Bug#1024837: lokalize: Issues displaying po files

2022-11-26 Thread Silvério Santos
Package: lokalize
Version: 4:21.12.3-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

After opening a po file through File, Open or from a project there are issues
in the surface's behavior, mainly in refreshing content:
- only the translation list's upper half (or less, also cut a part of the line)
is updated when scrolling,
- msgid and msgstr are changed only with a few seconds of delay
  - after selection in the translation list
  - or when editing,
- the cursor is not appearing at all, although text input is accepted when
typing

Sometimes it helps moving the mouse pointer over the msgid or msgstr areas to
get its content updated.

Other tabs are not affected, only opened po files.

When starting Lokalize from the command line, to get informative output,
without parameters or with the platform parameter option working best:

`lokalize -platform wayland`

the following is shown:

QSocketNotifier: Can only be used with threads started with QThread
QStatusBar::insertWidget: Index out of range (5), appending widget

Bug#990087: kwin-wayland: Context menu does not appear in applications when no image selected as background on Plasma Wayland

2021-06-20 Thread Silvério Santos
Package: kwin-wayland
Version: 4:5.20.5-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

To recreate the problem:
Configure a unicolor background for the Plasma Wayland background.
Open an application, e.g. KMyMoney, right-click for a context menu, but it is
invisible.

The context menu appears in the same application, when:
- either running KDE with XWindow,
- or with Wayland, but with an image as the background,
- or with Wayland, first configure an image, then switch back to unicolor.

Bug#985197: kwin-wayland: Drag and drop a file in Dolphin makes KDE Plasma Wayland crash

2021-03-14 Thread Silvério Santos
Package: kwin-wayland
Version: 4:5.20.5-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Since the update to KDE Plasma 5.20 Dolphin makes the whole session crash,
displaying the login screen instead of completing the following process:
1. Grab a .ly file
2. Drag it to a subfolder
3. Before reaching the subfolder, the session is closed and the SDDM login
screen is displayed. This also happens when trying to drag outside of the file
list to avoid hovering over other files and sometimes when dragging the file
over a file information popup.

Bug#978621: pipewire: Drag and drop a file in Dolphin makes pipewire crash KDE Plasma Wayland

2021-02-22 Thread Silvério Santos
Dear Sjoerd,

Initially the journal recorded a crash of pipewire when the grapical UI
crashed.
When I tried to move a file today I noticed 2 things: now it only happens when
I drag the file over the popup information and a new crash information that
supports your supposition:

From your developer view, does it make sense to move the bug report to
kwin_wayland and, if yes, can you?

Best regards

Bug#978621: pipewire: Drag and drop a file in Dolphin makes pipewire crash KDE Plasma Wayland

2020-12-29 Thread Silvério Santos
Package: pipewire
Version: 0.3.15-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Since the update to KDE Plasma 5.20 Dolphin makes the whole session crash,
displaying the login screen instead of completing the following process:
1. Grab a .ly file
2. Drag it to a subfolder
3. Before reaching the subfolder, the session is closed and the SDDM login
screen is displayed. This also happens when trying to drag outside of the fie
list to avoid hovering over other files.

Journal show the following errors, interestingly not from Dolphin itself:

Danke Martin, gleichfalls.

After the upgrade you mentioned below the context menu not even opens when
doing drag and drop. I have to move emails through the context menu.

Bug#974860: kmail: When moving an email into a subfolder on KDE Plasma Wayland the context menu does not appear at the target subfolder

2020-11-15 Thread Silvério Santos
Package: kmail
Version: 4:20.08.2-4
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

On KDE Plasma Wayland: Drag and drop an email into a subfolder. A context menu
appears to choose whether to move here, copy here or cancel. This context menu
appears where the email was located before/where it was clicked to drag it into
the target folder. This of course is misleading because of the expression "...
here" twice in the options, as they do not match the place they are referring
to.
The menu should appear at the target folder instead, where the mouse button is
released.

Bug#974827: kmail: Navigate through emails in email message windows: next, previous, next unread, previous unread

2020-11-15 Thread Silvério Santos
Package: kmail
Version: 4:20.08.2-4
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

when opening emails in windows on their own the next email has to opened by
closing the current window, selecting the next one in the folder and opening it
in another window. It would be desirable to be able to navigate through email
from within the email window.
Fun fact, this was an unanswered question on stackexchange 4 years and 9
mtónths ago: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/259812/next-unread-
message-shortcut-in-kmail-message-window

This is amplified by kmail's misbehaviour on KDE Wayland. Through the inability
to show the email in the preview pane, emails have to be opened in email
message windows on Wayland (see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414955)

Bug#974821: kmail: some attachments are not shown with setting header/standard in eMail window

2020-11-15 Thread Silvério Santos
Package: kmail
Version: 4:20.08.2-4
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

when view/header/standard is configured some attachments are not shown in the
email window, so that there is no indication of an attachment there. Switching
to view/header/decorative shows the attachments in the same email window's
header section.

Example code for not shown attachment with standard header ([UUID] is a
placeholder):
--Apple-Mail=_[UUID]
Content-Disposition: inline;
filename="filename.pdf"
Content-Type: application/pdf;
x-unix-mode=0644;
name="filename.pdf"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

[code]

Example code for shown attachment with standard header:
--multipart_alternative.123456789--

--multipart_mixed.987654321
Content-Type: application/pdf
Content-Length: 42000
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="filename.pdf"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

Bug#970515: Not fixed yet

2020-11-14 Thread Silvério Santos
Not fixed on Debian testing with Plasma 5.19.5-4

The upsteam bug report mentioned above has not resolved the issue yet: the
latest comment from 2020-11-05 20:33:37 UTC still discusses a possible
solution.
Additionally a question for backporting was left unanswered, bug fixing
concentrates on the branch Plasma/5.20. So, there is no fix even on the newest
version, hence no backport to this bug's version.

Bug#974758: kwin-wayland: KCM misses org.kde.newstuff on KDE Wayland

2020-11-14 Thread Silvério Santos
Package: kwin-wayland
Version: 4:5.19.5-3

Dear Maintainer,

Global design and Plasma style cannot load a QML file and complains the lack of
org.kde.newstuff, e.g. in
/usr/share/kpackage/kcms/kcm_colors/contents/ui/main.qml

Installing the package qml-module-org-kde-newstuff resolves the problem and
makes the KCM modues above available. It might be wise to make it a dependency,
so it is installed when needed.

Bug#947929: frescobaldi: Redirect TMPDIR to ram disk, because of automatic engraving

2020-01-02 Thread Silvério Santos
Package: frescobaldi
Version: 3.0.0+ds1-2
Severity: wishlist
Tags: newcomer

Dear Maintainer,

with the automatic engraving function activated Frescobaldi constantly compiles
the .ly source code in at least one file (layout, e.g. .pdf), sometimes also
more (+ .midi). This happens almost after every change in the source code, so
this behavior wears out SSDs. To work around this I propose to set up a tmpfs
ram disk and redefine the TMPFS env var to that path for Frescobaldi. Since I
found no option inside the software, I did it on loading the software:

Manual new line to /etc/fstab:
none /media/username/frescoram tmpfs

Manual change to the Frescobaldi menu entry:
TMPDIR=/media/username/frescoram/ bash -c 'frescobaldi "%F"'

To be honest, with the small files I use, there is no major speedup, but this
might be different for bigger projects. Instead, the small size of the files
are perfect for today's usual computers to dynamically redirect a tiny part of
their multi-GB RAM in order to protect the hardware (200 KB in my case!). Also,
if used up, tmpfs starts to swap instead of reporting to be full.

Obviously this is a quickly available solution, but only a workaround. It could
be useful to have this integrated into the software, where the amount of
available RAM and other things, like the creation of the ram disk, can be
programatically taken into account.

Bug#946365: kmail becomes unresponsive with active preview pane on wayland-plasma

2019-12-07 Thread Silvério Santos
Package: kmail
Version: 4:18.08.3-4
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Started kmail on wayland-plasma with active preview pane. The preview stays
black at the beginning. When e.g. hovering with the mouse over the preview,
clicking on a different email or changing the folder the whole kmail software
stops reacting and the title bar shows an unresponsive notification. No crash
notification.

When not interacting with the enabled preview pane the software stays
responsive, even the settings can be reached to disable preview, which makes
kmail work fine. EMail content can then be viewed in separately opened windows
by doubleclicking them. Disabling HTML preference does not help.

This problem does not happen with the preview pane disabled and in either
configuration on X-Window.

Running Debian testing, KMail 18.08.3-4

Bug#790448: [systemd] Regression from 215-18: Shutdown delayed for minutes waiting for automounted CIFS

2015-07-06 Thread Silvério Santos
Hallo Michael,

network is configured with network-manager using DHCP towards an ISC-DHCP-
server with MAC-address-reservation.

Systemd-analyze, systemctl outputs and the responsible fstab-line attached as
a tar.gz.

Oh, BTW: the updated and current version 221-1 still has the erroneous
behavior.

Vielen Dank für die Hilfe
Silvério

Bug#725815: [systemd-sysv] CIFS-mounts in fstab with comment=x-systemd and automount delay shutdown

2013-10-08 Thread Silvério Santos
Package: systemd-sysv
Version: 204-5
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
The line in /etc/fstab is:
//IP-address/share mountpoint cifs auto,comment=x-
systemd.automount,comment=x-systemd.device-
timeout=10,users,_netdev,credentials=credentialsfile,uid=username,gid=group

0 0

The error message on system shutdown or reboot is:
CIFS VFS: Server IP-address does not respond in 120 seconds. Reconnecting...

Also the line above only creates the .mount-file, not the .automount-file in
/run/systemd/generator/. Manually unmounting does not remount automatically.

Making the fstab-line above invalid or manually umounting allows the system to
shutdown within a few seconds.

not mounted on boot, while LVM2 partition / is mounted. Manually mounting all
the missing partitions in recovery mode makes the system successfully conclude
booting. Changing boot system to upstart resolves the issue.

I have completely purged kmail and kdepim-packages, deleted the
configuration folders as listed and reinstalled the packages. The folder
list is still not displayed at all. The subscription list stays empty,
but does not lead to a crash.

Like before kmail stopped working, there is no folder named Inbox on the
IMAP server. Could this possibly be the cause?

Bug#356769: ndiswrapper-utils: Fails to detect manufaturer names in inf-file

2006-08-20 Thread Silvério Santos

wpa_supplicant -Dndiswrapper -ieth2 -d -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

Try
wpa_supplicant -Dwext -ieth2 -d -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
That one seems to work, except that I have not checked WPA capabilities.
This driver uses the standard kernel extensions I use without
wpa_supplicant (WLAN-NG), right?

BTW: the command ndiswrapper reports Error: no versions of
ndiswrapper
found!, while ndiswrapper-1.8 works fine from the path since the
update to 1.16.

What is your /bin/sh set to?

It is set to dash.

Bug#348141: still happening (Debian bug: 348141)

2006-07-30 Thread Silvério Santos

Hi Adam,

Sorry, I didn't realize that you wouldn't get the message. You might want to
subscribe to your bugs to make sure you get replies.

Good idea, I did exactly that.

Problems still happening on version 1.9.1.

And now still with 1.9.3

on the purge activity. For testing could you please point out what
config files to delete?

~/.kde/share/apps/kmail
~/.kde/share/config/kmail.*

Done and also previously purged the package with aptitude.

Could you be more specific about the versions that work and those that don't?
Also, please attach a backtrace of the crash.
Any version since this started to happen (which I don't remember) had
the same problem on one computer. The KMail installation on a different
computer connects to the same server, thus also uses the same data, and
always ran the same version as on the faulty installation.

Best regards

Silvério

Hi Andres,

I will try to clarify things as requested.

Will test the next days though, as I had to change the AP to WEP due to
the lack of wpa_supplicant compatible drivers.

The test with command

wpa_supplicant -Dndiswrapper -ieth2 -d -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

does lead to a connection. The conf-file is configured to use WEP, which
works fine with the native orinoco-driver (aka HERMES I; which does not
support WPA, being the reason why I try to use the NDIS driver). As the
wpa_supplicant file is based on a example from the package and the
values are used to configure the orinoco-driver I assume my
ndiswrapper-installation does not work.

I'm not really sure what you're saying. Please provide the exact
commands that you're running, and links to the drivers, so that I can
attempt to reproduce the problem.

Done above.

BTW: the command ndiswrapper reports Error: no versions of ndiswrapper
found!, while ndiswrapper-1.8 works fine from the path since the update
to 1.16. But maybe this is subject of another bug report...

What ndis packages do you have installed?
COLUMNS=200 dpkg -l |grep ndiswrapper

Output:
ii ndiswrapper-common 1.16-1

ii ndiswrapper-utils-1.71.8-2

ii ndiswrapper-utils-1.81.16-1

The only time this should happen is if you have ndiswrapper-common but
no ndiswrapper-utils-* packages installed. If it's happening
otherwise.. yes, that would be a separate bug.

Although I used a workaround for me by entering the ndiswrapper-1.8
command as a fixed one into /usr/sbin/ndiswrapper I think I will report
it separately in the next days and will not bother you further in this
thread.

Thanks and best regards

Bug#348141: still happening

2006-05-07 Thread Silvério

Hi Adam,

I would've answered your questions earlier if I have received a
respective notification...

Problems still happening on version 1.9.1.

KMail has been completely purged, but when I reinstalled it the config
was still there. So, to be franc, I doubt all config files where deleted
on the purge activity. For testing could you please point out what
config files to delete?

Using KMail with a different user and starting from no (first use
wizard) configuration did not help.

The server package is a cyrus21-imapd 2.1.18-3.
The folder structure is extensive:
- 21 folder on top level
- 5 of the top level folders containing subfolders and being mail
folders themselves

- 70 subfolders

I am running a Debian Sid installation at a similar update level where
KMail is still working. The difference is that it has not been used that
often compared to the machine where KMail is broken. (And being a
desktop the network is connected via Ethernet 100 MBit/s.)

Thanks and best regards

Bug#348141: KMail working with IMAP using backed up kmailrc

2006-01-15 Thread Silvério
Hi,

KMail runs fine with a backed up kmailrc (with and without TLS), so the
reported problem seems to be restricted to newly created IMAP configurations.
