Bug#1069743: keepassxc does not support hardware keys, need to use keepassxc-full
Package: keepassxc Version: 2.7.7+dfsg.1-2 Followup-For: Bug #1069743 I see that my initial report got hijacked into a keepassxc should be keepassxc-full issue. This is NOT what the original bug report is about, the split was mentioned in the NEWS file, so this is not my concern. BUT if this is seen as issue, it should be a different report. The original issue is simply, that in the hardened package, hardware key support should imho still be present, as it enhances security of the keepass DB, rather then compromising it (as networking, ... does). I am not fimiliar with the keepass code, maybe hardware key support does open up an additional attack vector, which is not obvious. br m
Bug#1069743: keepassxc does not support hardware keys, need to use keepassxc-full
Package: keepassxc Version: 2.7.7+dfsg.1-2 Severity: important Hi, first of all thank you very much for packaging keepassxc for Debian! I am aware of the split of keepassxc and keepassxc-full and the idea is great, to have a real network-less password manager. But since the upgrade to version 2.7.7+dfsg.1-2 I am not able to use my keepass database, as it is secured with a hardware key (YubiKey). It seems since the split, keepassxc does not detect those either, which makes it impossible to open the database. If this is intentional, please close the issue, but it would still be beneficial to have the isolated keepass working with a hardware key. Everything works fine with keepass-full. Bug#970395: firmware-nonfree: Please add AMD-SEV firmware files (amd-folder) to close CVE-2019-9836 on specific EPYC-CPUs
Source: firmware-nonfree Severity: important Dear maintainer, first of all thanks for maintaining and packaging the linux-firmware files repository as debian packages. We currently need to manually obtain the linux-firmware.git:amd/amd_sev_fam17h_model3xh.sbin [1] file on our AMD EPYC servers. The firmware files containing the AMD SEV firmware closing security vulnerabilities [2] and fixes bugs and adds improvements to the AMD SEV implementation. I'm most likely unqualified for legal questions but the LICENSE.amd-sev [3] reads quite similar to the already added amdgpu license [4]. So I hope this is not the reason, why those files were not added in the past. The severity was choosen because it fixes a security vulnerability, please change accordingly if you think it is wrong. Thanks in advance. Bug#826944: apt-get update: 'Failed to stat ... TransactionState-stat' with deb-src line in sources.list
Package: apt Version: 1.2.12 Severity: important Hi, if I add a deb-src line (see sources.list at the end) apt-get update reports an error: # E: Failed to stat /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/ftp.debian.org_debian_dists_testing_InRelease - pkgAcqTransactionItem::TransactionState-stat (2: No such file or directory) # W: Duplicate sources.list entry ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian testing Release I have commented all other source.list entries, and moved sources.list.d. The error still occurs with the two single lines: # deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian testing main non-free contrib # deb-src ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian testing main non-free contrib Afterwards i can still use apt, but my apt-pinning is broken (should be 900 but falls back to default 500), so I am not sure if the apt cache is consistent. If I remove the deb-src lines, everything works as expected, no error message, apt-pinning works fine. What can I do to help do debug the issue? Bug#753297: apt list --upgradable gives lot of false positives: possible solution
Package: apt Version: 1.0.6 Followup-For: Bug #753297 Hi all, for me the problem (listing packages as upgradable if they are not) occurs for all packages, which have a newer version in an archive with lower APT:Pinning score. Bug#707653: grub2-common: After Grub 2.00-14 upgrade, system failed to boot (rescue, old grub 1.99 still in mbr)
Package: grub2-common Version: 2.00-14 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system Hi, after upgrading grub from version 1.99-27.1 - 2.00-14 [1] the system was not able to boot. On reboot the grub rescue' prompt was displayed. After # grub rescue set prefix=(hdX,)/boot/grub/grub2 # grub rescue insmod normal # grub rescue normal the normal grub prompt was back, and there was still version 1.99-27 installed. After another reboot i did: # grub rescue set root=(hdX,Y)/boot # grub rescue set prefix=(hdX,)/boot/grub/grub2 # grub rescue insmod part_msdos # grub rescue insmod ext2 # grub rescue insmod linux # grub rescue linux /boot/vmlinuz-3.8-1-amd64 root=/dev/sdaX # grub rescue initrd /boot/initrd.img-3.8-1-amd64 # grub rescue boot so I was able to start the system. After normal system start, I ran: # grub-install /dev/sda # update-grub afterwards the system booted normally, grub was welcoming me now with version 2.00. It seems to me, that the grub-install, or whatever mechanism is used internally to write the new grub, was not run on upgrade. Bug#581409: plasma-widgets-addons: Picture frame ignores directory symlinks in recursive mode
Package: plasma-widgets-addons Version: 4:4.4.3-1 Severity: normal Tags: patch Hi there, if I add a directory to the picture frame for the slideshow, all subdirectories which are symlinks are ignored, normal directories are included and the contained pictures are shown. This behaviour is new in version 4.4.3, the debian version of 4.3.4 (4:4.3.4-1) has shown all pictures from symlink subdirectories. Added a path which restores the old (and in my opinion correct) behaviour. So please add SVN commit 1033984, as mentioned in comment #9 in the upstream bugreport [2], to fix that error. So please replace patch 01_r1032787_khtml_show_hide_fix.diff, with the new attached one. Bug#547571: kdemultimedia-kio-plugins: incomplete support for mixed mode (audio/data) cd's
Package: kdemultimedia-kio-plugins Version: 4:4.3.1-1 Severity: normal Hi there, if I put a mixed mode CD into my drive and open it up with dolphin, I only see the data part of the cd. There should be an option to select the data or audio part or integrate both views into one or show two different mediums (I would favour the last option). Playing the audio cd with kscd works fine, so it seems that kdemultimedia recognizes also the audio part. But I don't have the nice ripping options in dolphin, that's a little bit annoying. Hopefully we can see a support for that in a future release. Bug#547571: kdemultimedia-kio-plugins: incomplete support for mixed mode (audio/data) cd's
I just found out, that if I type into the dolphin-address-line 'audiocd:/' manually, I get the audio support in dolphin back. Maybe a 'graphical' way to use the audio capabilities would be nice. So it's fine for me, if you guys wanna change the severity level to 'wishlist'. Regards Michael -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#541145: grub-pc: menu and kernels load extremely slow

After installing the new version to the mbr with grub-install /dev/sda, it takes nearly a minute to load the menu and then an other minute to load the kernel. During this time I can hear a strange very regular clicking/beeping sound from my hard disk as if the head is repeating the same motion over and over again. Hi there, I have the same problem as Kevin, grub needs an extreme long time until the menu is loaded, and after the selection the waiting goes on. The only thing I can think of which might affect this is the switch from ascii.pf2 to the unicode font unicode.pf2 Try changing the font back in grub.cfg to ascii.pf2. But that shouldn't affect loading of the kernel. I changed that for testing purpose, but there was no difference to the unicode version. Any other suggestions? This behaviour dissapears completely if I disable the new metacity compositing_manager. So, if i do a gconftool-2 -s --type bool /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager true the problem exists, if i do gconftool-2 -s --type bool /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager false the problem is gone. hth Michael -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#472624: fails to start: elisa silently dies
Loïc Minier schrieb: On Tue, Mar 25, 2008, Michael Musenbrock wrote: After upgrading to the latest version of elisa, the packages seems to be unusable. Does it help to install python-setuptools? The package python-setuptools was already installed. So that seems not to be a good starting point. But, for a short time i was able to use elisa. Last week I added an external TV Screen and changed my xorg.conf to use the second monitor, (seperate X Server) and after that i was able to use elisa, but only on my lcd not on the tv screen. But for now, elisa shows the same behaviour, also with tv screen connected. I will have a look at it, if i've some time left this week and play a little bit with the settings and maybe i can determine the xorg-settings on wich elisa (or pigment) fail or/and work. Bug#472624: fails to start: elisa silently dies
Package: elisa Version: 0.3.5-2 Followup-For: Bug #472624 So, can you give any informations on which config it does work? For me, it does not work with no config, this means also on clean installs. And it does not work with my old config (which was, as far as i know, an untouched one from the old version in unstable). And so, if this version will go to lenny, the package will be unusable for all stable users, which will entirely install this with no config, so I think this bugs severity should still be grave. I've found my old elisa config ~/.elisa on my backups, should I add it to this bug report or start a new one, which reports upgrading problems from the old version? Package: elisa Version: 0.3.5-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable After upgrading to the latest version of elisa, the packages seems to be unusable. First after upgrade, I run elisa, got a splash screen, and then elisa dies. From console I got some WARN's like, couldn't bind backend1, couldn't bind frontend1. Then I read in bugreport 471640 to do a dpkg-reconfigure elisa and rm -rf ~/.elisa . Package: gnome-terminal Version: 2.22.0-1 Severity: normal gnome-terminal has some resizing problems when opening and closing tabs. 1. Open terminal window - 80x24 terminal 2. Close Tab - terminal keeps 79x21, whole windows shrinks, because tab bar disappears 4. Open Tab - terminal is now 78x18, whole window shrinks 5. Close Tab - terminal keeps 78x18, tab bar disap. 6. Open Tab - keeps 78x18, tab bar added and so on Terminal size doesn't go down under 78x18. The closing tab things works as expected (keeps terminal size and remove tab bar). I give you an example for better understanding: ls /my/ 2xtab -- works ls /my/folder 2xtab -- works ls /my/folder/some\ subfolder/ 2xtab -- does not work any more And, as far as I know, filepath completion isn't done (or were not be done yet) by sourcing /etc/bash_completion in, so all in all, this type of completion shouldn't get affected by a new /etc/bash_completion, which is the only real thing, what this new package is updating. I attach the last 100 lines form the strace output, maybe it helps someone. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.19.2 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages trackballs depends on: ii guile-1.6-libs 1.6.8-6 Main Guile libraries ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.1.1-21 GCC support library ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl1]6.5.1-0.5A free implementation of the OpenG ii libglu1-mesa [libglu1] 6.5.1-0.5The OpenGL utility library (GLU) ii libguile-ltdl-1 1.6.8-6 Guile's patched version of libtool ii libqthreads-12 1.6.8-6 QuickThreads library for Guile ii libsdl-image1.2 1.2.5-3 image loading library for Simple D ii libsdl-mixer1.2 1.2.6-1.1+b2 mixer library for Simple DirectMed ii libsdl-ttf2.0-0 2.0.8-3+b1 ttf library for Simple DirectMedia ii libsdl1.2debian 1.2.11-7 Simple DirectMedia Layer ii libstdc++6 4.1.1-21 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii trackballs-data 1.1.2-1 Data files for trackballs ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-13 compression library - runtime Versions of packages trackballs recommends: ii trackballs-music 1.2-1 Soundtrack for Trackballs -- no debconf information brk(0x8574000) = 0x8574000 brk(0x8564000) = 0x8564000 write(16, [EMAIL PROTECTED]..., 516) = 516 close(16) = 0 munmap(0xb716f000, 4096)= 0 write(3, \33\1\2\0\0\0\0\0 \0\2\0\0\0\0\0+\0\1\0, 20) = 20 read(3, \5\1\216\0\366\252\233M\0\0\0\17\0`\2\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0..., 32) = 32 read(3, \1\1\221\0\0\0\0\0\16\0`\2\4\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\4\0\0\0\360..., 32) = 32 write(3, \207\0\1\0, 4) = 4 read(3, \1\0\222\0\0\0\0\0\2\0\2\0\247\353\311\267\4\0\0\0\220..., 32) = 32 write(3, \207\16\2\0\2\0\1\0\207\1\2\0\0\0\0\0, 16) = 16 read(3, \1\352\224\0\5\0\0\0\340\245\1\0x\5\240\205\20\206\210..., 32) = 32 read(3, \0\0\0\2000\360\232\0100\344\211\10\30\31\0\0\0\0\0\0, 20) = 20 ioctl(3, FIONREAD, [0]) = 0 write(3, \f\16\7\0\r\0`\2\17\0\2\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0x\5\0\0\32\4\0..., 52) = 52 read(3, \26\270\225\0\r\0`\2\r\0`\2\322Q \2\0\0\0\0x\5\32\4\0\0..., 32) = 32 ioctl(3, FIONREAD, [64])= 0 read(3, \23Q\227\0\r\0`\2\r\0`\2\1\0\1\10\30\31\0\0\360%\34\10..., 64) = 64 write(3, [EMAIL PROTECTED])\4\6..., 52) = 52 read(3, \1\0\233\0\0\0\0\0\2\0\2\0\247\353\311\267\4\0\0\0\0\0..., 32) = 32 write(3, \207\16\2\0\2\0\1\0\207\1\2\0\0\0\0\0, 16) = 16 read(3, \1\352\235\0\5\0\0\0\340\245\1\0x\5\240\205\20\206\210..., 32) = 32 read(3, \0\0\0\2000\360\232\0100\344\211\10\30\31\0\0\0\0\0\0, 20) = 20 write(3, \207\0\1\0, 4) = 4 read(3, \1\0\236\0\0\0\0\0\2\0\2\0\247\353\311\267\4\0\0\0\220..., 32) = 32 write(3, \207\16\2\0\2\0\1\0\207\6\2\0\0\0\0\0, 16) = 16 read(3, \1\344\240\0\250\0\0\0\16\0\0\\344\211\10\30\31\0\0..., 32) = 32 read(3, \340\245\1\0x\5\240\205\20\206\210\6\0\0\0\0\32\4\32\4..., 48) = 48 read(3, \340\245\1\0 \3\240\205\20\206\210\6\0\0\0\0X\2\32\4\35..., 48) = 48 read(3, \340\245\1\0\200\2\240\205\20\206\210\6\0\0\0\0\340\1\32..., 48) = 48 read(3, \340\245\1\0\200\2\240\205\20\206\210\6\0\0\0\0^\1\32\4..., 48) = 48 read(3, \340\245\1\0\200\2\240\205\20\206\210\6\0\0\0\0\220\1\32..., 48) = 48 read(3, \340\245\1\0\320\2\240\205\20\206\210\6\0\0\0\0\220\1\32..., 48) = 48 read(3, \340\245\1\0\0\4\240\205\20\206\210\6\0\0\0\0\0\3\32\4..., 48) = 48 read(3, \340\245\1\0\200\4\240\205\20\206\210\6\0\0\0\0`\3\32\4..., 48) = 48 read(3, \340\245\1\0\0\5\240\205\20\206\210\6\0\0\0\0\300\3\32..., 48) = 48 read(3, \340\245\1\0\0\5\240\205\20\206\210\6\0\0\0\0\0\4\32\4..., 48) = 48 read(3, [EMAIL PROTECTED]..., 48) = 48 read(3, \340\245\1\0\0\5\240\205\20\206\210\6\0\0\0\0\0\3\32\4..., 48) = 48 read(3, \340\245\1\0\0\5\240\205\20\206\210\6\0\0\0\0 \3\32\4\35..., 48) = 48 read(3, \340\245\1\0\200\4\240\205\20\206\210\6\0\0\0\0\0\3\32..., 48) = 48 write(3, \207\0\1\0, 4) = 4 read(3, \1\0\241\0\0\0\0\0\2\0\2\0\247\353\311\267\4\0\0\0\220..., 32) = 32
