Bug#790229: blackbox: FTBFS with glibc 2.21 and gcc-5

2015-07-07 Thread Martin Michlmayr

thanks

The problem is in libinsighttoolkit3-dev (see bug #777912).
I verified that camitk builds fine with GCC 5 with a locally
fixed vcl_compiler.h.

I suggest to leave this bug open until libinsighttoolkit3-dev is
fixed and then to close it.

Unfortunately, since gofigure2 doesn't build in unstable, I couldn't
check if gofigure2 builds with a fixed vcl_compiler.h header.

I'm lowering the severity of this bug under the assumption that
gofigure2 might build with GCC 5.

Bug#790809: Please enable ARM64 support

2015-07-02 Thread Martin Michlmayr

If there is any way to get a driver for these things (even if not (yet)
via debian non-free) that (is supposed to) work with nvidia-settings, we
could of course enable this by default.

Sorry, I don't know if there's a driver yet.

Bug#790865: FTBFS: Error: Unknown float option `H'.

2015-07-02 Thread Martin Michlmayr
Package: condor
Version: 8.2.8~dfsg.1-1
Severity: serious
Tags: patch

condor fails to build because of the new tetex.

You're using the H float option. According to
https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/LaTeX/Floats,_Figures_and_Captions you
need \usepackage{float} for that, but it seems simpler solution is to
replace it with !h or h.

I have attached one possible patch.

 Comments/Problems:

I followed this tutorial in order to install the system:
 https://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/Allwinner#Installing_from_a_USB_stick
My main disk is a MicroSD card pre-formatted with two partitions: a small one
for boot and a big one for the rest of the system. On this disk I installed
u-boot mainline (https://linux-sunxi.org/Mainline_U-boot) and nothing else.
 This
allowed me to load the rest of the installation system from a usb disk, with
 the
 image for armhf processors.
I had problems launching the system from the usb disk, because u-boot told me
somthing about a ehci timeout. I booted 4 times my board before the
 installation
process started. Maybe this problem is related to my usb disk or something
 missing in u-boot. Boh!
The board does not have a network interface, so I connected a wi-fi adapter to
make the system talk to my private network and Internet. After the reboot I
connected an ethernet adapter, identified. The firmware for my wi-fi network
adapter were found by the installer in the usb memory because I copied them
 here
in a folder called firmware. I don't remember were I took them, but
 probably,
very probably, from my other system: a Lenovo with Debian Jessie
 (/lib/firmware).
The installation process was followed from a serial console and I have to say
that the graphic is not amusing, it's something confusing.

The build error is due to insighttoolkit4 (bug #777913).

I verified that nifti2dicom builds fine with GCC 5 itself (with a
locally fixed vcl_compiler.h header).

I suggest to leave this bug open until #777913 is fixed and then close

Bug#790809: Please enable ARM64 support

2015-07-01 Thread Martin Michlmayr
Package: nvidia-settings
Version: 340.46-2
Severity: wishlist
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: arm64

I wonder whether it makes sense to build nvidia-settings on ARM64.
I don't know anything about this package but I know that 64-bit ARM
Tegra based devices exist with Nvidia chips, so maybe it would be
useful? I see it's enabled for armhf, which is probably a similar
case. I also see that the package has (some?) support for ARM64
(search for AARCH64).

I added arm64 to debian/control and it built fine. I have no way to
test, though.

Bug#775204: mgp: Please update to latest upstream source

2015-07-01 Thread Martin Michlmayr
* Reuben Thomas r...@sc3d.org [2015-01-12 15:16]:
The Debian maintainers may well know better, but I observe that the
latest upstream diff is dated 2012/10/14, so perhaps it’s worth
updating to then? (There were a bunch more changes in 2009 after
the version currently packaged in Debian, then just one diff in each
 of 2010 and 2012.)

This is just to let you know that mgp is orphaned in Debian, meaning
it has no maintainer (see #509644).

If you want to see mgp issues addressed, you could volunteer to be the
new maintainer.

This package is dependent on the proprietary nvidia driver, and
upstream currently only releases it for i386, amd64, and armhf
 (armv7l) [1]. I don't think there's any point in building
nvidia-settings on arm64 until upstream also releases the
corresponding arm64 version of their proprietary driver.

Thanks for the link. I didn't know where to check to see whether
aarch64/arm64 binaries were available already. I know that Tegra
arm64 with Nvidia graphics is shipping already, but not sure about the
driver.

In any case, feel free to close the bug report, or to leave it open
until there are upstream drivers.

While I see your point of not adding more arches, I think everything

Bug#728004: xblast-tnt: diff for NMU version 2.10.4-3.1

2015-06-30 Thread Martin Michlmayr

* Wookey woo...@wookware.org [2014-06-23 10:48]:
This bug has been pending for some time, and needs fixing for new
ports, including arm64 which is building now:

I've prepared an NMU for xblast-tnt (versioned as 2.10.4-3.1) and
uploaded it to DELAYED/7. Please feel free to tell me if I
 should delay it longer.

You wrote a year ago that you uploaded an NMU but it seems this never
made it into the archive.

Could you try it with `strace -o log python3` and send me the logfile?

Does it work outside the chroot (the jessie and sid versions of
 python3-llfuse are identical)?

This is pretty strange. python3 and python3-dbg both work outside the
chroot. Inside the chroot, python3 works, but python3-dbg gives the
error I mentioned.

I've attached the strace. Do you see what's going on?

I assume my chroot is somehow broken. If so, apologies in advance

Bug#761998: Remove valknut from Debian

2015-06-30 Thread Martin Michlmayr
Hi Maia,

* Maia Everett m...@lucidfox.org [2014-09-17 21:49]:
 Package: valknut
 Version: 0.4.9-2

This package is old and unmaintained. Version 0.4.9 was released in
 2009. See http://wxdcgui.sourceforge.net/

eiskaltdcpp, which is more actively maintained, is a distant fork of
valknut and would fit as a proposed replacement.

Can you confirm that you're Maia Kozheva, i.e. the maintainer of this
package is requesting removal?

* Vincent Cheng vch...@debian.org [2015-06-28 18:42]:
 It's worth noting that 0ad build-depends on nvidia-texture-tools in
Debian, so we can ignore the embedded copy of nvtt in 0ad's source.

Yes, I noticed that after I filde the bug.

Would you consider filing this bug report directly upstream [1][2],
with your patch (just like you did with nvidia-texture-tools)? I'm not
a porter myself and I don't think there's any value in me being a
middleman, in case upstream has any questions to ask you etc. Thanks!

Ok, can do.

Bug#790436: FTBFS with new texi2any: 'texi2any' v5.1 or later needed

2015-06-29 Thread Martin Michlmayr
Package: r-base
Version: 3.2.1-1
Severity: serious
Tags: patch

The build system believes that texi2any's version is 5.1 and will
therefore not build the documentation, and then the package fails
because the docs are missing.

LaTeX was updated recently and now we have:

$ texi2any --version
texi2any (GNU texinfo) 6.0

which ./configure believes is smaller than 5.1.

I've attached a patch against configure, although I wonder whether
configure.ac or some other script needs to be patched. Do you know if
that MAKEINFO configure code is r-base specific or does it come from
somewhere else?

Bug#790442: FTBFS with new LaTeX: Unknown float option `H'.

2015-06-29 Thread Martin Michlmayr
Package: libtheora
Version: 1.1.1+dfsg.1-6
Severity: serious
Tags: patch

libtheora fails to build because of LaTeX errors. (Note that a new
texlive entered unstable recently.)

You're using the H float option. According to
https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/LaTeX/Floats,_Figures_and_Captions you
need \usepackage{float} for that, but it seems simpler solution is to
replace it with !h.

Below is a patch that makes the package compile. However, the options
Htbp (or now !htbp) seem very odd to me. Reading
https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/LaTeX/Floats,_Figures_and_Captions
h means exactly h whereas t means top and b bottom and p to put it on
a special page -- which one do you want?

Bug#790294: libkpathsea-dev: c-auto.h header missing

2015-06-29 Thread Martin Michlmayr
* Peter Breitenlohner p...@mppmu.mpg.de [2015-06-28 12:09]:
 libkpathsea-dev for x86_64 should contain libkpathsea.so, kpathsea/c-auto.h,
and pkgconfig/kpathsea.pc, all under, e.g., /usr/lib64/. The package should
use pkg-config to get the correct CPPFLAGS.

Ok, so this is a bug in the Debian package because c-auto.h isn't
anywhere.

BTW, I noticed this bug is worse than expected.
/usr/include/kpathsea/config.h has a
  #include kpathsea/c-auto.h
so even package that don't #iclude c-auto.h directly may fail.

In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to achieve the following:

   * d/control: change to using just plain libmysqlclient-dev to pick up
 latest libmysqlclient on rebuild.

mysql-ocaml fails to build in unstable now because libmysqlclient15-dev
is no longer provided by mysql 5.6. Please apply Clint's patch.
