then the package fails because the docs are missing. Package: libtheora Version: 1.1.1+dfsg.1-6 Severity: serious Tags: patch libtheora fails to build because of LaTeX errors. (Note that a new texlive entered unstable recently.) Bug#790294: libkpathsea-dev: c-auto.h header missing
* Peter Breitenlohner p...@mppmu.mpg.de [2015-06-28 12:09]: libkpathsea-dev for x86_64 should contain libkpathsea.so, kpathsea/c-auto.h, and pkgconfig/kpathsea.pc, all under, e.g., /usr/lib64/. The package should use pkg-config to get the correct CPPFLAGS. Ok, so this is a bug in the Debian package because c-auto.h isn't anywhere. BTW, I noticed this bug is worse than expected. /usr/include/kpathsea/config.h has a #include kpathsea/c-auto.h so even package that don't #iclude c-auto.h directly may fail. -- Martin Michlmayr Linux for HP Helion OpenStack, Hewlett-Packard -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
