Bug#752234: bluefish: Misconfigured Chromium start command name in Bluefish config

2014-06-21 Thread Robert Derochette
Package: bluefish
Version: 2.2.6-1
Severity: normal

Hi!

I couldn't figure out why the Chromium browser option didn't work for me to
test my html. The default browser is Iceweasel but both can be enabled.

The problem is just that Bluefish is configured to call chromium-browser
whereas Chromium is started with the command chromium in Sid. So if I correct
the command, Chromium works correctly now.

Thanks for your great work !

Regards,

Robert Derochette

Bug#746956: phpmyadmin: phpMyAdmin configuration storage is not completely configured message (fix explained)

2014-05-04 Thread Robert Derochette
Package: phpmyadmin
Version: 4:4.1.14-1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Hi !

Every time I started phpMyAdmin (http://localhost/phpmyadmin/) I got the
following message:

phpMyAdmin configuration storage is not completely configured, some
functionality were disabled. To see the reason, click here. (it's displayed in
french on my box so I roughly translated it). I Googled a bit about this
message and found a workaround. The problem that PMA's config file is located
in /etc/phpmyadmin but PMA expects it in /usr/share/phpmyadmin.

The workaround consists in creating /usr/share/config.inc.php with the content
:

 require /etc/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php

Thanks for your work !

Bug#703051: [ntfs-3g] Allows special character ? in filenames (Prohibited by Windows)

2013-03-14 Thread Robert Derochette

Package: ntfs-3g
Version: 1:2013.1.13AR.1-1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Hi!

With ntfs-3g I can put ? in filenames which is allowed with Linux (and
MacOSX btw) but NOT with Windows, as Windows confuses that symbol with
the joker which replaces a random character.

I think ntfs-3g should respect the Windows file System constrainsts to
make it coherent with Windows.

I'm pretty sure I found the problem: I had the same issue and after a
bit of debugging I found that /usr/lib/icedove/chrome.manifest is
missing. As a result, the libmozgnome.so component is not loaded, so the
system settings are not read.

Attached is a patch which fixes this problem.

Cheers,

Bug#658479: icedove: Unable to open links in a html mail with Icedove

2012-02-03 Thread Robert Derochette
Package: icedove
Version: 3.1.16-1
Severity: important

Hello !

As the subject says, I cannot click on an html link and be redirected to my
browser. I encountered the same problem a long time ago with thunderbird
0.7.1-3 (see #363894). When I click on a link, I'm prompted to choose the
program I want to use to open the link and I can't choose neither iceweasel nor
chromium.

I've thus reverted to an older working version for the time being
(3.1.16-1).

Thank you for the time !

Robert Derochette

Bug#462638: kstart --iconify kwifimanager does not start kwifimanager iconified

2008-01-26 Thread Robert Derochette
Package: kwifimanager
Version: 4:3.5.8-1
Severity: minor

Hi !

Since I've upgraded KDE to 4.0 from experimental which is now in Sid (so now I
use a mix of 3.5 / 4.0), the command kstart
--iconify kwifimanager does not start kwifimanager iconified anymore. The
window appears with its normal size.

This is a bit annoying because I use this command to start kwifimanager
iconified in order to display my WiFi signal stength
in the notification area.

kstart --version outputs the following :

Qt: 4.3.3
KDE: 4.00.00 (KDE 4.0.0)
KStart: kstart version 1.92

For information, kstart --iconify icedove works correctly and also kstart
--iconify konqueror, given my konqueror is still at
version 3.5.8. So I tend to conclude the problem seems specific to kwifimanager
and not to a general behavior of kstart 4.0.0
with KDE 3.5 applications.

Thanks for any help and keep up the good work Debian KDE Team :-)

Regards,

Robert Derochette.

Bug#399090: Unable to burn a MP3/CUE Audio CD on the fly (because of wodim ?)

2006-11-17 Thread Robert Derochette
Package: k3b
Version: 0.12.17-3
Severity: normal

Hello !

I have a mp3/cue Audio CD Image ready to burn. When I try to burn it with k3b,
in DAO mode, k3b
displays On the fly writing is not supported with cdrecord version 2.01a13.
I am wondering if this
is not a bug that could be caused by k3b checking wodim version (1.0 ?) instead
of cdrecord version. A
quick search on google reveals that cdrecord 2.01a13 has been released on 2003,
so I suppose wodim
version is at least cdrecord 2.01a13. If you check k3b advanced configuration
(as root), you'll see
that cdrecord version is 1.0pre1.

Thanks for any help !

Robert Derochette

Bug#392581: Version 0.8-4.2 is automatically deleted by aptitude

2006-10-12 Thread Robert Derochette

Package: libnss-mdns

Severity: important

Hello !

In aptitude libnss-mdns version 0.8-4.2 is automatically selected by
aptitude as a package that can be
deleted because there are no package that depend on this lib. However,
it took me 3 days to figure out
that this library is used by most programs that connect to the internet
and use DNS resolving.

For example, I can cite : firefox and thunderbird (if ipv6 dns
resolution are enabled, which is case
by default), xchat, telnet, whois, and even more, reportbug and apt-get
(also aptitude) !!!

I saw when reporting the bug that a new version was available in
incoming, but as I could see

that bug nowhere, I reported it anyway.

Bug#390188: Google Earth is very slow since mesa 6.5 with open source r300 drivers

2006-09-29 Thread Robert Derochette
Package: libgl1-mesa-glx
Version: 6.5.1-0.1
Severity: normal

Hi !

I know I should not report about programs that are not in Debian. Anyway here
is the problem. Before libgl1-mesa-glx entered sid, I tried several cvs builds
of libgl1-mesa-glx from
experimental. Every time I started Google Earth with those experimental builds,
Google Earth became very very slow (like 1 or 2 FPS). Downgrading to mesa 6.4
in Sid always solved the
problem. Now that mesa 6.5 is stable and in Sid, the problem with Google earth
is still there.

My machine is an IBM/Lenovo thinkpad R52. The 3D accelerator is an ATI r300.
Note that I've just installed the latest build of Google Earth and the problem
persists.

Thanks for any help !

This looks like an ATAPI device. Correct?

Could you try using it trough /dev/hdX instead?

Could you run wodim -scanbus?

This is not wodim. You are confusing something. This looks like the
previous version of cdrecord in Debian which indeed had the described
problem.

No, this is a wodim command ;-)

Is the disk mounted? Do you have write permissions to this device? Check
with ls -la /dev/sg0. Does lsof command display anything suspicious?

Bug#365056: cdrecord fails with k3b but succeeds when called directly

2006-04-27 Thread Robert Derochette
Package: k3b
Version: 0.12.15-1
Severity: grave

Hi,

I have submitted the same bug report to KDE bugzilla, and I have been told to
report the bug here. Full text of what I have
reported is available here : http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126356 . In
short, I can't burn a CD with k3b, and get an error
message Input/Output error (unimportant error) is displayed twice then k3b
ejects the CD and I have a coaster. Full error log is
displayed in the KDE bugzilla.

Something I did not tell to KDE bugzilla is that I successfully burnt the CD
image using cdrecord directly.

Regards,

Robert Derochette
