In bash 2, ALT TAB (M-\C-i) performed dynamic-complete-history.
In bash 3, it now does tab-insert.

The info node Commands for Completion still lists the old binding.

This node doesn't exist. please clarify.

Info viewer shows this status line
--zz-Info: (bash3ref.info.gz)Commands For Completion, 92 lines

It's under (8) Command Line Editing, (8.4) Bindable Readline Commands,
(8.4.6) Commands For Completion (with the heading Letting Readline Type For
You).

I have the following packages installed:
bash 3.0-15
bash-doc 3.0-15
bash3 3.0-12
bash3-doc 3.0-12

Both versions still have this text.

After pulling down the Bash tarball, I can see the section doesn't exist in
the upstream sources. There is simply an include that looks for a file
called rluser.texi which seems to provide the entirety of chapter 8. This
document seems to be provided by the Readline project
http://cnswww.cns.cwru.edu/~chet/readline/readline.html#SEC19.

I'll report this upstream.

It does exist in the generated .info file, which is what I was originally
looking at.

no, it exists in the bash tarball as well. which info file do you
read. bashref, or rluserman?

The version generated by upstream from bashref.texi and (possibly an old
version of) rluser.texi and thus included in the bash tarball. I believe
we're talking about the same thing. ;-)
