Bug#399756: any progress
reopen 399756 thanks Hi James I still think wordpress-mu would be a nice addition to debian. Reopening the rfp as there's interest from you as well. We've been making do ok with the regular debian package, in our case running 30 wordpress instances from the one codebase. That said, for the reasons I mentioned above (especially better theme and plugin separation between blogs) the mu version would work better. Currently users of wordress instances we host can switch to other people's customised themes, which is not ideal (it doesn't cause problems but would be cleaner if they weren't visible). Bug#500295: wordpress: Fix creates problems for sym-linked config files
Package: wordpress Version: 2.8.4-1 Followup-For: Bug #500295 This upgrade broke all of our wordpress instances, as the config files for each site are sym-linked from /etc/wordpress to separate locations for each site. Perhaps there is a better way of fixing this injection vulnerability that still allows sym-linked config files? If not, then at a minimum users should be notified of the change before the upgrade (news?) so breakages can be avoided. Bug#399756: RFP: wordpress-mu -- framework for hosting large numbers of wordpress weblogs
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 > Could you care to list the "number of features of wordpress mu that > make it quite distinct"? Sure :-) When it comes to the actual blogging, it is basically the same software. What MU offers is more architectural - it is specifically designed for hosting operations who want to run lots of blogs on the same instance: 1. It streamlines the process for adding new blogs to an install. No server-side access is required, since new blogs are added to the same database (as a new set of tables). 2. Consequently, it is possible to allow end-users to create their own blog as a subdomain, e.g., myblog.example.com, or subdirectory example.com/myblog, with pre-defined settings, using a simple sign-up form. This makes it possible to scale to thousands of blogs, with almost no effort to the server administrator beyond initially configuring wordpress MU. 3. It allows for better separation between different blogs being hosted on the same server - you can choose which themes are available to each blog, have default sets of themes users can choose between, etc. There's more no doubt, but I only just started playing with Wordpress MU and my first thought was "this looks great, there should be a .deb" :-) Thanks Matthew -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFFZJ7sAK4c1sM4iCURAryYAJ9kvc9UkLOQUwpeXuBRy0jy3OR9fACg7Y6X rMkMt46UODuvUEhcSJO5fzo= =lXsK -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#397968: iptables: comments broken

Hi Sean Sure, if that's where the problem is go ahead and close this. Not really knowing how pear works I didn't realise the problem was with APC and not pecl itself. I'll persue this upstream. Bug#312966: iptables man page: fix mport description
Greetings. The problem with the iptables man page has not been resolved. I stumbled across this bug after reading the man page and trying to use the mport option: # iptables -A OUTPUT -p tcp -m mport --dports http, https, ftp -j proc-out iptables v1.3.5: Couldn't load match `mport':/lib/iptables/libipt_mport.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Try `iptables -h' or 'iptables --help' for more information. Please reopen, and if - as this suggests - mport has been removed upstream, then please remove the reference to it from the man page. Bug#325104: fixed?

OK, thanks for the clarification Michael :-) I noticed (with slight concern) apt telling me that my updates were about to remove over 60 MB, which seemed a little unusual. I ended up unpacking the new .deb locally to check nothing vital was missing before I found this report and then went ahead with updating our server. Even though the original issue isn't fixed, I think it would still be worth a note in the changelogs that the CVS directories have been removed, substantially reducing the installed size, just to save others similar concern. Bug#318351: still present in skippy 0.5.1rc1-4
- window manager is Gnome 2.10 (up to date packages from testing) - it happens when firefox is closed - it happens when i launch skippy after everything else is open, and if I launch skippy first. - i do see the windows flip in the taskbar, but here's a clue: only windows open in the application that currently has the focus come to the foreground when the shots of each window are being taken, e.g. different evolution windows / different nautilus windows. While the focus appears to go to other apps in the taskbar, the windows are not coming to the front on the screen. Then when the overview is displayed, only the images of those windows that came to the front during flipping are correct, the others display an image of whatever was above those windows. i've also tried it with completely different applications running, and it still happens. i'll send you some more screen shots to demonstrate clearly what i'm describing above. i hope that helps - let me know if you want me to try anything else, or send you copies of any of my config files - i don't know what might be of use to you. best wishes matthew On Thu, 2006-01-12 at 23:37 +0100, Niv Altivanik wrote: > I see, > > I couldn't reproduce the bug. > > - What's your Window Manager ? > - Does it only happen when Firefox is oppened ? > - Does it happen if you launch skippy when everything else is already > opened ? > - Do you see the windows fliping when you press the skippy key ? > > Thanks for your cooperation. > Regards, -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#318351: still present in skippy 0.5.1rc1-4
Unfortunately the bug I'm seeing isn't the refresh issue, but that skippy isn't grabbing images of the correct windows at all. Instead, skippy seems to be grabbing an image of the section of the screen above the window. I will send you a screenshot. This isn't helped by activating the autoRefresh in ~/.skippyrc as mentioned in /usr/share/doc/skippy/README.Debian as you suggest. Bug#335404: RFP: php4-apc -- Caches and optimises PHP scripts to improve performance
Additional info regarding this RFP: APC (version 1) was previously a debian package, removed when development stalled: http://bugs.debian.org/219571 http://lists.debian.org/debian-qa/2004/01/msg00156.html There are licencing concerns around the only similar package in Debian, mmcache, and development has now stopped on that too: http://lists.debian.org/debian-legal/2005/01/msg00130.html APC Version 3 seems to be in active development, with support for PHP5. It would be great if this could be packaged for debian. I am contacting the current maintainer of mmcache. Matthew -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
