Bug#1032388: gnome-shell: fails to switch keyboard layout from topbar menu
Package: gnome-shell Version: 43.3-2 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, Since a recent update, switching keyboard layouts from the menu in the topbar (clicking the language symbol in the topbar and choosing a keyboard layout) does not work any more, i.e., the action has no effect. Switching layouts works fine with the keyboard shortcut as well as with the mouse in the overview. I have the option "Switch input sources individually for each window" set to "on" and I am using three different keyboard layouts. I have also disabled all gnome-shell extensions to test this. Another related problem is that if the current window and the overview are using different keyboard layouts, the animation for switching to the overview visibly stutters. This worked fine before the update. Bug#991243: calibre: tooltips show empty rectangles instead of text
Package: calibre Version: 5.12.0+dfsg-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, Calibre shows helpful context sensitive information in the form of tooltips on mouse hover. Unfortunately, since upgrading to bullseye, this does not work for me any more. Instead of the tooltips, I only see empty white rectangles with no text in their place. Bug#989843: thunderbird: Problem loading page: NS_ERROR_NET_INADEQUATE_SECURITY
Package: thunderbird Version: 1:78.11.0-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Dear Maintainer, Since the update to 78.11.0 Thunderbird cannot load various webpages. To reproduce the error, try to do a search in the Add-ons Manager (type something in the search box and press Enter). The error message is "The website tried to negotiate an inadequate level of security. ... Error code: NS_ERROR_NET_INADEQUATE_SECURITY" There is perhaps a more useful error message in the error console: addons.thunderbird.net : server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555 The problem also appears when trying to load other pages or using certain add-ons (for example, calendar-google-provider). The problem goes away if one sets network.http.spdy.enforce-tls-profile to false in the preferences. This makes me think that there is an issue with the TLS library. Bug#987076: gnome-shell: error on switching to an application on another workspace from the dashboard
Package: gnome-shell Version: 3.38.4-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, When switching to an application on a different workspace by clicking on the icon in the dashboard, some error messages appear in the journal (see below). Moreover, there is a rather unpleasant visual glitch: instead of a smooth animation, the background is showed briefly and abruptly. The bug is present in both Wayland and Xorg sessions with no extensions running. The problem seems to be in the interaction between the C and the JavaScript code in gnome shell. It is easy to reproduce as it happens every time: 1. Launch two different applications and put them on different workspaces. 2. Switch between them by clicking on the icons in the overview. This bug has also been reported upstream here: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/3341 Thank you for maintaining this package. Bug#883325: pulseaudio: stuttering output with bluetooth a2dp speakers
Package: pulseaudio Version: 10.0-1+deb9u1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, I recently acquired a Marshall Acton bluetooth speaker and unfortunately, it is unusable with Debian. Bug#785305: keepass2: option to lock workspace on suspend does not work
Package: keepass2 Version: 2.28+dfsg-1 Severity: grave Tags: security Justification: user security hole Dear Maintainer, The two options Lock workspace when locking the computer and Lock workspace when the computer is about to be suspended do not function. This makes possible reading user's secrets from memory if, for example, a laptop is stolen while suspended and the software is running. Bug#768542: libgtk-3-0: no borders in windows that are split on left/right
Here is the upstream bug for this issue: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=708857 and the fix: https://git.gnome.org/browse/gtk%2B/commit/?id=8753ef6 I applied the patch to my local copy of libgtk and it seems to work without problems. As the patch looks quite innocent and the bug is very annoying (at least for heavy users of the split screen feature like me), perhaps you should consider including the fix in jessie. Bug#768542: libgtk-3-0: no borders in windows that are split on left/right
Package: libgtk-3-0 Version: 3.14.4-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, The new GTK3 theme does not display borders on half-maximized windows which leads to a rather strange look. To reproduce (using gnome-shell), do the following: -- start a copy of gedit; press super-left to maximize to the left half of the screen. -- start another copy of gedit; press super-right to maximize to the right half of the screen. Result: there is no border between the two windows and it is impossible to visually distinguish where one window ends and the other starts. This seems to be a problem in the new theme and a regression from 3.12. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libgtk-3-0 depends on: ii libatk-bridge2.0-0 2.14.0-2 ii libatk1.0-0 2.14.0-1 ii libc62.19-12 ii libcairo-gobject21.14.0-2.1 ii libcairo21.14.0-2.1 ii libcolord2 1.2.1-1+b1 ii libcups2 1.7.5-7 ii libfontconfig1 2.11.0-6.1 ii libfreetype6 2.5.2-2 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.31.1-2+b1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.42.0-2 ii libgtk-3-common 3.14.4-1 ii libjson-glib-1.0-0 1.0.2-1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.36.8-2 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.36.8-2 ii libpangoft2-1.0-01.36.8-2 ii librest-0.7-00.7.92-2 ii libsoup2.4-1 2.48.0-1 ii libwayland-client0 1.6.0-2 ii libwayland-cursor0 1.6.0-2 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.2-3 ii libxcomposite1 1:0.4.4-1 ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.14-1 ii libxdamage1 1:1.1.4-2 ii libxext6 2:1.3.3-1 ii libxfixes3 1:5.0.1-2 ii libxi6 2:1.7.4-1 ii libxinerama1 2:1.1.3-1 ii libxkbcommon00.4.3-2 ii libxml2 2.9.1+dfsg1-4 ii libxrandr2 2:1.4.2-1 ii multiarch-support2.19-12 ii shared-mime-info 1.3-1 Versions of packages libgtk-3-0 recommends: ii hicolor-icon-theme 0.13-1 ii libgtk-3-bin3.14.4-1 Versions of packages libgtk-3-0 suggests: ii gvfs 1.22.1-1 ii librsvg2-common 2.40.5-1 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
