Bug#427991: libxine1: xine crashed when playing dvds with jack server error

2007-08-15 Thread Michael Schmitt
Hi folks,

even if Prakash J Kokkatt confused me a bit with his report, I have the
same issue. I don't use jackd but I don't think a forced deinstall of
depends of xine can be called a solution. So in my opinion the
solution is quite simple: Remove the depends for the jack libs or if
this would break something else one should implement a check if jackd is
installed and if not it should not try to use it.
I did not find anything on google for this issue, is the upstream
version not affected?

greetings
Michael

P.S.: I am sure the color of my computer case has nothing to do with
this issue but if one wants to know, it is white with small blue
parts ;)

Okay, this really seems to me as a local configuration issue. I'm
closing this bug for now, as it seems impossible for both of us to
investigate this issue further. (I cannot reproduce it, I cann only
assume that jack and/or pulseaudio have become somehow misconfigured)

I dont see any reason for libjack0 and libpulse0 be here in my
system.no other jack or pulse deps are in the system until installed
by libxine1 and few other apps.I dont even have any problem with these
two dependencies except in xine player.mplayer works fine and mplayer
too got those two packages as dependencies as does the xine.so please
let me know what shud i do with?I dont see where it went corrupt.this
is a fresh install.as seen the below error is particular with xine.i
already had bad memories with libxcb and java.does this one too
related to?
xine: pulsecore/mutex-posix.c:81: pa_mutex_unlock: Assertion `_r == 0' failed.

in total, xine is the only package problematic :( is that enough
reasons to close as no bug :(

Bug#427991: libxine1: xine crashed when playing dvds with jack server error

2007-06-07 Thread Prakash J Kokkatt

I forgot to mention that i have intel on-board graphics card which was
automatically disabled in BIOS after plugging in NVIDIA card.but again
:intel_agp and agpgart modules are loading.i tried blacklisting these
modules via /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.
I uses a 915GV based gigabyte board.now it contains on-board intel
gfx.when i plugged in the nvidia card,in bios intel on-board one is
automatically disabled.
Now the problem is i get errors with xine player etc.MTRR available
but not used etc which by core i think is due to the use of these two
modules by my Debian Sid.- intel_agp and agpgart. Now i uses the
proprietory driver.so no agpgart or dri etc is needed.
I tried blacklist those two modules(intel_agp,agpgart) using
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist by adding :
Code:

#blacklist intel onboard drivers
blacklist agpgart
blacklist intel_agp

but even after this these modules are forced loaded at every boot!.is
this have any impact on the video system.
