Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

Using get_mp3tag()

Perl 5.32), passed through in regex; marked by <-- HERE in m/^\??({ <--

Version: 2:12.3+dfsg2-4
Severity: normal

I suggest to replace
  Recommends: libcec2
with
  Recommends: libcec2 (=2.1.4)

(according to
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=169084pid=1463841
2.1.3 should suffice, but I don't think there's a package for that specific
version)

   * What led up to the situation?

Updating xbmc from 2:12.3+dfsg1-3 to 2:12.3+dfsg2-4

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

   Start xbmc

   * What was the outcome of this action?

Bug#690397: Sorry for the duplicate!

2012-10-15 Thread Martin Schuster (IFKL IT OS DC CD)
Sorry, it looks like this bugreport got stuck in my mailqueue; I've sent
it again a week ago, see #689942

So I'd mark this one (#690397) as a duplicate, but haven't figured out
how to do this (http://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control#merge is
scary :)

Bug#689942: Workaround

2012-10-08 Thread Martin Schuster (IFKL IT OS DS CD)
The workaround given in the error message does not work
(MODULES=most is already set), but I managed to get it
working by issuing
# ln -s sda1 /dev/root

(although this is most likely not permanent)

No it is not, to double check use:

 grep -r MODULES /etc/initramfs-tools/

You are right! /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/driver-policy contains

# Driver inclusion policy selected during installation
# Note: this setting overrides the value set in the file
# /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf
MODULES=dep

Changing it to =most also fixed the problem, thanks!

Bug#425438: remove/install seems to help

2007-05-22 Thread Martin Schuster
Just wanted to report that I had the same problem,
and
apt-get remove icedove
rm -rf /usr/lib/icedove (still contained a thunderbird-bin symlink)
apt-get install icedove
helped.

Thanks Alexander!

Bug#425390: above solution worked

2007-05-22 Thread Martin Schuster
Just wanted to report that the solution suggested above (steps 1-6)
worked for me.

I also had installed the tarball before, but then went back to
the 1.5 deb (mostly because some extensions didn't work).
But I'm quite sure I backed up my ~/.mozilla-thunderbird before
installing the tarball, and restored it afterwards *shrugs*

thanks,

Bug#409396: quick fix

2007-03-30 Thread Martin Schuster
It's a feature, not a bug :)

In order to be able to make
check_disk /var/log
work even if /var/log physically resides in /var,
check_disk tries to be clever (and thus tries
to find the free diskspace in /dev if you ask it
for /dev/hda1)
(yes, I know it's a bug nevertheless :)

Workaround: Provide the -E parameter, e.g.
check_disk -E /dev/hda1

Bug#414863: treil: Confusing error-message if path has trailing slash

2007-03-14 Thread Martin Schuster
Package: treil
Version: 0.1-1
Severity: normal

If treil is called with a directory ending with a slash, i.e.
treil -o /tmp/foo.png /usr/local/src/squid/
it just outputs a somewhat confusing error message:
/usr/bin/treil-draw:202: invalid rect format: [...] /usr/local/src/squid/
(ArgumentError)

I've set the prio to normal instead of wishlist, because this
makes the package quite unusable for everyone who is used
to specifying directories with trailing slashes.

Bug#382711: status=0x37 with a Maxtor drive

2006-11-13 Thread Martin Schuster
Hi Jon, Hi Phil, Hello Debian BTS :)

[Jon: Mailing this to you too, I found http://lkml.org/lkml/2006/4/23/63
and thought you might be interested]

Just wanted to report that I have a problem with quite
the same symptoms:
Intel Corporation 82801EB (ICH5) SATA Controller (rev 02)
2 Maxtor 6V250F0 in RAID1
Linux 2.6.17-cks1 with some minor changes

Sometimes (no idea how to trigger this, happens ca. once
per month) I get:

ata1: translated ATA stat/err 0x37/00 to SCSI SK/ASC/ASCQ 0x4/00/00
ata1: status=0x37 { DeviceFault SeekComplete CorrectedError Index Error }

Until now, this usually only resulted in the faulty

an OOPS too:

 Hi Martin

Hi Phil
Thanks for your quick and detailed reply!

I tried swapping the nVidia controller for an ALi one on a PCI card, and
swapping the motherboard for a different one (also with an ALi chipset).
None of these things really seemed to help. If I connected one drive to
the ALi controller and one drive to the nVidia controller then things
were better but still pretty bad.

After that I replaced the two Maxtor drives with a pair of Seagates.
This seemed to improve the situation somewhat but it was still pretty
 flaky

okay, so it was neither the controller, nor the drives.

But the strange thing is that I have an SCSI-Controller with
two SCSI-drives in the same machine, also running RAID1,
and they don't have those problems; so maybe a SATA-RAID1
problem?

Interestingly, though, I do have another amd64 machine

Mine is an P4, btw

More confused than before now :)

Ouch. I go and fetch my I am stoopid-hat, just a sec...

which is also bad, now that I think about it...)

Correct. As far as I can find out in the Web, we really should be matching
only {----} - where x is any alphanumeric
character. Maybe without the last bracket. That would be more than
specific enough that I wouldn't care for anyone hitting a false positive :P

Ok, according to the responsible company:
CLSID [...] refer[s] to a 128-bit integer with a low statistical likelihood
of being duplicated so that it can be used as a unique identifier across
computers and networks. Typically, this identifier is represented either as a
16-member array of bytes or as a specially formatted string of hexadecimal
digits (where the characters a-f, or A-F, represent the decimal numbers
10-15). This string representation consists of either 32 contiguous
hexadecimal digits or of groups of 8, 4, 4, 4, and 12 hexadecimal digits,
separated by hyphens. The hyphenated string representation optionally can be
enclosed in parentheses or braces ({}).

Bug#373159: amavisd-new: Overzealous Windows CLSID regexp

2006-06-13 Thread Martin Schuster
Package: amavisd-new
Version: 1:2.3.3-4
Severity: minor

20-debian_defaults contains the line
qr'\{[0-9a-z]{4,}(-[0-9a-z]{4,}){0,7}\}?'i, # Windows Class ID ext. - CLSID)
which not only matches the intended CLSIDs, but also e.g.
{My Mailinglist} Hello world!
because of the question mark after the closing curly brace.

This is true for amavisd-new 1:2.3.3-4 (the version I'm
using) as well as for 2.4.0-1 (the most current version).

Fix: remove the question mark.

Another bug is the unmatched closing parenthesis in the comment,
but I don't think this deserves an own bug report :)

which not only matches the intended CLSIDs, but also e.g.
 {My Mailinglist} Hello world!
because of the question mark after the closing curly brace.

I cannot reproduce this here, amavisd-new 2.4.1 (same regexp).

How did you try to reproduce this?
I found that error because of an email with an attachment with filename
{there was some text} - and some more text.ics
which got blocked.

Also, you can test this easily by calling
perl -ne 'print ouch\n if (/\{[0-9a-z]{4,}(-[0-9a-z]{4,}){0,7}\}?/i);'
and then type some filenames you want to test.

Also, that last ? will apply only to the preceding '}' character anyway.

Which creates a problem, because in
{something foo bar}
^^ this part is enough to match, i.e. the regexp right now
works exactly as if it just was
\{[0-9a-z]{4,}
because the rest is
(...){0,7}\}? which matches an empty string

You can verify this with the above perl-command, try to input
{Something
and it will print ouch.

(without the question mark, it will still match
{SomeCharactersWithoutSpacesOrStuff}
which is also bad, now that I think about it...)

Another bug is the unmatched closing parenthesis in the comment,
but I don't think this deserves an own bug report :)

Well, I will fix this one :P

Thanks :)

Bug#329746: simple workaround

2006-06-07 Thread Martin Schuster
Hope this helps if someone has the same problem:

After getting the above error, put an
exit 0
in the second line of /etc/init.d/ntp-server

Then do an
dpkg --configure -a
which should then happily configure ntp-simple,
thus creating the user

Afterwards, remove the exit-statement from the
initscript,
/etc/init.d/ntp-server start
and everything should be fine :)

Package: apt-listchanges

If the listed changes contain non-7bit-clean characters (like e.g. in

RFC2045-clean, and some mailservers (e.g. courier) are not happy
about this.

Example: The changes in nagios contain a line

Bug#348489: phpmyadmin: Features requiring pma_* tables are broken

2006-01-17 Thread Martin Schuster
Package: phpmyadmin
Version: 4:2.7.0-pl2-1
Severity: normal

The phpmyadmin-features requiring an extra database (which can be
created with /usr/share/doc/phpmyadmin/scripts/create_tables.sql.gz)
don't work anymore

Reproduce:
Activate this feature by calling the above mentioned script, and
uncommenting at least the following two lines in
/etc/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php:
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['pmadb'] = 'phpmyadmin';
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['relation']  = 'pma_relation';

Then click on any table, which should give you the [Structure]; there is
a link Relation view; upon clicking on this one, you'll get

Error
SQL query:
SELECT master_field, foreign_db, foreign_table, foreign_field
FROM `pma_relation`
WHERE master_db = 'foo'
AND master_table = 'bar'
MySQL said:
#1146 - Table 'foo.pma_relation' doesn't exist

Expected result:
phpmyadmin should have issued
SELECT master_field, foreign_db, foreign_table, foreign_field
FROM `phpmyadmin.pma_relation`
[...]

I had this problem on three different machines, where those advanced
features worked before (i.e. with phpmyadmin 4:2.6.4-pl4-2), so I guess
it's not just some stupid error on my side... :)

Can you reproduce the segfault using the example script from:

 http://www.php.net/mysql_fetch_field

This is what I used to test that the bug was fixed, and it does indeed
work for me. Perhaps what you are seeing is another bug that looks like
this one (say, a clash between two apache modules linked with different
 mysql libs, resulting in segfaults?)

If you could test both from the command-line and via apache (or wherever
it is you're seeing the bug), that would be great. Also, make sure you've
restarted apache (or whatever) after the php4/php4-mysql upgrade.

Got the segfault via apache, but not on the commandline.
We run apache2 in a chroot, so right now I'm checking all differences
to the real / again (only /etc and /var differ, but I'll look into
every file again...)

Right now I'm quite busy though, visiting all parts of the family
for easter, so I'll report back maybeo Monday or Tuesday.

Have a nice Sunday,

Bug#285256: mylast: Should have Read The Fine FAQ

2005-02-02 Thread Martin Schuster
The FAQ at http://nostatic.org/grip/doc/ar01s05.html says:
Q: The progress bar doesn't seem to be completely accurate when
encoding. Why can't it get it right?
A: The progress bar is done based on the size of the output file. If you
have the kbits/sec set properly, Grip should estimate the size properly.
Note that if you use variable bitrate encoding (supported by encoders
like LAME and xing) Grip has no way to accurately guess the file size.

And that explains it; I use lame ... -V %b ... as encoding command,
and then use e.g. 5 as bitrate *cough*

I guess the problem with FLAC is the same; more info, Aaron?
