Bug#339776: [Pkg-gmagick-im-team] Bug#339776: imagemagick: new upstream release available (6.2.5-4, 2005.10.31)

I've uploaded a new upstream version to experimental yesterday, but it
needs to clear NEW, still. We'll have to see how it fares on the
buildds, and need input from -release as it involves a SONAME
transition, so the outlook for unstable isn't clear yet.

Regards,

Daniel.

  Yes, we (http://alioth.debian.org/projects/pkg-gmagick/) are planning
to do a new upload soon.
The work is being done on our SVN repository
  (http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-gmagick)
I just want to have more eyes looking at
  http://people.debian.org/~naoliv/misc/imagemagick_diff.txt (applied on
top of SVN), to see if everything is OK. Then I think that it's ready
  for an upload.

Have you asked on -devel@ or [EMAIL PROTECTED] I'm not experienced in
 packaging libs
 either.

Hi Nelson,

Are there some news on the status of imagemagick? Will it be uploaded to
unstable soon?

Thank you,

Lucas

I maintain the ruby bindings for imagemagick, and their new version
 requires imagemagick = 6.3.

I see. I hope that soon we get an updated imagemagick available on Debian.

Something else: I see that you are not officially the maintainer of
imagemagick. Are you planning to adopt it? I filed #454809 a while ago,
and plan to orphan imagemagick in a few weeks, so a maintainer with more
time available can pick it up. Would you be interested yourself?

We are 3 people working on it (Luciano Bello, Daniel Kobras and me),
so at least for now I think that there is no need to orphan it, right?
:-)

Best regards,
Nelson

Indeed! Thank you for clarifying this.

Bug#339776: imagemagick: new upstream release available (6.2.5-4, 2005.10.31)

2005-11-18 Thread Florian Ernst
Package: imagemagick
Version: 6:6.2.4.5-0.2
Severity: wishlist

Dear maintainer,

as of 2005.10.31 there is a new upstream release 6.2.5-4 available
eg. from ftp://zoffy.asahi-net.or.jp/pub/graphics/ImageMagick.

However, beware, once more there seem to be various API and (C-)ABI
changes without a corresponding change in soname...

Please update the package when you think it is due time.

Cheers,
Flo
