Bug#892136: Info received (Bug#892136: /usr/bin/loimpress: Libreoffice Impress sometimes silently deletes a slide from the presentation)
I have somehow isolated the problem. It appears when somebody tries to rearrange the slides in the left pannel using the mouse with slightly worn left button, or with touchpad. Certain combination of position of the dragged slide and left button clicks (e.g. caused by damaged left button) results in the immediate and silent deletion of the dragged slide. No, however if deletion occurs during normal edition (scrolling, entering of normal characters) it is obviously a reason to fill the bug report. You yourself said: "Probably certain user activity (a special dragging the slides in the left pannel, or using a special key sequence?) causes Impress to delete a slide without any warning or confirmation request." "special key sequence" is not the same as "entering of normal characters", neither is "a special dragging" the same as scrolling. Generally the problem occurs during normal editing. When I change the slides order in the left pannel, or when I switch between moving slides and normal editing in the main window. Unfortunately, I can't recreate that behavior. Whenever I try to trigger the problem, and do strangest operations in the left pannel (e.g. dropping one slide on another, dragging the group of slides etc.) nothing happens. As soon as I start normal editing and focus on the work not on the GUI operations, the problem randomly occurs. If I detect it quickly enough, I can recover the slide with CTRL+Z. If I notice it after significant changes are done, the only workaround is to save the corrupted presentation in another file, then recover the original presentation with CTRL+Z, and finally merge them both. No, however if deletion occurs during normal edition (scrolling, entering of normal characters) it is obviously a reason to fill the bug report. It should be possible to switch an obligatory warning/confirmation request before any deletion of a slide or group of slides. I'd consider it annoying if valid slide deletions would always need to be deleted. Would you also do it in every cell in calc? In every word in writer? I'd prefer to be able to set it in the settings (preferences) menu. Currently having my presentations corrupted in random way is much more annoying then confirming the deletions. Bug#724503: The problem still occurs. One significant detail - it happens only when ekiga can't register to SIP account
Today I had to use ekiga, and it crashed again with: (ekiga:18868): GLib-CRITICAL **: Source ID 4294967295 was not found when attempting to remove it assert.cxx(112) PWLib Assertion fail: Operating System error, file ptlib/unix/tlibthrd.cxx, line 402, Error=24 Assertion fail: Operating System error, file ptlib/unix/tlibthrd.cxx, line 402, Error=24 bort, ore dump, hrow exception, gnore? shm_open() failed: Too many open files shm_open() failed: Too many open files However I have noticed one important thing. The problem occurs only when I'm connecting from my University network, that blocks possibility to register on SIP account. When I'm running ekiga at home - at unrestricted network. The problem disappears. I've found the following error report: https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-bugs/2013-11/msg02687.html which describes the same problem. There is a probable explanation of the problem there: I tried to debug this issue, and it seems that Ekiga runs an endless registration loop under certain circumstances, since each subscriber() initializes a PThread object, which in turn creates a pair of filedescriptors with pipe(). At some point, the process runs out of file descriptors... So the quick workarouns for those who are hit by that bug is: If you are connecting from a restricted network, that disables registration to your SIP account, go into the accounts configuration in ekiga and disable your SIP account. If your ekiga crashes too quickly, and you have no chance, to disable the account via Accounts menu, you can go to your ~/.gconf/apps/ekiga/protocols/ directory and edit %gconf.xml file: It should look like this: 1|1|0cbba49b-494d-d312-1ac2-a6748a9b3cdc|Ekiga.net|SIP|ekiga.net|ekiga.net|my_name|my_name|my_password|36 To disable the account, simply change the first "1" into "0": 0|1|0cbba49b-494d-d312-1ac2-a6748a9b3cdc|Ekiga.net|SIP|ekiga.net|ekiga.net|my_name|my_name|my_password|36 Of course you can also copy the old %gconf.xml file to %gconf.xml.enabled and completely remove the account definition from the list. You may keep two versions saved - %gconf.xml.restricted (with removed/disabled SIP accounts) and %gconf.xml.full (with enabled SIP accounts). Then you should copy the right version to %gconf.xml before you start ekiga. This is just a dirty workaround, but today it has saved my life ;-). Bug#700089: /usr/bin/localc: Attempt to open empty CSV file with further cancellation corrupts the file
Package: libreoffice-calc Version: 1:3.5.4+dfsg-4 Severity: normal File: /usr/bin/localc Dear Maintainer, I have a device, which stores the measurement data into the CSV file. When the file is empty (nothing measured yet), the localc displays window asking to select the appropriate import filter. However when I press cancel (anuluj in the Polish version), the file gets corrupted - the empty file gets replaced with file of length of 1536 bytes with binary/unicode data Steps to repeat: 1. $ measurement.csv 2. $ localc measurement.csv 3. When the Filter Selection window appears, press Cancel 4. Bug#623004: Problem with xhc_hcd USB 3.0 exists also in kernel 3.1
Hi, I use the Dell Vostro 3750 laptop in which I experienced strange freezes during startup. Bug#500769: additional details
I have filled sugestion regarding the textext package simultaneously as the wishlist for the inkscape package ( http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=500769 ) and as the request for package (RFP) ( http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=500777 ). Probably one of these bugs should be closed, after a decision is taken: whether textext qualifies for integration into the inkscape itself, or should be a separate package. -- Regards, Wojtek -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#464442: The problem disappeared, when I downgraded to the debian/testing (why system has upgraded itself to unstable???)
I'have discovered, that my system has been unintentionally upgraded to debian/unstable ???!!! One of the unofficial package repositories provided a package, which put additional apt source-list into the /etc/apt/sources.list.d, containing the reference to the packages from the unstable branch (strictly it was emdebian-tools from the http://www.emdebian.org/ ). To remove the problem, I had to delete the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/emdebian.sources.list , and then to downgrade the system back to the testing, creating the /etc/apt/preferences with the following contents: # cat /etc/apt/preferences Package: * Pin: release a=stable Pin-Priority: 100 Package: * Pin: release a=testing Pin-Priority: 1001 Package: * Pin: release a=unstable Pin-Priority: 50 Then I was able to downgrade with some executions of apt-get dist-upgrade and dselect (it was necessary to remove temporarily some packages, to make the downgrade possible). So now I have the wine in version: 0.9.44-1 And the xserver: xserver-xorg-video-intel in version: 2:2.1.0-2 and everything works as perfectly, as before... -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#372873: more details
1. The bug appeared after yesterda's upgrade of my debian/testing system. Previously it worked correctly 2. I tried to clean all user's gnome settings - nothing helped 3. When I run: setxkbmap -rules xorg -model pc105 -layout pl2 -option grp:switch, ctrl:nocaps To get my keyboard working, everything works perfectly (but gnome-settings-daemon keeps crashing as previously). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#357048: ipe: Copy paste doesn't work in Ipe - upgrade necessary?
Package: ipe Version: 6.0pre23-6 Severity: normal I've tried to use the copypaste function in the Ipe editor to copy objects from objects library sheet to the another edited sheet. However this function doesn't work between different Ipe instances (it works internally in single sheet). The Ipe developers have suggested, that upgrade to the 6.0 preview 26 version may be needed. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15.2 Locale: LANG=pl_PL, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL (charmap=ISO-8859-2) Versions of packages ipe depends on: ii libc6 2.3.5-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcc1 1:4.0.2-9 GCC support library ii libipe1c2a6.0pre23-6 Ipe library used by ipelets ii libqt3-mt 3:3.3.5-4 Qt GUI Library (Threaded runtime v ii libstdc++64.0.2-9The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii tetex-bin 3.0-14 The teTeX binary files ii tetex-extra 3.0-15 Additional library files of teTeX ipe recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#321870: ndiswrapper: Ndiswrapper causes the fatal exception in interrupt when halting the system
Package: ndiswrapper Severity: important I use the ndiswrapper with my Belkin F5D7050 WiFi card. Sometimes, when I switch off my system, I get the kernel panic caused by the fatal exception in the interrupt code. The messages displayed during sample event are shown here: http://www.ise.pw.edu.pl/~wzab/ndis.jpg The problem renders remote rebooting of the system unreliable, therefore I've decided to assign severity=important. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12.3 Locale: LANG=pl_PL, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL (charmap=ISO-8859-2) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#312227: Update of python2.3-xmpp for debian/testing required
Package: python2.3-xmpp Version: 0.2-rc1-1 Severity: important I've detected the bug in the XMPP, when working with TLS plugin I've described this bug on the XMPP project site: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detailaid=1215631group_id=97081atid=616915 I was preparing a bot controlled with GPG encrypted Jabber messages (sent from Psi communicator). Because of long GPG key (4096-bits) the messages were very long. The XMPP library stops working after receiving just a part of the message, and continues working only after the next message is received. The problem is not GPG related, because similar results were obtained also for normal, not encrypted messages. The problem occures only when working over the TLS protected connection. So probably there is something wrong with the TLS plugin However after sending the bug report I've stated, that the SF.net website offers a newer version of the python-XMPP library. The newest version appered to be free of the described bug. Therefore I'd like to suggest upgrade of the debian package to the new 0.2-rc3 version. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.11.7 Locale: LANG=pl_PL, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL (charmap=ISO-8859-2) Versions of packages python2.3-xmpp depends on: ii python2.3 2.3.5-3An interactive high-level object-o -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
