Hello I upgraded to the kernel version 2.6.12.4 and the same proble again at the same point. I tried also without kernel-package without success. Around a week ago I was running sarge and I build this kernel including the kernel-doc package without any problem. Do see which change between sarge and testing can be responsible for that. BTW I do not know how I can compile only the documentation without make-kpkg, moreover, does building the kernel-doc package work for you? I have to hit ctrl-c to stop it (I waited for more than 10 minutes...).
