Bug#984498: libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37: Performance issue on 4k screen
Package: libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37 Version: 2.31.90-1 Severity: important Tags: upstream Dear Maintainer, I'm doing this report because since long time, I'm suffering of big performance issue with this package. As many software are using this librairy (Gnome Web, Element, Revolt, Evolution, ...), I consider this bug grave as those performances almost kill those apps. Writting a simple text in simply not bearable (~300ms to have letter to appear in a mail reply) and about 40% of one CPU core usage on Gen6 i7. I tested with testing and experimental package and issue remain the same. It seems my laptop with a poor resolution (1366x768) doesn't suffering of this issue. I'm not sure this is relevant, but my current configuration is : - 4k/60hz screen running on Nvidia GTX 1660 SUPER with proprietary drivers. - I was not suffering about this issue on stable Buster but appeared suddently with newer Gnome version (around 3.38.0). Thanks for your help. Bug#807588: libapache2-mod-auth-ntlm-winbind: failed to write NTLMSSP string to helper - wrote 0 bytes
Thanks for the update, For strange reason, the bug disappeared since I installed libapache2-mod-php5 (strange isn't?). I don't know what is related to this module, but now my authentication is working very well. Regarding security, we use NTLM in internal network only, I already tried to use libapache2-mod-auth-kerb, but seems much more complicated to use. Anyway, thanks for your answer, I suggest this ticket can be closed. Regards. Bug#629155: Small update
it seems that's the issue is not coming from the sane-utils package. For the Debian update, I changed the computer : - With the new computer : It own an ATI USB Controler and I thing the bug is comming from the kernel or Bios. I tried sane-utils from a live CD (squeeze) to be sure my computer setup is right, and same issue. - With the old computer : I tried with a live CD (same squeeze) and there is no problem. The old computer as a VIA USB Controler. So I don't know if this request can be transfered to the right team, but the sane-utils package is not the right package.
Bug#629155: update
Hi, Thanks for your reply. Please find bellow all steps I made : * dmesg or syslog doesn't provide anything usefull (nothing) when I run the scanimage command. * My system as the latest kernel, I've also tried kernel 2.6.38 from debian backports. * I've updated my HP computer with the latest BIOS version : about this, just after the update, I was able to scan, but scanner detection was very slow (about 30 seconds until the scanner starts, normaly it starts immediately). But strange now, it's not working anymore. * Since BIOS update, debug scanimage give a error obtaining child information: Inappropriate ioctl for device. * I've tried of course other usb port. * I've connected USB hard drive, USB keyboard and USB UPS, and all is working fine. If this can help you, I can give you an access on the computer on SSH (with a live CD and or Debian installed from scratch). Thanks Olivier.
